If you are ever in Dungarvan, you must absolutely stop here and eat! The traditional Irish stew is absolutely amazing! Huge serving of beef and vegetables and, of course, I had to have the chips! I followed up this delicious entree with a slice of lemon cheesecake! If they have this cheesecake in stock, you would be remiss to miss out!
This restaurant has incredible service and always ensures you are fully topped off on your water. After my initial visit, I came one last time to enjoy the meat pie! Oh my gosh, I wish they had this where I live in the states. Super moist and tasty! It came with 2 scoops of mashed potatoes. This was the best mashed potatoes I have ever had! No joke. After being stuffed and knowing this was my last meal in Dungarvan, I ate TWO desserts, much to my dinner guests amazement. First I had the Coffee Hazel Cake. Absolutely super moist, chocolatey, and delicious, especially when paired up with vanilla ice cream! That's a winning combination! And for dessert number 2, I was able to finish off the Orange Chocolate Cheesecake! I love chocolate and I love cheesecake, but orange flavored?! I'm adventurous, and boy was I surprised! What an incredible pairing! Needless to say, I finished everything. Was that it? Nope. I also bought a fudge Brownie to enjoy on my plane ride back. In hindsight, I should have bought 2 brownies! Anyway I highly recommend you stop by the Shamrock for food that is fresh, local, homemade, tasty, and filling! read more
