The girl that did my pedi took for ever (over 1 hour) & she kept messing up. It wasn't the best job I've had before. Decided to try it with another technician & it wasn't so bad. I was a bit nervous coming from a long trusted stylist in Philadelphia to the small town of Long Valley when I moved to the area. But of course, Yelp for the win, I was able to vet a couple of salons and visited Stella Valentine for my next hair color and cut. I have been getting highlights/balayage/ombré for a little while and I am also trying to grow my hair out for my wedding in November. I explained what I wanted to Sami and she set out to take my color to more where I was envisioning it, which was a change from where it had been. I will admit, I'm also not the most forthcoming about what I want, mostly because I am just not highly educated on hair and beauty trends! I brought photos to help. After the first visit, I decided I definitely put my trust in Sami and would most definitely return! Now, months later my color is perfect and we are planning how to make my hair ideal for my wedding. I already have my next two appointments booked!! The price is very reasonable for the amount of detail put into my style, and the skill is superb! All of the women there are super friendly. You will not be disappointed if you're looking for a professional look. I just wish I could make my hair look this good every single day!!

Where do I even begin with my experience here. I'll start off by saying at first I was under the…read moreempression Connie was a kind professional person, and she was until I went back the next day because she did a botched job with my perm. I gave her a full history didn't leave anything out my hair is pretty healthy pin straight and thick. She knew all of this before doing the Perm. I told her I didn't want to look like a poodle I should her pictures she said she could do it. Even before I left the salon that day I notice my ends were straight she even noticed it and she said it's just SOME pieces you can take a curling wond like this and it will be fine. So I left happy my hair looked with more volume it was still pretty wet, as it got more dry the more straight it it looked my mom lifted hair in the back and chunks of hair were frizzy but pin straight. I wake up the next day and now more then half my hair is straight I call her I go in and she flat irons my hair, which I thought was weird because my hair looked so dried out dead lifeless but she flat irons it and tells me see your hair looks healthy it wasn't my products or anything I did mind you my hair didn't look healthy so I tell her what she is going to do to fix it she would give me a straight answer I told her I was beyond unhappy and she goes on blaming my hair that I don't know how to style that I can't expect to wake up like the pictures. And of course I didn't expect that I knew I had to do some work but this wasn't the problem the problem was that more then half my hair was straight I kept interrupting her because she was giving bs excuses instead of owning up that she messed up so she begins to YELL at me yes o said YELL full blown YELLING at me a pay customer. I naturally got upset but even being upset I didn't say anything back to her while she continued YELLING at me. Then she goes still YELLING I will not have anyone bad mouth my salon! And you see if she would have owned up to her mistake gave me a solid plan to fix it I wouldn't have said anything, but no she blamed my hair that I didn't know how to style it that this that everything but I never heard a I'm sorry you are so un satisfied. And on top she yelled at me! So I asked for my refund and as I'm walking out she's still yelling I can hear her from the parking lot. Then she calls my sister the one who recommended me to her and goes to say I wasn't paying attention when she was explaing that I kept interrupting her and a bunch of other bs, but not once did she mention her yelling or why she thought it was okay to yell at a customer who didn't come to her in any disrespectful way. I was upset my hair looked like shit because I didn't pay $140 for my hair to look like I braided it and let the braids out the next day and then put my hair in fire! She messed up and till this day I haven't gotten a apology! And after that day I went home waited the 48 hours to wash my hair because she made me think maybe it was my hair so I washed it after the 48 hours and did exactly what she told me and I even watched hair tutorials and guess what after the 48 hours now my hair was straight from root to about 2 inches down then curly for about 4 inches then pin straight for the rest of my hair which is about another 7 inches so there was only 4 inches of curl on my hair that is boob length! Connie is beyond unperfessional she doesn't know what she's doing and if you are unhappy with your results she resorts to blaming you and your hair and not herself do not recommend this place to NO ONE!!!

When I asked for a thick (and short) toenail to be filed down, someone else instructed her how to do it. Every time I have had this done, they thin it in a rounded way so nail polish can go on normally. I do it myself at home and it's not a big deal. Instead, she only thinned it in one flat back and forth motion over top so it is oddly shaped and turned out looking like this (I eventually asked her to stop since she was getting so close to the skin). I appreciate how hard and long she worked, but I much prefer the result I do myself at home for $40 + $10 tip. I guess like with anywhere, it depends on who you get assigned.
