Decided to try 'firehouse subs' after many years of never being intrigued by the menu. I should add this "experience" was via door dash, not in store. We order 2 bags of chips, 1 - medium honey ham & 1 medium turkey. When the order arrived, the chips had been forgotten. Okay, cool but whatever. When biting into my sandwich, the bread did an unfamiliar squeak as I bite into it, like from the "gloss" on the bread. It was so high pitch in my mouth, it tickled my ears. Lol I'm not even making this up! Then the sad, luke warm, moisture-d flavor of honey ham but with a consistency of beef-jerky meets roast-beef. I understand being delivered by door dash is going to cool food, I am unbothered by other experiences with door dash in the past. So to me, it falls on the restaurant. Sometimes the restaurant isn't equipped for delivery and it results in a inferior experience of their food. Came in to get a steamer and a meatball sub, both medium so nothing major or too difficult. As a previous firehouse employee I'm aware of how long it takes for the bread to toast and the meat to steam. Tell me ytf my steamer was cold when I got it, oh right. That's because it fucking sat there because the teenagers were too engaged in their convo to realize there was more then just a meatball sub on that order. I LOVE Firehouse! They are my favorite sub shop. The bread is so soft and yummy. I love the Cpt. Sorrenson's sauce too. The menu isn't huge, but what they have is the best. 1 star for the following reasons: 1) They were doing something with the ceiling tiles while making sandwiches. Large, noticeable, pieces of insulation fell onto the makeline. The containers were not closed and staff continued making food during and after the insulation falling. 2) I asked for no onions and received onions on my sandwich.
