Great cozy little restaurant with solid sandwiches and amazing desserts Definitely a great comfort food restaurant

Loved this little local spot. Gives the vibe of a small town cafe right in the heart of Edmond. Menu is small, but the taste makes up for it, you could order anything and it would be yummy. Make sure to get a baked good with your meal cookies, brownies, lemon bars all taste test approved read more

Been going here for over 20 years and i still love it. Homemade sandwiches, delicious treats, and potato salad. Love the egg salad sandwich, chicken salad, and brownies! Definitely a little gem in Edmond. read more

Loved their croissant sandwiches and had their tomatoe Basil soup!! Yum!!! Great lunch place!

Came in and expected to be super impressed. The menu is small but I found the turkey avocado croissant and was excited to try it. It's $8 I think and my boyfriends was about the same because our total was $16. I'm sorry but I can go get a small burger, hotdog, and a regular fry from Five Guys for the same price and actually feel full. Plus I have leftovers! I have already ate my tiny Trump hands sized sandwich and I could eat probably two more to fill me up. This should at least come with a side for this steep price. The sandwich was just ok and my croissant was smashed. Very disappointed. Where should I go to fill up the rest of my stomach? read more

McLaren's Pantry - Pretty small for how expensive it is. It could at least come with some chips or a side. - Sandwiches Near Me - Edmond, Oklahoma

Its OK. The food is good but not great and it is pretty expensive for what you get. If you go over lunch expect a longer wait

If I had to use one word to describe McLaren's, it would be: UNDERWHELMING. Two words, you ask? OVER PRICED. A patient of the office I work at brought me a gift card for this place yesterday, so of course I went to check it out. I couldn't find prices at any of the places I checked online, so I wasn't sure what to expect. (Not to worry for all of you planning a visit, I've uploaded a photo.) I pulled in to a packed parking lot which is usually a good sign. The dining area was pretty full, mostly of older ladies chatting while having lunch. There was no line, which was nice. After glancing at the menu, I knew that if I was paying with my own money, I would have turned and walked out, but since I had a gift card, I didn't. I ordered a spinach quiche, which says it comes with a side of fruit salad, and I also ordered a cup of the Wisconsin Cheddar soup. I was told to have a seat and they would call me up when it was ready and I'd pay then. I was surprised at how small the quiche was considering it was two quarters shy of $10. (That's right. $9.50 for a Banquet Pot Pie size quiche.) The soup came the size I expected to see. And it also came with a mint. Once I got to my table, I realized there was no fruit salad so I had to go ask if that was a thing or not. The girl at the front quickly realized she forgot and turned to the mini fridge behind her and handed me a tiny cup of fruit. (See photo for entire meal.) My order came out to almost $14. I kind of feel ripped off to be completely honest. The quiche was soggy. Like it was cooked over the weekend and then popped in the microwave when I ordered it. Tasted like dog breath. You could tell that if it were fresh, the crust would be crispy and flaky, but it was incredibly wet. I couldn't finish it. The soup tasted like an off brand canned soup you'd get at Walmart and I wouldn't be surprised if that's what it was. Sadly, the fruit is the only thing that tasted good and unfortunately that was the smallest portioned thing at my table. As I was dining, I was observing the workers. I noticed a lot of food touching and a lot of no hand washing. There was a lot of hands being wiped on the side of their pants, though, as to "clean" them before touching something else. So beware if you have any type of food allergy. There was a lot of cross contamination going on. One girl stuck her hand in a bucket of soapy, blue water to fish out the rag to wipe down tables, then she returned the rag and went back to making food. The sink was visible and she didn't use it. Needless to say, I have $11 left on my gift card and if I do happen to go back, I'll just be buying cookies. read more

They have completely changed their brownie formula. They put nuts in all their brownies, and they've changed their icing to a whip type icing not the heavy buttercream. read more

Amazing pastries with amazing prices!!! There are so many great sweets to choose from!!

One of OKC's best gems when it comes to "hole in the wall" bakeries. And after their move to the shopping center across the way, that hole in the wall has gotten a bit bigger with ample seating for the lunchtime set. It's delightfully old-school with its Mary Engelbreit wallpaper and its cute encouragement decals on the walls. The cookies. Oh the cookies. The chocolate chip and snickerdoodles are the bomb dot com, with just the right amount of gooey in the middle even once cooled. Sugar cookies aren't normally my "jam" but their decorated ones are as cute as they are tasty. Big highlight is Easter where they make adorable bunnies with marshmallow tails. When in the OKC area, be sure to visit this haven of deliciousness. read more

Best sandwiches and a excellent choice of yummy treats! Great place to pop in and have lunch or pick up take out.

I was excited a little mom and pop shop and bakery. The tuna was like a egg salad with hard chunks of tuna mixed into it, so disappointing. My husband had a turkey sandwich and it was very light on fillings. I will say my daughter loved their tortilla soup and the staff was super friendly. read more

Sandwiches are great, staff is great, I'm really only giving thee stars bc I'm so disappointed in the baked goods. I got a pineapple coconut bar and let me say, it tasted neither like coconut or pineapple but like someone had dumped an entire bottle of almond extract in there. Which sucks bc almond is the worst flavor and I was expecting something tropical and delish and instead was met with total disappointment. read more

One of my favorite places in south Edmond. I've been coming for 20 years. While the food selection is not very large, what they have is good. The cookies and dessert bars are fabulous. The sandwiches are also tasty. Portions of both are just right. The staff at McLaren's are always very nice and helpful and the 'new' location accommodates many more customers. My only request would be coffee :-) read more

I have lived McLarens Pantry since I first ate there in the late 80's. The business has changed location and owner, but has kept the same menu and recipes. The current owner was an employee to the original owner. I always like to get the chicken salad on croissant sandwich special, with a side of chips and a baked yummy bar, brownie or lemon square! It is my fave chicken salad, and the treats are all so very delicious. The food never fails! It is always great. I have had many luncheons here with my girlfriends, family members, and my son over the last 30 years. I appreciate that some of the oldies are still goodies! Thanks, McLarens! read more

This is a little hidden cafe on the corner of eastern and 33rd and I somehow in spite of living less than a block away have managed to not even see this gem until a few months ago. They are a bakery/restaurant and everything I have had here is great. They have croissant sandwiches that taste homemade. The cranberry croissant is my favorite, but the avocado one is fantastic as well. Then their cookies--I'm not normally a cookie person, but I can never resist grabbing one when I'm here. They make them daily right there in the bakery and they have so many to choose from! If you're having a party, they are a good place to get some sweets. read more

My mother in law brought me lunch from here a few times when I was on maternity leave and home with the baby. How great is that? She comes to help me, and brings me lunch! But, since I'd never been in, I didn't think I should review it. My doctor is in Edmond, so after I left a successful check up this week, I decided to find McLaren's and see for myself. I only had about 30 minutes between arriving here and needing to get on a conference call, but 30 mins was plenty of time here, though I did arrive a good 30 minutes before the lunch rush. I was thankful for other reviews that pointed me toward the Tailgate. An excellent choice indeed. I had a wonderful ham and cheese on croissant, with fruit, two cookies and tea. Yes, I happily ate both cookies - one with my meal and one hours later while driving down the road and happily remembered my snickerdoodle sitting there. Clean as a whistle, friendly staff, very quick service. Maybe a little more than your average shop, but you could tell it was also much better ingredients than your average shop. read more

Lied about ingredients in food. I have food allergies, so spent rest of day covered in hives and in the bathroom. Thanks.

Looking for a light lunch and this hit the spot! Clean interior delicious sandwiches. We will be back.

I was so excited to see that they have bierocks as I've had their cookies before and they are good. My grandparents are German and my grandma loves baking, so I grew up making bierocks. The beirocks were bland and for both the quality and size they were way overpriced!! When the lady handed me the to go box, I literally thought it was just an empty box. The bierocks came with a side and I chose their pasta salad which came in a disposable little ramekin. I might as well of saved the calories bc it was tasteless as well. Disappointing, if you can't do it well, don't do it at all. read more

Great little local place. Sandwiches are great but the no bake cookies are a must have!

This place has my favorite sandwich in the world. Turkey Croissant. About twice a week I start to lose my concentration until I can put one of these down my throat. And that's about how it is -- I don't really perceive what's going on until it's over. The food is so good it numbs my perception of reality. Also, the Dr. Pepper at their soda fountain mixed with the sheet ice they concoct in their kitchen is the next greatest thing in my life after my wife. That is unless we have a fight . . . then the Dr. Pepper goes up to #1. I've said too much. read more

Great little spot, good sandwiches and great bakery, but I can't recommend it for a working lunch. It has a lady's tea room vibe for non-working Edmondite moms who are in between tennis lessons and picking up their kids from soccer practice. And personally, I can't afford $10+ for a M-F lunch. Nice staff and good food though. read more

Can be pricey but the desserts are to die for. Everyone is nice and they can get busy sometimes but they are usually very fast. I love to stop here for lunch! The yummy bar is just like it's name, yummy! I get one everytime! read more

I got a chicken salad sandwich. I thought they had accidentally given me tuna when I ate the first half. I realized on the second half that it was just pulverized canned chicken mixed with relish the same as tuna would. My husband tried a bite and confirmed that it was heinous. He had a turkey sandwich on wheat. It was literally just like something you could have made at home. Regular ass walmart sliced wheat bread and everything. Don't even get me started on the strange ass ingredient choices for the two tablespoons of pasta salad they serve as a side. Huge, hard raw carrot chunks, red beans and raw broccoli? I feel pretty damn sick about eating half of a canned chicken salad sandwich that tasted like tuna, especially because we paid almost $20 for that crap. I could have made lunch myself at home for less and it would have tasted WAY better. Don't do it, ever. read more

I've been coming here for years and it's one of my favorite spots in town. With that being said, I was pretty disappointed with my latest visit. We got the broccoli cheese soup and were unhappy with the choice after a few spoonfuls. We tried to take it back or switch it out but were told no and that we could buy something else if we wanted. To me, this was poor customer service. After paying 18 bucks for a sandwich and some bad soup, I'm thoroughly frustrated. read more

Great customer service. Order the tailgate special for $9. It's the best deal. ALL their soups and desserts are on point. You may think the serving portions aren't enough for your money, but IT REALLY IS FILLING!!!! read more

My mom would bring me here as a kid and I've always loved it. I live in LA now and still make a point to come here when I get into town. Best no-bake cookies you'll ever have. Came here for lunch on Sat, it was packed with patrons. Since that's my first time here i asked the workers for recommendation. They recommended me to get the Tailgate where it comes with sandwich, one side and dessert(either two cookies or a bar) for only 8 bucks! I had their crab salad crossaint, it was very good! and i heard that their Quiche is pretty good too that's what i'm gonna try on my next visit. People are friendly and nice.
