There's also an excellent range of European beers and that's just the tap selection. There is also a large selection of bottled beer as well as a cask beer hand pump. Dungarvan's excellent Black Rock Stout was on cask when I was there. Apart from the range of beers is a wonderfully congenial atmosphere. People don't come here for loud music and dancing. In fact it took me a few hours to even notice there was music playing. The loudest location for music is in the toilets. In the rear bar, it's only just noticeable and you can barely hear anything up front. This meant that it was the perfect place to spend the whole night chatting. I love how the front and rear bars are separated by an old western saloon type swinging door. There's also an upstairs area that you can reserve with your own bar, though the beer selection up there is just two taps of the usual suspects. At one point I popped out to check out Revolution and I promptly returned to Phil Grimes to see the return of my sanity. It's worth mentioning that while they don't serve food, they have a deal with a local pizza place, pizza is delivered to the pub. €10 for a pizza and a pint and the pizza is pretty damn good.
