Today is August 1, 2023. Documented below, are several written exchanges with Leon Upholstery. I…read moredropped off seat covers along with the seats to Leon Upholstery late May 2023. Leon Upholstery committed to completing the work in one (1) day. I agreed to give him a week. After two (2) weeks, the seats were not done. I reached out to Leon Upholstery and he asked for more time. I agreed. On July 5, 2023, he called and explained the seat covers had miraculously ripped and he wanted additional money for making modifications to the seats despite inspecting the seats covers before I took him the seats to install the new seat covers. He explained the resulting rips from the seats were due to the manufacturers miscalculations on putting the seats together. The following day, I visited his shop and agreed to purchase additional fabric. Unfortunately, the seat covers manufacture took 17 days to provide me with the additional fabric needed to repair Mr. Leon's destruction of the original fabric he was provided. Once I provided the fabric, around July 20th, 2023, he stated that he would be done with the seats by July 27th, 2023. I called July 28th, 2023 to pick up the completed seats and he indicated that he was not done and would be finished on July 31, 2023. I called on July 31, 2023 around 3 o'clock PM without any response. On July 31, 2023, around 7 PM, I received a return call requesting additional time and excuses to complete the job. I was in the middle of a dinner engagement and wanted to end my conversation with Mr. Leon and told him Sunday, August 5th or 6th, 2023, I needed my seats back. After sleeping on the additional time requested I decided to call Mr. Leon around 11:00 am on August 1, 2023, to ask for partial refund of $200 of the $300 deposit that I had made. Mr. Leon said i was only entitled to $100. He said he put forth a lot of time and effort on the seats and he could only refund me $100. Please read the transcripts of my conversation with him on August 1, 2023. I recommend before entrusting any upholster with precious work and fabric that we all do our research on their background and business practices. I definitely would not recommend Leon's Upholstery to anyone for the following reasons: 1. Breached of agreed prices. 2. Timely delivery of completed work. 3. Mishandling of fabric. 4. Mishandling of customer's trust, time, and money. 5. Disregard for customers patience and understanding.

I have a 2004 Toyota Solara that I inherited, and the soft top clearly hadn't been replaced before. They communicated well throughout the process, and I'd recommend coming in ahead of time so they can assess exactly what you'll need. In my case, they let me know I needed a rain gutter along with the replacement. They were also willing to install the top I provided (with the understanding that it wouldn't come with a warranty), which I appreciated. On top of that, they stayed after hours so I could pick up my car, which meant a lot. I know how much that can impact someone's day. The reason for 4 stars is that part of the interior lining came loose a few days after the installation. I got it done April 10th. I was able to fix one section, but not the rear. I do understand that since the top was provided and had been sitting uninstalled, some issues may come up. I've reached out and am waiting to hear back, and I'll update this review based on how that experience goes. Update (April 13th): I wanted to update my review--I'm really happy with how this was handled. I was able to come in the same day, and they fixed the interior lining perfectly. I forgot to add that day of they discovered I needed a new passenger side tension cable and they got it done on time ontop of the original service. They explained that the top I provided had excess fabric on the backing, which is what prevented the rear section from attaching properly. They also took a look at the middle section and let me know that if it comes loose again, they can secure it further with screws to prevent future issues. I really appreciate that they worked with the parts I brought and still made everything come together correctly. That kind of flexibility goes a long way. I also asked about getting some work done on my leather seats out of curiosity, and they gave me a solid quote along with options; either sourcing parts myself or going through them. Overall, I'll definitely be coming back in the future. Thank you again!

I put together a long list of items, and Ivan worked very closely with me to ensure all work was done exactly the way I wanted. Everything was super clean, and I would highly recommend his work. You can tell he cares about the finish product and happy customers. The truck looks awesome and I love it. Great job, Ivan. I was even more surprised to find that (after never getting back to me in 2020, or since) he finally got around to looking at that all-important video footage from 2020 and it "showed a slightly different story" to what I'd originally said happened. Well, fair is fair. With them having just now posted on June 23rd 2025 to refute the incident, they obviously had the 2020 video footage fresh in their minds....right? So I called them right up and asked what exactly their footage showed. He had no idea. They obviously responded after 5 years to try to polish a well-earned 1 star review and make it seem like I was just a bad customer who just wanted to make trouble. See my original review for more context. Nice try Ivan. I'm telling you all again...trust this shady, lying, uh...gentleman at your own risk.
