He picked the table up and returned it. For those of you who do not know what a drum table is, the center of the table goes around. Mine was badly broken causing the top to be very tilted. I told Mr Burkett, if he could not fix the table to turn and just have the top be connected to the part that turns, I would have him do the job. He came over and looked at it and said he was pretty confident he could fix it. I also have my grandmother's secretary and one of the doors was too warped to close, he fixed that too and now it closes perfectly.

I was convinced I was going to have to drop several grand to replace my 10-year-old Room & Board sofa. Beyond the work, he was a pleasure to deal with. He even took the time to look at a neighbor's custom furniture repair while he was here and gave them solid, friendly advice on how to save their money. No high-pressure sales from this dude. He also specializes in 'sofa surgery' -- disassembling furniture to fit through those notoriously tight DMV hallways and elevators, then rebuilding it perfectly on the other side. We've learned that you definitely have to pay for quality solid wood furniture and there has been a bit of sticker shock for us. BUT, all that said, The Chair Shop clearly sells very high quality wooden chairs and tables (and lots of other stuff as well). We're very happy with the beautiful expanding table and chairs that have arrived so far, and are looking forward to the rest being delivered. Everyone in the shop was extremely friendly and helpful, but a special shout out to our salesman, Kowen (sp?), who was patient and honest with us through 3 trips to the store as we tried to make up our minds. One small word of advice: They have a decent selection in the store of pieces you can take right away, but most items need to be ordered and will take 6-8 weeks, so be prepared to plan ahead to get exactly what you want! I give it 3 $$$ because there is much cheaper furniture out there. However, considering the quality of the items, I'd give it 2 $$ for value.

Delivery / removal day went off without a hitch, just over a week from placing our order. Luis and Bryan were super professional - disassembling our Ekornes to ensure it would fit through our narrow stairway, and carefully hauling our new sofa up said stairway without a scratch. Wife and I couldn't be more pleased. We'll be ordering from Z Modern Furniture in the future, and recommend it to anyone who likes contemporary furniture.

I have a 2004 Toyota Solara that I inherited, and the soft top clearly hadn't been replaced before. They communicated well throughout the process, and I'd recommend coming in ahead of time so they can assess exactly what you'll need. In my case, they let me know I needed a rain gutter along with the replacement. They were also willing to install the top I provided (with the understanding that it wouldn't come with a warranty), which I appreciated. On top of that, they stayed after hours so I could pick up my car, which meant a lot. I know how much that can impact someone's day. The reason for 4 stars is that part of the interior lining came loose a few days after the installation. I got it done April 10th. I was able to fix one section, but not the rear. I do understand that since the top was provided and had been sitting uninstalled, some issues may come up. I've reached out and am waiting to hear back, and I'll update this review based on how that experience goes. Update (April 13th): I wanted to update my review--I'm really happy with how this was handled. I was able to come in the same day, and they fixed the interior lining perfectly. I forgot to add that day of they discovered I needed a new passenger side tension cable and they got it done on time ontop of the original service. They explained that the top I provided had excess fabric on the backing, which is what prevented the rear section from attaching properly. They also took a look at the middle section and let me know that if it comes loose again, they can secure it further with screws to prevent future issues. I really appreciate that they worked with the parts I brought and still made everything come together correctly. That kind of flexibility goes a long way. I also asked about getting some work done on my leather seats out of curiosity, and they gave me a solid quote along with options; either sourcing parts myself or going through them. Overall, I'll definitely be coming back in the future. Thank you again!

I was having a difficult time finding a pool place or tailor that was willing to restitch the many sections that came undone until I called Madina Upholstery, Drapery & Tailoring in Springfield, VA. Ashna told me to bring it in to see what he could do, so I did. Because of the pool cover's extremely large size, the stitching could not be done by a typical sewing machine, but Ashna was willing to stitch it by hand. He looked for, found and restitched each of the many locations that came undone by hand and called me a week later to say it was ready. I am extremely happy with the great work that was done and saved me the cost of buying a new cover for my custom shaped pool. If you need to repair your pool cover, I highly recommend Madina Upholstery.
