40 degrees on an afternoon, feeling cold and peckish. I stopped in the ally entrance of the Ginger Man in downtown Waterford. I didn't know what to expect but it looked cool from the outside and full of customers on the inside, many locals speaking Irish. We were invited in and put through the typical COVID protocols before being seated. Our orders were taken quick and I was soon to be warming up to an Irish Whisky. My dinner was simple, Hot Pot aka Irish stew with real potatoes and thick stewed beef and vegetables. Bit was awesome! I finished it with some hearty brown bread and there was nothing left but the crockery when I was done! Thank you for a great meal! Johnnie

Amazing staff! Our first stop for our Ireland tour. Food was great and the bartender was so friendly. On our list to come back to!

Our group ordered the All Day Breakfast and Tuna Melt. The food portions were generous, the employees friendly, and the service was quick. Great pub and quick place to get lunch.

Steak sandwich with peppercorn gravy! So good! Highly recommend this sandwich.

The food and ambiance was awesome. All our food came in time and the wait staff was super friendly and attentive. We picked this place randomly on our visit to Waterford and we were not disappointed. Highly recommend the beef sandwich with chips and make sure they add the peppercorn gravy. You'll love it.

I had only been in Ireland for a couple of days before finding this one. I found many of the staff members working in the restaurants in Dublin to be very stand-offish and rude. My mom and I received looks of annoyance. Once I had gotten to Waterford, it was completely different. The staff was great. They were so nice, kept our drinks full, and continuously checked in to make sure we were doing okay. The atmosphere was great. Very clean and cozy. The menu is simple and the food is tasty!! Ps: this meal is the mini Irish breakfast

I love the Gingerman. I've went countless times and I'll continue to keep going back. Their set menu is pretty simple but the food is always fantastic. Their specials are amazing too and I always find it so hard to pick. What really keeps me coming back is the staff, who are some of nicest people. No matter when I've went, I've always gotten the best service here, and it's clear that the staff are just genuinely lovely people.

Cod and chips; and fab "hot pot".

I decided to go with their seafood chowder, which turned out to be the best I had over our vacation throughout the country and one of the 3 best dishes I had overall.

This is probably the best boozer in Waterford, especially if you're a Craft Beer fan like myself…read more There is a great range of local Waterford beers from Metalman and Dungarvan as well as other Irish breweries. There's also an excellent range of European beers and that's just the tap selection. There is also a large selection of bottled beer as well as a cask beer hand pump. Dungarvan's excellent Black Rock Stout was on cask when I was there. Apart from the range of beers is a wonderfully congenial atmosphere. People don't come here for loud music and dancing. In fact it took me a few hours to even notice there was music playing. The loudest location for music is in the toilets. In the rear bar, it's only just noticeable and you can barely hear anything up front. This meant that it was the perfect place to spend the whole night chatting. I love how the front and rear bars are separated by an old western saloon type swinging door. There's also an upstairs area that you can reserve with your own bar, though the beer selection up there is just two taps of the usual suspects. At one point I popped out to check out Revolution and I promptly returned to Phil Grimes to see the return of my sanity. It's worth mentioning that while they don't serve food, they have a deal with a local pizza place, pizza is delivered to the pub. €10 for a pizza and a pint and the pizza is pretty damn good. Fantastic place.

While we were visiting Waterford, we went to the museum, picked out an item and had something beautifully sketched for us, which was great. And we asked the bartender where would be a great place to have some great food. He gave us a couple options and he was like if he wants some seafood go to this place if you want some pub food definitely check out Geoff's. Walking up it's in the middle of the atrium that they have there where they do a lot of different types of shows. There are a few tables outside that you can take a seat out if you want to. We decided to sit inside. It's very pubish inside and just like you would imagine every other restaurant in Ireland. When in Ireland, you were going to have to drink beer and that is definitely what we had. My partner had a gin and tonic service was great. We sat in this cute little off the bar seating it was hidden and very romantic. Sometimes the bartender would pop out of nowhere and surprise you. I ordered the stew which was pleasantly delicious! It was the color of an orange curry and on top was this crusty delicious nutty bread. My dish also came with a side salad and french fries so it was a lot of food for the amount of the price. My partner ordered the burger and the burger was delicious perfectly cooked. Couldn't ask for anything better. This has been one of my favorite places of all times to go eat while you're visiting and Ireland especially when you're in Waterford. Thank you for making my Waterford trip spectacular. I had a great time eating my way through.
