We found In The Clouds Events by chance when searching through listicles for a planner that could help guide us through every step of the wedding planning process. Since we were planning a LA wedding while being based in Singapore, we needed someone who was familiar with LA wedding venues, could recommend the vendors we needed, and ultimately manage the entire planning process. We chose Tina because from the beginning, she was organized, friendly, and most importantly, genuinely invested in helping us realize our wedding vision. We had met with a number of other planners and many made us feel like they were trying to push their own agenda and thus did not make us feel heard. Over the course of 10 months, Tina guided us through all the various planning stages (despite the enormous time zone differences!), provided a great selection of vendors, and answered the countless questions we threw her way. This was early 2021- where the COVID pandemic still did not hold big events. Things fell through with a previous planner, but I am so glad it happened. It led me to Tina, and the rest is history. Our reception venue recommended her, and I immediately noticed why she was a preferred vendor. I am a rigidly-organized and detailed-oriented person - so once Tina and I got started - tons of fun and magic began! We couldn't have asked for a better event coordinator! At first I thought I can do everything myself, but listening to everyone's advice, they suggested I get an event coordinator. So I did. I am the type of person who is OCD and super organized. Tina was just the right person I needed, super organized and detailed. Tina was a fantastic wedding planner for our big day. We booked our venue and a few vendors on our own, but we were happy to be able to tap into Tina's network for a few key vendors as well, some of which were able to give us a discount for working with Tina. Roughly each month we synced up to make sure we were tracking well against the wedding prep timeline, and on one occasion when we lagged and dropped the ball on a cake vendor who got booked up by someone else, we promptly got a new recommendation from Tina (and acted much more swiftly the second time around!) that ended up being an amazing choice that got tons of compliments from our guests. When we had to push back our wedding due to COVID, Tina stuck with us the entire time and helped us navigate the rescheduling with a handful of the vendors we had already booked, and she also helped a ton with other COVID-related considerations like checking vendor vaccination status / negative testing requirements. In the weeks leading up to our wedding day, Tina wrangled all of the various vendor docs required by our venue, coordinated with all of the vendors to make sure everyone was on the same page regarding the day-of timeline, and interfaced heavily with our venue coordinators to sift through the fine details of the banquet event order to our preference. On the big day itself, Tina and her team set up all of the decorations exactly as we planned, and also packed it all up for us at the end of the night as planned. We had prepared everything so well in advance that we didn't have any crazy last minute logistics that had to be taken care of, which was delightful for us because we were able to just focus on enjoying the day. Tina made sure that all of the logistics on the timeline went as smoothly as possible (marriage license signing, wardrobe changes, projector setup and teardown, etc), and when we inevitably fell behind schedule she pushed us along to make sure that we caught up before our photographer/videographer had to clock out. Besides the usual wedding day anxiety, we didn't have to worry about a thing thanks to Tina, and we ended up having so much fun at our wedding. Almost forgot to mention it, but the design lookbook that Tina and her team made for us was perfect! They patiently iterated on the design as we tweaked everything exactly to our preference (I don't remember how many versions we had), but the end result was a perfect digital resource that we were able to give to our florist/photographer/videographer to make sure everything on our wedding day looked just the way we wanted it. I only had less than six month to plan my wedding. To make matters worse, I reside on the East Coast, my fiancée lives in Europe and our families are located in Southern California, so planning a wedding remotely was not an easy task. Fortunately, Tina made the process less stressful. Her ideas, design and color scheme were very creative and aligned with my vision for the wedding. Particularly, her list of vendor recommendations was a great help, since I did not know where to start. The DJ, florist, videographer/ photographer, officiant and cake design were a success. At her suggestion, I also hired a portrait lounge, which was a big hit with the guests. A few weeks before the wedding, I decided to include a Lion Dance to honor my Taiwanese culture. Tina knew exactly how to pull that off. And her ability to speak Mandarin was a personal touch to the older guests who were my parents' friends. Tina and her assistant were awesome in coordinating the day of the wedding. She made sure all the vendors were prepared and on schedule. She cued the DJ to coordinate the music with each main activity, i.e. processional, recessional, grand entrance, lion dance, first dance, etc. In addition, everything was packed-up afterwards and handed back to me. She definitely made my wedding day more enjoyable without having to worry about the logistics. Tina is easy to work with and pays attention to details. She offered her help if requested but was flexible when I had my own ideas. I did not want to spend a lot on single-use decoration, yet Tina created a beautiful set design for the ceremony and the reception, using her own props. I honestly cannot say enough good things about this team. I was a skeptic of wedding coordinators at first. I thought they were just for people having extravagant 250+ people weddings and people who had too much money to spend. I also kept telling myself I was going to have a simple wedding - no frills. Being the cheapass I was, I really had ZERO intent on hiring one. I only had to hire one because my venue required and OH BOY how glad I am that I did! From Day 1, Tina and Vivian went above and beyond their duties during the entire planning process. My now-husband and I live on the east coast but they were there for me through every step of the process. We exchanged several emails, had phone calls, and video calls. They checked in on me frequently, recommended vendors, and gave me helpful tips and suggestions for finding the best team for my wedding. Once I hired people, I simply had to hand them off to Tina and Vivian and they took care of the rest. I didn't have to worry about who was coming when and what they needed for setup on the day of my wedding. On the day of my wedding, they were there for me in a heartbeat. Due to the hours I had them contracted for, they did not arrive until the afternoon. I needed their help in the morning and had to call Vivian a few times. And WOW Vivian picked up the phone WITHIN THE FIRST RING. That showed me their true dedication, and even though they couldn't physically be there in the morning, they made sure to be available and on call for me. When they arrived, they were super attentive and organized. I saw them running around communicating with my other vendors, the venue's staff, my close family, and my wedding party. Yet they still found time to check in with me frequently. It was a hot day during the photoshoot and they even brought out water for me to make sure I stayed hydrated. It was so sweet and I felt like they truly cared. :') There was an issue with the parking at the hotel. Most of my guests had not arrived yet even though the ceremony time had started because the hotel's parking garage got full. They ran down and talked to the hotels staff and put a person in front of the garage redirecting my guests to another nearby lot. We had to push back the ceremony 15 minutes but everything went so smoothly. Even my parents told me they were so glad I hired them, and they were the BIGGEST skeptics of wedding coordinators. Because of them, I actually got to enjoy my wedding, talk to my guests, and even EAT, which is a big thing because everyone told me I wouldn't get a chance to eat on my wedding day. If I ever have 2nd wedding (hopefully I won't!), I will absolutely hire them again! Just WOW. read more

I'm generally a pretty organized person, did not spend my childhood or adult life crafting ideas on what my "dream wedding would be like", and overall felt we should be able to handle it all ourselves. But we changed our mind as we spoke with several friends who shared stories of wedding day chaos and boy was that the best decision ever! Everything ran extremely smoothly. All of our guests have been raving about how smooth everything was, the PERFECT timeline, and how organized everything came out. This was all credited to Tina. Some things fell behind but never once did Tina come to us frantic about the situation. Instead, she handled each one accordingly, brought everything back on track, and the guests never had a clue. I was running out of creative energy while wedding planning and was willing to forfeit the small details for my sanity when Tina came to my rescue. She is all about the details and fulfilled them with ease. I gave her my wedding theme colors and style and she went with it. She even created a banner personally for our sweethearts table (see photos). One of the greatest things was that she brought balloons to keep the little kids occupied before and after the ceremony. It also helped the parents to easily locate them. It's those little details. I was very nervous about the timeline and she helped rearrange it so it flowed better and gave her opinion on what realistically happens and how things could be easily shifted if we were running short on time. There was always a back up plan. Her wedding day survival kit came in handy. Anything you could ever need but didn't think to bring, she had it. We hired Tina and In the Clouds Event as our month-of coordinator for our Los Angeles wedding. My husband and I are both from LA but currently live on the east coast. Planning a wedding from across the country is not easy but Tina helped guide as along the way. Tina makes great use of technology. I was impressed with the accessibility of her website; it is user-friendly and I liked that I could make secure payments with my credit card. We corresponded easily through email, texts, and phone calls and held our meetings conveniently through Google Hangout. The details on our wedding Google spreadsheet covered everything you could imagine! Tina is a very meticulous and detail-oriented person and that was very reassuring for us. Her expertise allowed her to make recommendations on things we would never think of. Tina and her team also worked closely with my other vendors and we greatly appreciated that. This allowed everything to flow so smoothly on the day of the wedding despite our jam-packed schedule - we had our rehearsal, tea ceremony, ceremony and reception all in one day! A few days after the event we discovered there was an issue with guest parking at our venue, however Tina continued to aid us in resolving it. There is no way you can keep a wedding organized without a coordinator and Tina's team was there to make sure we enjoyed every moment of ours. Caveat: I did not use this company for my wedding. However, I did contact them because I was interested in hiring Tina. I had read so many positive reviews on Wedding Wire, but I asked for some references from them personally just in case. (I did this with every vendor I was interested in across the board.) I got a quick email in reply saying that they didn't know if they could give out any of their clients' contact information, but would get back to me. Never heard from them again. I thought that was very strange. Out of all the wedding vendors that I contacted in the LA area in every category (catering, DJ, etc), In The Clouds was the only one that didn't immediately provide me with their own references at my request. I wasn't looking for their clients' personal information; there are many ways of handling references without stepping on your clients' toes. i was a part of a wedding that was coorindated by in the clouds event services. i specifically went to look at other people's reviews of their event planning services before writing this review. it's strange, did we get very different people? for day of wedding coordination at the walt disney concert hall ... we were not sure where the wedding coordinator was most of the time. the bride was visibly upset because she had to do a lot of her own coordination while taking pictures. also the wdch was supposed to be closed off to the public at a certain point. that never happened. bride was not happy with that in laws complained they didn't know what they were supposed to be doing, how they got conflicting information and how late some of the events were starting. there was email communication 2 days before the wedding about what was expected of us. at first i thought, oh nice... a short succinct email. then i read into the schedule and realized there were mistakes in it and we had to get clarification at rehearsal. not a big deal if you weren't paid for doing this ...but if it's your profession, you'd kind of expect better. also the email didn't have much ... personality --- it was written in a very no nonsense business like manner. the wedding did go off well... but there were many times i cringed at the lack of face time, communication and directions from the coordinator. it was then that i really realized what a fabulous job my friend had done coordinating our wedding (w/o pay too). read more

Our wedding was a last minute decision and we realized we needed a coordinator and team to help with our needs, since neither of us had any experience with wedding planning. The team was very responsive and helpful, answering all questions and easily accessible. A great pleasure to work with and well worth the price. If you're looking for a wedding planner, your search should be over right here because you've found her. Hands down she is the reasons why our wedding went so well. Tina was on top of everything, all of our guests were very impressed, and the wedding was above and beyond our expectations as far as execution goes. She was organized for our planning months before the big day and was and cool and calm as can be. There are always stresses during that month before the wedding, but Tina made it feel effortless and took a lot of weight off our shoulders, especially with the small nit-picky things. We originally wanted an intimate celebration after a courthouse ceremony but then our plans changed. With only 3 months to go we started to plan on our own and quickly realized that we didn't have the experience and were very overwhelmed. We met Tina and were very impressed with her professionalism, friendliness, and attention to detail. Throughout the process, she listened to all of our crazy ideas we found on Pinterest and was able to combine into a cohesive theme and helped us stay within budget. For the vendors we were missing, she offered suggestions and gave us a breakdown of their services and costs and didn't pressure us once. When we had questions, she promptly answered everything and was available at all times of the day or night. She was also very generous by letting us borrow many items including her Chinese tea ceremony set and created beautiful decorations for our dessert table. On the day of the wedding she and her team stayed on top of all the vendors, and made sure we didn't have to worry about anything. All of our guests complimented how smoothly everything went and how much fun they had. If you're looking for a wedding coordinator who is very detailed, organized, creative, generous, and a future friend, then Tina and her team is the one for you. Tina was the best wedding vendor we had, and my only regret was not bringing her into the planning process sooner. She was incredibly responsive to all of my emails, no matter how random the question, and made the weeks leading up to the wedding unexpectedly relaxing. I connected with her via WeddingBee and, being a DIY bride, had a lot of projects that needed to be set up to create my wedding vision. She handled all of them perfectly and my wedding was beautiful, fun, and filled with love. I'm sure there were lots of glitches during the setup and wedding itself, but she was always a calm, reassuring presence that just encouraged me to have the best day of my life, and I did. I can't recommend her enough! Even if you're on a tiny budget, find some room for a professional like Tina. You will be so thankful you did! I had my initial consultation session with Tina and I already knew my wedding would be in her hands! For personal budgeting reasons, I didn't go with ANY wedding planner at all. But if I did, it would've been with Tina. From my session with her, she was flexible, filled with fun ideas, comfortable to talk to, open minded, talented, and extremely experienced. She has worked a ton of weddings before and brought many examples from her previous works to show me - different themes and styles - she can pull what you want off! If you want a sweet, flowery wedding or an out of space theme wedding - she has done those before too! She knows photographers, videographers, DJs, florists, bakers, you name it, haha. I felt like anything I wanted to ask or know about, I was in good hands. Her pricing was reasonable and even has specials for within the area of lower guest counts!
