Quality of work, prices and service are excellent! They pick up and deliver as well for a small fee. I usually supply my own fabric. Kathy does a great job. And hand sewed some pillows for me recently in addition to reupholstering a chaise and armchair. All of it took just a week. Highly recommend. read more

Thought I'd take a chance on this local mom & pop shop. So glad that I did. I needed slipcovers made for 6 King Hickory oversizied sofa cushions. I provided the fabric and the work was fabulous! Patterns were lined up as they should be across seams, piping and zippers -- all top-notch. The owner had originally quoted me 4-6 week at a price of $50/cushion. Much to my surprise, she called me in 2 weeks telling me that my work was complete. I asked her how they finished so quickly.....she said that when she found out that the sofa was actually in my family room (i.e. - get's lots of daily use) she put a priority on my job. I'm definitely going back to King's to recover an ottoman and re-upholster a Thomasville settee. On a sidenote - their in-house fabrics seemed a bit pricey.....but I would just buy my own fabric and bring it in. read more

This is the first time we have had dining room chairs recovered professionally, but based on Checkbook ratings,we consulted Kings. I am very happy and satisfied with the service (including their guidance) and the product! read more

I had a sofa and love seat recovered with a large patterned material. Kings did an exquisite job! They also repaired one of the supports on the sofa frame. I thought the price was very reasonable and I would not hesitate to use them again. read more

I called the store before bringing in a small family heirloom antique chair to have the seat reupholstered. I wish the woman had actually listened to me on the phone because she wasted my time and made it clear my small item wasn't worth her energy or business because it wasn't a large profit job. She insisted I go find my own cheap fabric at a discount fabric store because the small amount needed wasn't worth their effort. Blew me off for other customers who came in after me. Then, finally, told me to go order the fabric at Calico Corners and bring it all back for them to do. Calico Corners will be making far more as my heirloom chair is not too small to be worth their time and will not just recover the seat but redo the cushioning. King's Upholstery not only lost my business today, but all future business I will now take to Calico Corners. No customer should be treated as garbage simply because you can't get rich on the task. read more

I am so excited about my new couch! I had an antique queen anne sectional that was in terrible condition. I emailed them and they responded immediately with an estimate. They picked up the couch, did an amazing job even with my special requests and did the job for over $1000 less than the next highest competitor. My couch looks great but has also been restructured to provide better support. I couldn't be more pleased. read more

I had two slipper chairs reupholstered this month. The work was impeccable and their fees are exceptionally reasonable. I thought these chairs were not salvageable, but they look great. I am glad I took them to Kings. Well worth it. read more

I'm getting ready to have a third piece of furniture upholstered here. I think they have fabulous quality, workmanship, and pricing, especially with the free pick-up and delivery. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because in reading the bad reviews, just out of curiosity, I realized this shop might not be for everyone. If you are looking for high communication, touchy-feely good service, this might not be for you. The woman who runs the front of the store is very direct, even blunt. But is you want a really fine job of upholstery work, this IS the place for you. read more

I just had a wingback recliner redone at King Upholstery. They did a magnificent job! Very helpful in picking out the material as well as listening and recommending what needed to be done. King's has a small but very comprehensive selection of materials but they will use any material you bring in. The attention to detail was impressive from the finished cording along all the seams to the brass nails. They even refinished the wood legs on the chair. I will be bringing in more items. Their prices are very fair, especially for the quality of the work. And they will deliver the finished product in the local area. read more

Our 15 year old couch looks brand new thanks to the very professional work of Kings. Searched for a new couch but didn't care for the new designs. Contacted Kings and am happily amazed at the detail of their work and their reasonable prices. One arm of the couch needed to be reinforced -- a job I thought almost impossible, but one they completed. They re-stuffed the bolsters with feathers and made arm covers -- which we had not requested, but which we needed. This company has been described as a mom and pop operation -- maybe but their work is exceptionally good. read more

So unprofessional, the woman working there acted as if I was inconveniencing her with my mere presence... (second time I've been to this place and was treated this way... first I just thought she was busy... turns out she is just plain rude!!!) no worries this place will never get my business and I hope I spare anyone this experience. read more

Kings Upholstery did an excellent job on a 40-year-old tuxedo sofa. The sofa belonged to my mother and it had been in storage for many years. I had the sofa reupholstered and it is a work of art and looks beautiful in my living room. Kings Upholstery also reupholstered a barrel chair and it is a picture of perfection. I will use them again for additional items that need to be reupholstered. read more

I had two slipper chairs and two armchairs reupholstered (I provided my own fabric) at this shop. The work took just a few weeks to complete, and they provided complimentary pick up and delivery, which was a big help. I could not be happier with the results. The chairs look practically brand new. They also did a really nice job touching up the the wood on the armchairs, where my cat had scratched them. Most of my communication was with Kathy via email, and she was very prompt answering all my questions. The pricing was very competitive. I would not hesitate to use this establishment in the future. read more

I should have written this review a while ago, but better late than never. Kings Upholstery was recommended to me when I was having work priced at a national chain. Since I was familiar with where the shop was located I asked for a quote. Prices seemed reasonable - I've never heard that re-upholstering was inexpensive - so I went ahead and had two chairs covered with a contrasting welt. Later I had pillows made and then a footstool I thought I could recover myself, but apparently not. Timelines were met (or exceeded) and the work was excellent. read more

I walked in with a seat cushion I had hoped to have reupholstered. Once I walked in, a lady immediately spoke to me abruptly wanting to know what I wanted. I have never been to this store before, but the reviews appeared good enough. I noted I was hoping to either clean the old upholstery or replace depending on what services they offered. She began telling me I had to choose a fabric and I had to remove the old fabric myself using my own tools. She didn't offer me to even look at the selections she had much less a hello or some form of greeting. She then began to siphon off communication by pretending to not understand what I wanted. She then became noncommittal and non-communicative. I started to walk out and noted she clearly had no intent doing anything. She then began to hold onto my seat cushion which I ended up almost having to yank away from her. I repeated my intent that as she was showing no initiative or desire to anything I was happy to pay for, I was therefore leaving. I really didn't like how she kept clinging onto my seat cushion for several seconds as I was walking out the door. I mean OMG. :/. I strongly recommend not using this place. read more

I had a chair slip covered, and I think it came out fine. I would have expected decent work from anywhere I went (the job was not that big or tricky), so the reason I am giving 5 stars is really because of price and reliability. The cost was $480 cheaper than the other two places where I got quotes. They picked up the chair and brought it back for free, both times after work so I could be home and both times they showed up within 5 minutes of the time they gave me. It was a bit hard to move the chair through a narrow bit of hallway, but they did it without problem or complaint. I also had two pillow covers made, and the price for each was $20 less than the cheapest I was able to find on Etsy. They told me the job would take 2-3 weeks and it took 2 weeks, 4 days. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. read more

We had Kings Upholstery reupholster two modern-style, free-form Vladimir Kagan sofas using fabric we supplied (Kings recommended the number of yards). They picked up the two eight-foot sofas and returned them in just a couple of weeks. We couldn't be happier with the results. The detail work and seams are at least as good as the original manufacturer's. Kings' pricing was also very competitive. read more

I was skeptical about trying this place at first, but read reviews and decided to give it a go. I was truly pleased with the results! This shop is a gem: the prices are great and the work is amazing. I brought my own fabric after the owner gave me correct (!!) measurements (I called other shops and they were significantly off), they came and pick up the furniture for free and delivered it back in 1 month-all free as well. The furniture looks brand new. Great attention to details and immaculate craftsmanship. I would like to mention, though, that the reception might not meet your expectation if you are looking for a very warm and cheerful service. This place is more a matter of fact, but provide great results if you can pass beyond that. Highly recommend. read more

I have been redoing my home and was excited to get new fabrics for all my chairs. I have had Kings do wing back chairs, side chairs, benches, etc. The work has always been excellent and they are very fast. Once I took a fabric in that was a little unusual and they called to find out exactly how I wanted the fabric lined up on the chair - I went to the shop and we spent some time going through the options - and the chairs turned out beautifully. They also made arm covers where the patterns matched perfectly when they were on the arms - and this was a surprise to me. They fit perfectly and were exactly matched. read more
