He told me to come in today and he would see what he could do to get me back on the road on time. He set a time for me to bring my truck and headache rack in at 10:30am today. I told him I had an appt. before that and I may not be able to make it at 10:30. He understood and I told him I would let him know if I was gonna be later. My appt. ended up taking hours longer than it should have, but Ryan was beyond understanding, told me he had to leave at a certain time, but was willing to do what he could with the short time I'd left him with. Beyond being willing to help and dealing with a new customer (yes me) that showed up hours later than scheduled, trusting that I would show up just on my word. Not knowing if he just wasted his entire day for a good paying project or a no go project. His honesty through our emails yesterday, being honest today in telling me he'll do what he can with my being late and his honesty while there is what sets him apart from other businesses. Unfortunately, because I was late he couldn't do anything today, therefore making no money on a new customer that held his day hostage. Being Self-Employed, honest businesses are the ones that earn my respect and business. He could've slapped something together that would've worked short term and possibly drilled unnecessary holes in my truck, but he "didn't want to just take my money and ruin my truck bed for a short term fix) where other shops I had spoken with would have. He's now gonna build a custom headache rack for my truck with the design I want, not just throwing your every day rack together. If you need a good, honest fabricator who takes pride in his business and your project. Don't waste your time calling around, Krauss welding and fabrication is the call you wanna make.

Got a response from 1 with an outrageous quote almost disrespectful. One never followed up even after confirming on the phone they received it (It's been 3 weeks already). The others just never responded. It wasn't until I called Microform which they ALSO ignored my quote request and the representative couldn't even find my quote email (I assume they even deleted it). I was then referred by the representative to Van Dyke Fabrication who is able to do both personal and business jobs. I look them up and realize they are a good distance away from me about 35 minutes. I was shopping locally but I realized at this point why not. Well, I'm thankful for the referral because this fabrication shop is not just good, IT'S QUALITY. I was able to finally get this crossbeam fiasco done after searching for a shop for an entire MONTH. When I originally called, Barbara directed me to email John with a quote request and I was able to drop it off the same day! John even stayed extra to see the part, just to clear up what I needed exactly (He already started the day very early too). John exceeded what I expected! He told me he would have to cut the cross beam by hand with a plasma cutter since it wouldn't fit in the machines due to it's shape, which I was completely happy with since I just needed it cut open. However, when I went to pick up the part, it was replicated ENTIRELY with my request since it was easier than cutting it. Matched and fit just like the old part with improved mounting holes for more tolerance, HOLY SMOKES. This was such a nice gesture of him, it's hard to find honest businesses like this these days.
