Such an amazing restaurant!! A must try if you're in Waterford. To start, the service was amazing, our waitress was so so kind and orders were taken and food was out right on time. As a starter we ordered the special? which was bruschetta with buratta and tomatoes. The bread was grilled an amazing, and although so simple it was insanely good. The buratta was the best i've ever had. For entrees, my group ordered the orecchiette pasta with sausage and the sirloin steak. The pasta was out of this world delicious, and the steak was really wonderful. The ambiance in the restaurant is really nice, it's well lit and well decorated. My friend and I had no idea where to go for dinner, so we meet the Yelpers assist, and they did not disappoint! This place is AMAZING! Staff are local and friendly and got can tell they are running as fast as they can to keep up with the attention the delicious food is creating. Lovely people, so be sure to give them credit as well. We had the Fish and Chips (battered in the local Metalman craft beer) and the baked smoked haddock and the food was to die for!! A 1/3 carafffe of wine gives you two glasses of wine and while you can go for an early bird special, I would simply recommend that you come here on an off-day (Monday - Wednesday) and fully enjoy the lovely menu. read more

When your guide book says go to here and Yelp says to go here then you should probably go check it out. Bodega was a highlight meal for us on our road trip of Ireland. I went for the fish and chips and some soup. I can't recall what kind of soup it was, I want to say cauliflower (I had a lot of soup on the trip). I remember it being quite good and very flavorful. The fish and chips blew my mind though. Both the guide book and the reviews recommended it and I can see why. I'm not a big seafood guy, but when you are in a country that does it well you must try it. I had a lot of fish and chips on this trip, and this was by far the best I've ever had. I don't even really like seafood and I would order this again and again given the option. It was perfectly cooked, the crust was just thick enough, and it had such a delicious flavor. I had to fight my mom and husband from taking it all off my plate. The service was spotty but ok. Our waitress didn't really speak English and had a hard time understanding what we wanted. The bartender/head waitress did a good job of stepping in and helping when needed, but still giving the girl a chance to learn. I don't think our meal suffered in anyway because of the new waitress learning the ropes. If you find yourself in Waterford you would be doing yourself a disservice by not going here. Even you if you aren't hungry, go here still. 90/100 read more

I visited Waterford recently and it was our 9 year anniversary. So I looked up the best restaurant on yelp and found Bodéga to be it. I booked a table and then I decided to look it up on the Beoir app to see if they had any decent beer. They did it seems so I was even happier. On arriving, I was presented with a table by the entrance showing bottles of all their Irish craft Beer. I sat down to be presented with a wine menu and a beer menu. The range would not be as good as a pub but for a restaurant, it was excellent. The waiter gave us the normal menus and also brought over a blackboard with the specials. I elected to go for for the game of the day which was rabbit wrapped in bacon. It was fantastic. My wife went for a thick juicy steak and it was one of the best steaks she has ever had in Ireland. Often when she asks for a medium rare steak, it can by dry or tough. This melted like butter and was exactly the right temperature and cooking level. The best part is that it's quite reasonably priced. You can easily have a main course for under €20 though I think my rabbit was about €23-€24 with the steak being €26-€28 or so. Beer was a reasonable €5.50 for a 500ml bottle. read more

Booked a table for 7pm, by the time we were served food it was almost 8pm. Having confirmed that there was only fish (hake) in the hake bake and no prawns or shellfish, it arrived full of mussels. Ordered dessert but before the desert arrived we were asked to give up our table for another customer. We were given our desserts in doggy bags and told there was no where else to seat us. We were looking for a flavorful, light lunch before afternoon touring, and Yelp led us to Bodega. Best meal we have had in Ireland so far. An artistic, slightly bohemian atmosphere. Interesting menu -- my vegetarian cousin and I had pumpkin and lentil sliders that were delicious. My aunt ordered what she later declared was the best ham and cheese sandwich she'd ever eaten. Went for lunch a few weeks ago with my girlfriend. We both had the spiders and a bottle of wine which were recommended to us by a friend. We each received two sliders, one lamb and one beef, with a pot of home cut fries. The food was amazing. Really different and tasty. The staff were amazing, very helpful and understanding when my girlfriend said she didn't eat lamb so instead gave another beef one. Price was reasonable. Look forward to going again. read more

I saw that Bodega had won a place on top 100 restaurants in Ireland as I was researching my stay in Waterford and I put it on my list of places I would like to eat. I wasn't sure the parents would be as excited, but, as luck would have it, most places were closed on Monday night and this place was invitingly open. So I asked if they had any availability as we didn't have reservations and they seated us immediately. Yay! The decor in this place has a Spanish or Mediterranean vibe. Funky, eclectic decor with colorful paintings on the wall that were for sale. We had a cool, colorful light above us that I also couldn't stop looking at. The space is small up front as the bar is taking up some of the room, but it opens up a bit more in the back of the room. Latin music was playing in the background. So I first ordered some wine. They have a huge wine list to choose from as well as a full bar and also craft and local beers to choose from. There was a Waterford beer, so my dad had that while I had a glass of malbec. We hadn't eaten since breakfast so I ordered us a seafood platter as a starter and then we each ordered an entree rather than going for the set menu that was available. They put a chalkboard of the specials on a chair in front of your table as you are deciding which is nice because you don't have to remember the options. The seafood platter had a lot of different items like fried cod, some lobster rolls, crab cakes, and other items that I cannot even remember. We loved it. For dinner I had the pork belly which was served with sauerkraut, potatoes, carrots, green beans, and broccoli. My parents got the fish and chips. This pork belly was a HUGE slab of pork belly - never have had such a big piece. I don't normally like sauerkraut either, but it all went together nicely and had a great flavor. Vegetables were fresh and bright. The entire dinner was excellent and it all was fresh and locally sourced. After leaving this place I was full and super PLEASED! What a great restaurant with a fun atmosphere and delicious food. Not your typical Irish restaurant - more an Irish restaurant PLUS. DEFINITELY come here if you are in Waterford. read more

Have had many meal in the Bodega over the years and all have been top quality. The staff are very friendly, particularly the manager, who seems to have a permanent smile! The menu is a great mix with unusual twists such as the lamb blaa burger and venison pie - delicious. Bodega has a great selection of wine and artisan beer and the atmosphere is very relaxed, informal and great for a big crowd. I brought a toddler with me for an early lunch and we were given a free bowl of mass and gravy - very thoughtful I can't recommend it highly enough. read more

Perfect! Just a short walk from our hotel on the marina. Our hotel had this place on a map that was in our room. The sign on the building said "from farm to fork" and it tasted true to this phrase. I had the smoked salmon salad with the marinated cucumbers! Very refreshing. Next, the lamb slider with their special greens and sauce were incredible. Then, I dug into the beef one! Yum! Home made fries on the side with a great dipping sauce. We each had the fixed price early bird special three course dinner. As I did not want an "over the top dessert," I asked if I could substitute the ice cream with hot fudge sauce and that was no problem for them. Good bread and the olive spread was outstanding! Our first meal in Ireland after being travelling for about 30 hours. The location was suggested by a woman working at the hotel desk, our only requirements being non-touristy, relaxed and relatively quick. Relaxed, yes... but not so quick. The place has a very hip asian/middle eastern vib to it (remember, 30 hours of travel before this so my memory may not be completely sharp). A decent wine list, heavy on South African selection as I recall, but we just ordered by the glass - a bottle would have been too much for that night. I had a crispy duck with curry dinner and I was pleased. Not a typial choice for American Tourists in Ireland, but that was exactly what we wanted anyway. read more

Their menu is interesting in that many of the items are samplings of a few different items.
