Upscale rustic restaurant in Waterford. The food was good enough, though nothing to write home about. The chicken dish came with vegetables on the side, though the veggies could have been prepared a little better (seems like they were just slightly over-boiled and lightly seasoned). Our tour drops us off at Waterfords for shopping and sightseeing, but we only care about food. It was 3pm and nothing was open till at least 5pm. We kept walking further and further and found McLearys.  There was no one inside but the one waiter there he was so welcoming. Since we were limited on time, he advised us to order a few appetizers to share. The chicken mushroom sauce au vent in a puffy pastry came soon after.  We also shared a breaded tempura fish and the mushroom soup of the day.  Everything was wonderful and delicious.  Our waiter was so friendly and nice, it was like talking to an old friend.  He really made our day and I hope one day we can see him again for dinner. read more

We are on our first trip to Ireland and it was our 38 wedding anniversary so I was looking for some place special. Saw the great reviews so we decided to give it a try. Boy were we glad we did it was fantastic the ribeye was super tender and delicious then for dessert I had sticky toffee pudding (so good) and my husband had the lemon meringue daquri which I had a couple bites of and it was so refreshing and delicious also.Can not say enough good stuff about this place the service was excellent also .If I could I would give this place 10 stars if you are in Waterford you must go here or you are missing out on a great experience. read more

This is a MUST for dinner while in Waterford!!! 4 of us had dinner and drinks for €130. The calamari appetizer was so tender and fresh. Goat cheese appetizer was amazing!! Lamb, Duck and Filet meals all so tasty! Staff was very attentive and pleasant. We would have loved to have another meal here but was only in town one night. Tried a walk in on a weekend on the recommendation of our Airbnb host in Mooncoin. Told there would be a one hour wait-so went went next door for a wee pint. The pub was fantastic but before we finished our stout ,the waitstaff came over recovered us and immediately seated us. Great courtesy shown to weary tourists. The meal was fantastic and the place was lively and waitstaff attentive and charming. Menus and meals delightful. Can't wait to return! read more

They don't open until noon now, despite yelp's information. We had lunch here and it was great. They specifically list starters as also light lunch options which is how I see it, really. I got the seafood chowder which had great chunks of at least 3 kinds of fish and a great creamy soup base. Joe got fish and chips and the fish was so so so good, we probably should have swapped plates from the beginning for the amount we split our food. The waitress and manager were both accommodating and we were in and out in a reasonable amount of time. Smaller menu than most I've seen but I still wanted to try more than a meals worth of dishes.
