The Shepherd Pie was really salty. Got it to go and didn't realize it until I got back to the hotel. While I waited at the bar the entertainer had a decent voice but it was so loud I couldn't hear the server. read more

Went here for a drink because we read the amazing reviews. Don't let the small bar fool you because we ended up staying here for the rest of the night! The ambiance was nice and the people you meet there are even better! The bartender was wonderful - not only were the martinis on point, she was patient and stayed a little longer because we were still lingering. 5 well deserved stars. read more

This restaurant in the Clarion Hotel by I-20 was a surprise. What a nice place and great food. The atmosphere is very nice and modern. The service was nice. Our food was very good! "J" got the Farmhouse French Dip which is basically brisket and aged provolone like Po boy you dip in some Au Jus on the side. Our guest Kim got the chicken salad sandwich which was huge. I got the Irish Bangers/Sausage with the garlic mashed potatoes and best of all= The Grilled Cabbage. I could eat a whole plate of that alone. All A+ and we will be back. They're always friendly, which is why I'll give them a 4. The food is pretty decent, like a solid 3.75 for bar food (but I would rate it lower if I was rating it as a restaurant). Love that they do live music on the weekends. read more

My wife and I visited here in Marshall for dinner a few days before Thanksgiving. First, we were a bit disappointed because the décor definitely seemed was more like what you would expect from a standard non-descript hotel than a pub. The food was good, however. The Irish Guinness Beef Stew was very rich and tasty and the Pork Chop was cooked perfectly, tender and juicy. The best thing about our experience was our server, Zara. She manned the entire front of house, which came up to 6 tables before we left, and she managed every table quickly and efficiently with a smile. She really sold this place to us. If I could give zero stars I would, actually I would give a star for the poor girl working the bar, the tables, the togo calls and running room service ALONE on a Saturday night. She was super sweet, but not equipped to handle it all ALONE!! Management is stupid or something! Now to the food. The Caesar salads were very good (hard to mess up) the $44 ribeye, yuck!!! It had no char whatsoever and looked like a big piece of roast on a plate. The Brussels sprouts tasted like fish (I don't know, you tell me!). Never ever again! To the owners: hire more front end people, you're in a HOTEL!! It isn't fair to your staff or customers to be short handed!! If you have more people working, you can serve more customers!! It isn't rocket science! (Location in Marshall). I was excited to see a vegan menu and items with jackfruit.... The chef doesn't know the recipes and have to read them through a book. My pasta came out with just noodles, jackfruit, and mushrooms. It "sauce," capers, and onions were forgotten. When I asked for a side of the sauce, they have me a new plate but the sauce still didn't exist. It's basically lemon-white wine-caper juice. I understand this place is new and not a lot people have vegan/vegetarian recipes, but at least train the chef to know how to cook, or take it off the menu. Wonderful service. Very small dining area with next to nothing as far as decor. This is basically a small area right off the hotels check in desk and breakfast area. No real separation between them. Only a handful of tables. The food was really good. I had the fried cheese curds and fried calamari as appetizers. A couple of us in our party of five had the fish and chips which were excellent. If you are looking for the same experience as the McGarity's restaurant located in Jefferson Texas you will be sorely disappointed. The food is pretty much the same but the ambiance is completely different. I would like to give a 5 star review buy I was really disappointed with the quality of the dining area. If I am going to pay the same prices as the other McGarity's location, then I expect the same or at least a similar ambiance/decor. read more

My husband and I ate here tonight. I was disappointed. The spinach artichoke dip was almost a solid clump of cheese. The artichoke parts couldn't even be cut with a fork they were so hard. Not tasty I just wanted a salad. With some chicken in it. So I asked if I could get iceberg lettuce instead of the romaine. I was told it was romaine or the wedge salad(which is just a large hunk of iceberg lettuce). So I ordered the wedge. And got a second plate to cut up my own lettuce. This salad was 13.95 and the chicken was 6.95. The chicken was cold and not good. Pretty sure he just took a precooked chicken breast out of the fridge and cut it in chunks. I did like the lettuce(after cut up). The bacon. And the homemade ranch. My husband and had shrimp and grits. It had some sauce poured over the top of the grits. But was mostly dry and clumpy. He ate what he could of if. We are not normally complainers. But damn. The waitress was super nice. None of this was her fault. read more

My 1st visit to McGarity's inside the Clarion Hotel in Marshall and we were not disappointed. We all ordered hamburgers and each one was a perfectly cooked thick meat burger and a side of 2 sides of sweet potato fries and one regular fry. All food was cooked perfectly. Service was good and not a large crowd there on Sunday. We will certainly be back to this clean restaurant with great service by our waitress. The Clarion Hotel is just less than a 1/4 mile North of I-20 on Hwy. 59 North. read more

My wife and I have been long time customers of McGarritys in Jefferson, so we were absolutely thrilled when we heard the news that they would be opening up a new location in Marshall just 1 mile from our house. Well, we finally got a chance to try it out this week and I cannot tell you how pleased we are. The menus seem to be exactly the same and the food we've had in both locations is SPOT ON. This type of consistency between two locations in many small/locally owned restaurants is unheard of. Hell, this type of consistency in ANY restaurant is unheard of. But they nailed it. Our server was such a joy and it happened to be her first day there. She did an outstanding job with our drinks as well. She was being shadowed by a familiar face who immediately recognized my wife and I as regulars in Jefferson. I believe Stormie (spelling) may have been her name. She's awesome too. Another thing I really loved was the dining room and decor. It is completely different than the Jefferson location but I have to tell you, I really dig the juxtaposition. If that was planned, it was brilliant. If it wasn't planned, it was still brilliant. Too often do people stick to familiarity because they hate to see change. This was a great idea to bring this amazing place to Marshall. We really needed it. 10/10 Staff, food, drinks, ambience, decor, cleanliness, and consistency. I'll just go ahead and have my paychecks direct deposited here since we'll probably be there every night. read more

Wow! I really can't say enough good things about our experience here. The hostess greeted us cordially and seated us at a nice 3-top along the wall. We perused their extensive drink menu and ordered a couple of very tasty beers. The three of us each ordered different dishes from the array of unique choices. While we sipped our drinks, we enjoyed the Irish pub ambiance and commented on the charming decor. When our food arrived, we all shared our dishes--crab cakes, Brussel sprouts, cheeses grits, seared tuna, Mac n cheese with lump crab meat. With each bite we were blown away by how delicious and complex the flavors were of every single item. Everything was cooked and presented to perfection. The service was great, and we particularly enjoyed the solo singer/guitar player (Amelia E.) who regaled us with a long set of songs we've all heard and can enjoy singing along to. She was super talented and was the perfect volume, enabling us to enjoy conversation at our table. To be honest, I didn't expect quite such on over-the-top delightful dining experience in a small town like Jefferson. I stand corrected! The town itself looks incredibly charming--we can't wait to explore more of it tomorrow. read more
