He picked the table up and returned it. For those of you who do not know what a drum table is, the center of the table goes around. Mine was badly broken causing the top to be very tilted. I told Mr Burkett, if he could not fix the table to turn and just have the top be connected to the part that turns, I would have him do the job. He came over and looked at it and said he was pretty confident he could fix it. I also have my grandmother's secretary and one of the doors was too warped to close, he fixed that too and now it closes perfectly.

I was convinced I was going to have to drop several grand to replace my 10-year-old Room & Board sofa. He came in, diagnosed the issue immediately, and did a professional foam reinforcement and spring repair that has the couch sitting like it's *brand new* again. He even took the time to look at a neighbor's custom furniture repair while he was here and gave them solid, friendly advice on how to save their money. No high-pressure sales from this dude. I also got a cat that (by accident) broke some of the blinds panels... and in other instances, the blinds just stopped opening because the mechanisms broke. So I've been thinking about getting new blinds for quite a while, and I knew I wanted it to be something sturdier than the classic thin beige ones. I did some research, and realized the kind of blinds I wanted, but also learned that they could only be purchased through certain distributors. It seemed like a perfect opportunity to support a small local business, so that's how I stumbled upon Wills Decorating. I arrived one early afternoon and the place really did feel like a mini Lowes or something, hahaha. The man behind the counter was wrapping things up with another customer. I took the time to explore and I immediately found the blinds I had in mind. But I also saw these cool looking shades that could be opened from the bottom... AND top. And they had this cool honeycomb shape, I was intrigued! When the man was done, I found it his name was Michael, and he is one of the owners, and he's local local! He grew up near the same community I currently live. So we talked about blinds and shades, and we arranged for the co-owner, Valerie, to call me so we could schedule time for her to come over. Within a week she came, and I made some decisions that I am so delighted with now that the project is done. We discussed colors, I told her what my plans were for painting -- she was VERY efficient and professional. And she was also very friendly, willing to chat about my vision and give recommendations. Days later, she followed up with a quote and we made it happen. I had to pay half once I decided to move forward, and then the other half after installation. Another person, Dave, came and did the installation at every window. He came in the middle of a workday, and I told him when I had meetings -- he started with my office window, and I was worried about having to move my desk. He was able to easily work around it! He worked very quickly! I was thoroughly pleased with what he had done -- and it wasn't before long I had a follow-up conversation with Valerie and she was asking how everything looked. Dave had sent her some pics and she was as excited as me. All that to say, I am overjoyed and I'm looking forward to my next house upgrade (when I cool down, financially, haha).

I recently moved and my old couch no longer fits my new space. The couch I bad is able to have an…read more"L" shaped couch that had a removable piece at the base that could be made into an ottoman, should you ever just want a standard couch without the "L". The place I bought it from wanted to charge us $500 to create a new cushion to set atop the existing base, which not only felt pretty steep, but they estimated that it would take them a month or two to do the work. Since we already had the longer cushion, we shopped around to see if someone could just convert the longer cushion into a square, rather than creating a whole new cushion: enter Rainbow Upholstery. Not only was the owner incredibly responsive, his prices were more than fair and he was able to complete the work in 1-2 days, not months. I'm so happy with my new ottoman--it looks like it was always meant to look this way, and fits my new home so much better!
