There was plenty of yellow cheese on toast and that's all I can say for the sandwich. You could still make out the shape of the sliced cheese when you open the sandwich so the cheese put on a warm bread, it was more like the bread was toasted, cooled, cheese slices were add and then the whole thing was either nuked or grilled for a few seconds. We're here visiting relatives in Maryland and they took us to this pub and I have to say that I'm very glad that they did because I've never really been in an Irish pub. The food was absolutely fantastic. The restaurant was very clean. The waiter was very friendly and treated us quite well and he checked on us often. Our food was very very delicious and I'm told that everything they serve is excellent and with what we got while we're visiting, we'll definitely have to come back here. Ordered wings and they came out way too pale for me so I ate one and asked them to remove the rest. She said she could take all of the wings except for the one I ate off my bill lol. My server was training and he seemed scared but he and his trainer did a good job getting us set up. My menu had some smushed peas or something stuck to it. The seemingly self-serve popcorn doesn't seem sanitary enough for me. Also my fries were served in a chalky metal bucket? That's gross I want yall to stop doing that lol. We've been going to this location for years. It's always busy and the servers are great and attentive. The food is hit or miss. Sometimes you can get a great roast beef sandwich and sometimes it's chewy or cold. Sadly, never consistent. Would love to see them update the restaurant and give it a thorough cleaning. We came here on a Friday 3:28 around 7:30pm. It was my wife and eight-year-old daughter waited to get service by the hostess for at least 30 to 40 minutes after we were told that the wait is only 15 minutes. She then proceeded while there are many open tables to pop popcorn for the next 20 minutes while we waited. We had to actually tell the host that there are open tables because we saw them already set next to us before she actually sat us down. It was the absolute worst experience super loud environment. Do not come here with families. Once we got seated person next to us was cursing loud. Had an altercation with the lady that tried to button in front of us in line who also cursed at my wife. Hostess should have told her that it wasn't her turn not us. read more

My reliable Delaware Irish Pub! This is a good, reliable place to stop at whenever you want to hang out with friends and family. I usually stick to a couple of small things and a nice big drink. There's music and TV along with a popcorn machine and a bar area that wraps around the center. My go-to food item is always the French onion soup. I could eat gallons of it, honestly. There really is nothing like a huge bowl of hot French onion soup made with tons of flavor and a nice tall Guinness beer. The service is good, I think the staff are nice but sometimes it's a little hard to communicate with loud noise and music. Project your voice and you should be golden! Overall, it's a classic American Irish Pub experience, and once in a while, they have some interesting specials to offer, such as for St. Patrick's day. I believe there are also some merchandise offerings at this location, such as a commemorative mug or a t-shirt. read more

This place is blah...if you're from the area you know this place as the spot you used to drink at in your early 20's and basically that's it. It's a typical chain restaurant with mediocre food. Me and my friend stopped here because it was late and the only place opened at the time. She ordered the salmon sandwhich and I order the Turkey sandwhich on a pretzel roll. First the salmon sandwhich was pretty small and the salmon pieces on the inside were dry and not flavorful. The Turkey sandwhich had so much honey mustard that I subbed in that I couldn't taste anything else but that. But the fries were fresh and good and the prices are cheap but the food reflects it. The staff here is SO. RUDE. The food is admittedly very good especially for a pub. The bar area is usually very busy so that speaks well for the drinks I suppose. The free popcorn is pretty yummy. Very much like movie theater popcorn. My wife really likes one of the dishes here. But that's the only reason I come. Every time I'm picking up and placing the order everyone from the hostess to the bartenders (the ones who take the order and money) are so rude to me. They act like I'm not even standing there and it's a physical pain to wait on me. When they finally bless me with service they're downright rude and sneer at me. I have been going to McGlynn's for years..and yesterday's visit sucked everything out of me.. We arrived just before 4:00 not busy 3 servers available chatting amongst themselves.. The three of us had to wait 20 minutes for someone to come over after I got out of the booth and waved one of them down, she them said " I will be with you in a minute"..and continued to chat.. Finally we gave our orders, it took 45minutes to get them, the shrimp was old and overcooked. I spit it out , was told I would get another order , that finally came 45 minutes later, the two people I was with had been completely done long before I got a fresh order of shrimp. Delivery via UberEats was quick, the driver came right to my house after picking up the food. My chili was room temp and had no flavor. I had to add hot sauce, cheese and sour cream, as that is my personal preference when eating chili. And apparently, chick peas are a thing that they think belong in chili. Went to dinner with my wife on a Saturday night. Ordered prime rib medium. Came out beyond well done. Obviously it wasn't edible, so sent it back. Came back medium color, but was cold. I decided not to send it back and packed it up to take home. I told the waitress and she told me that they've had lots of complaints lately about the prime rib. So for $23 I got to reheat it myself that night, while I ate a potato that was overcooked and watch my wife eat. Crap experience, and only an explanation from the waitress, no manager contact, apologies...nothing, didn't even offer a discount or take it off the bill after I said I'll just cook it myself. Actually that's not entirely true, the waitress did offer ME a free piece of desert. I declined, and tipped her well as she wasn't working in the kitchen. The food was ok, I mostly ate steamed shrimp and my kids the same. I would say overall, the service was the best part. Our server was very attentive and very friendly. It's one of the things I rave about when it comes to mcglynns but the lack of taste, the full onion peels that couldn't be eaten unless you used a fork and a knife and the last time I checked soup was meant to be eaten with a spoon, the temp was barley warm. This place gets more dingy every time I visit (6-10 times a year). Last night the girlie bar keep was pretty quick to take my order but then proceeded to stop and talk and get a drink for herself first. 5 minutes later she eventually served my beer. Sorry, as a former professional bartender this just doesn't cut it. I ordered a hot roast beef sandwich that turned out to be a hot mess. At a recent visit, I got a Cobb Salad but asked the waitress (we had a waitress & waiter take our order) to leave the turkey & bacon off, because I only wanted the chicken.
