The sophisticated well and irrigation system on our Napa property was built by McLean & Williams for the prior owners, and it is a work of art. They have come to my rescue several times since, most memorably when our pump controller failed during peak irrigation season and threatened the vineyard and landscaping. Gonzalo and his crew responded immediately, diagnosed it fast, fixed it, and kept the cost down. No drama, no upsell, just deep expertise. The best in Napa for wells and irrigation. Highly recommended. read more

Would not recommend. It took them 4 months to give me a quote, just to give me a quote that was $30,000 more than the quotes I got from other drillers. Wasted my time and lost me thousands of dollars waiting for them to give me a quote. Terrible. read more

Since buying my home in Angwin I have been depending on the superb service provided by McLean & Williams. They helped me with my original well and provided service to optimize its output. When my 40 year old well's output became an issue. They proposed and implemented a new well. The new well's output surpasses that of my old well significantly. I no longer need a tank. Recently, the pipe from my well to my house gave out. I had not upgraded the connection when the new well was installed to save money. M&W provided a temporary fix the same day and designed a permanent replacement. Last week their great crew installed a new line. I have been continuously impressed by the level of service and professionalism the whole team at McLean & Williams have provided. read more

Gonzalo is amazing with his knowledge of wells. I'm new to this topic and he really explained how wells work and gave details for a specific property I was interested it. He seemed to know from memory what the status was and gave suggestions and different price options for improvement. I highly recommend Gonzalo of McLean & Williams for your well development and maintenance. read more

Incredibly expensive prices plus they charge to come give estimates. They are too busy to care about keeping longtime customers. Quality of work was very poor. The tech opened a water valve and never closed it before leaving. The tanks slowly drained out. Use company as last resort. read more

We live just outside of Saint Helena and it's very hard to get anyone to respond to our home for any type of services. At around 11 o'clock in the morning we noticed that we had very little water pressure, I looked up on Yelp and called this company. They were out for lunch but promptly returned my phone call about 30 minutes later. They said they would get someone out within a few hours which I actually didn't believe. About 45 minutes later they called and said the tech was on the way. Miguel responded and quickly went to work. He was out on our property for about an hour and fixed everything. The following morning the office staff called to make sure that we were happy and everything was still working fine. In this day and age to receive such stellar and professionalism from both the office staff and the responding technicians is unreal. Highly recommended. read more

had an issue with our well and called them. Katie called me back to schedule an appointment. they came out within 2 days and did a complete service along with some repairs that were needed. Jose explained and answered all questions i had. worth every dollar it cost to have them come out and service our well. highly recommend this company. read more

Terrible company. Reached out to them nearly a year ago with the understanding that they are busy and a few weeks behind on work before getting to restoring my well. They came out to do the inspection and offered to do the work if I don't need a quote first. I am no idiot so I asked for a quote before agreeing to move forward. After nearly a year and 10+ follow ups by phone and email, I have yet to receive a quote. read more

Gonzalo and the whole staff have always responded promptly and provided great service when needed. I have no hesitation recommending them. Very professional and knowledgeable, and a great family operation. read more

Gonzalo and his team have been working for us for over ten years. The team's work is excellent, thorough, and well explained. They are prompt and professional and completely trustworthy. We are so grateful for his and the team's expertise. read more

Gonzalo came to my property to give a quote on a well site replacement. After a week I called to get an update, the snotty person that answered said Gonzalo is not available. I left my info and waited another week to call and got the same rude treatment. I asked the person that referred this company to try calling, he was told that they intend to do the job but are very busy. We wasted seven weeks waiting on these guys and finally woke up to the fact that this company is not only very unprofessional but are willing to put customers at risk of losing crops and fire protection. read more

We needed a new well. Brian and Jamie were two of the hardest workers I have ever seen. Often did above and beyond.

So this city boy that turned Country about 10 years ago is very lucky to have McLean & Williams on his side.... PG&E came out and fixed a tagged pole on my property. They leave, I walk into my kitchen and no water! What a coincidence. After checking the usual suspects of water not coming out of the well I called Mclean & Williams at 3:30 PM. At 5:30 PM water was restored! And I live at a what most categorize as a remote location. In the days where everything is voicemail, texts, emails, I talked with 3 people in 20 minutes prior to the technician coming out to fix the problem. Communication is such a key issue these days that often gets dropped. Everyone I dealt with was pleasant and personable. Thanks guys, you made a stressful day less so, and I did enjoy a shower that I didn't think I was going to have before I called. read more

Good people, reliable, and they did a fairly extensive, long overdue series of projects that almost immediately increased my well flow and improved the overall quality of the water coming into my house on Mt. Veeder Road. read more

With all that is going in right now, we forgot to have our backflow tested. We got a letter from the city telling us we needed to do it right away. I called McLean and Williams and they took excellent care of us. They took care of the city and put us on their schedule, keeping us in the loop every step of the way. They are really nice, too! I highly recommend them. read more

I would make this 6 stars if I could. If you have a well that needs service, or need a new well...call these guys!! Excellent, professional, kind and knowledgeable are a few words I would apply to their service. Quick to respond, and during emergencies...such as after the earthquake when our storage tank broke...they came as soon as they could, when the crew was running on fumes to help everyone. I so appreciate this company. They're the best!! read more

I wish I was able to give these guys 5 stars! They did excellent work and were very responsive to my well equipment failing. However, more than 2 weeks later I'm still dealing with a small consistent leak they have not made the time to come back and fix. Also, the head guy was extremely difficult to deal with and pulled major attitude on me twice. Unfortunately, I'll be using someone else in the future. read more

Responsive, comprehensive, professional and on-time. Good service and would recommend them without reservation.

McLean and Williams recently helped us with a very difficult well repair. We had lost pressure in our system, had a significant hole in our casing at 250 feet deep, and two holes in our galvanized pipe. We had silt and debris in our system and were without water. McLean and Williams were wonderful to work with, they applied the best technology available, provided water and a temporary pump, and had the necessary parts machined for our well. We couldn't be happier. They employees were very knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with. We are very grateful for the services that we received from this company. read more

I have been working with McLean & Williams for 20 years since buying my house. Gonzalo's customer service over all these years has exceeded all my expectations. Having been a city girl before moving here, he has always been there to explain in detail any questions that I have. I highly recommend Gonzalo and the company to anyone who values the best. read more

My well had no water. I'd used McLean & Williams for many years with Shane responding intelligently and with common sense for repairs, improvements, and maintenance. When I called, Shane was no longer available and I dealt with Gonzalo. The well is old and after replacing numerous parts and installing pipe I still had no water or very little water. In discussing the issues, Gonzalo would become irritated saying I was "second guessing him". It was frustrating because I was trying to understand about the well and the expense but was not receiving clear answers. He responded in kind to my ex- husband and the realtor so I believe this is how he responds to customer's questions and was not about me. At first he did the work then called me with the invoice. When he'd suggest we try something different I asked him about cost up front whereupon he'd reluctantly give me an estimate. I spent over $11,000 only to find out a new well was what was needed. I really wish Id been able to deal with Shane. Needless to say I'm having my new well installed by a different company who is personally highly recommended. read more

Fantastic service. Forty years ago McLean & Williams drilled my well and set up the pumping system. Today they replaced my entire pump system in the middle of the largest rainstorm in four years to hit Napa. The job could have been delayed for better weather and drier vineyard clay/mud but no they committed so they did it. Excellent crew.. read more

My well pump failed at 8:30 am - and it was completely replaced including new pipe by 5:30 pm the same day. It was difficult to access the well after twenty years of landscaping, but it was done with a minimum of damage. I was very pleased with the response and the quality of the work. read more

McLean & Williams took a manifold which my husband designed and designed the perfect connecting piping to best meet our goals. Not only did they totally support his plans but even were able to improve upon the original plan by utilizing steel piping, which they designed and fabricated. My husband had thought we would have use plastic in some areas but they were able to figure out how to use the steel to make things stronger and give greater service life. So pleased were we with the knowledge, professionalism and quality of work that we immediately went on to use McLean & Williams for a second project: we ordered and purchased from them a new turbi-float pump for the vineyard irrigation pond. Again, both Gonzalo and Shane gave excellent recommendations and advice. The pump and necessary support gear have been beautifully installed. All in all, we could not be happier with the services provided us by McLean & Williams. We will continue to use them for all appropriate needs. read more

I wish there was a way to give no stars. We are local property owners in Napa and thought it would be nice to have a local well company help us. We have now been waiting a week for a bid that was supposed to be complete in two days. The tech had the nerve to tell us to expect him to be late for every appointment. The receptionist is rude and unhelpful. I was put on hold in an attempt to get me off the phone only to be told that the tech would get back to us. He never did. read more

I'm only giving 4 stars because we decided not to go ahead with drilling. However, Gonzalo was very courteous; he inspected the proposed location and communicated well with us regarding the project's feasibility. read more

These are the best in the business. When I called them a few months ago, they gave me a bid over the phone for a pump that no one else to knew anything about. They came a few days later, and replaced it and charged me the same price they quoted on the phone. Very professional and on time. Thank you! read more
