The original McFarland Wine and Spirits!! This little shop is tucked away in the little shopping center by the Chevron gas station and it's the absolute BEST. The owner, Anand (Andy), is so knowledgeable, kind, and helpful. His customer service is incredible, and he has the best selection of beers, wine and liquor. My husband is a bit of a beer snob, and very particular about his IPAs. Andy always has great recommendations for him. I highly recommend this place. Also, don't go to the imposter down the street! Another company moved in down the street, stole the name of Andy's shop, and is trying to take his business. They had the nerve to put a billboard outside Andy's shop! Re-posting here because owner operates business through google and hid my review. Made a stop at this liquor store because I was waiting on my pizza (ordered by phone at around 6:50PM) My friend had mentioned this location tends to have whiskies that other common liquor stores don't carry. This was my second time visiting. Owner or manager was attentive to me but for the wrong reason. This experience happened on 7/5/2024 @ around 7:00-7:05. I entered store. Manager asked if he could help. I said I was just looking. He asked what I was looking for. I said scotches and bourbons and that I was actually waiting on my pizza next door and was casually browsing. He asked if I was taking pictures because my phone was out. I told him I'm not taking photos but I am in fact comparing prices to see if it's a good deal. He asked where I was comparing prices with. I told him total wine. He said all prices are lower than total wine, then he left the store and came back and told me I needed to leave. I was confused and asked why. He said that he checked the pizza place next door and said that I didn't order a pizza. He said I was an Asian spy for another liquor store that was down the road. I asked if he was being serious. I then had to explain that I ordered the pizza by phone. And that if he needs proof we can go next door together. He said I was being suspicious because I was browsing with my phone out. And he said he isn't discriminating but I don't think he realizes that he actually was. So long story short, the other liquor store down the road and this store seems to have some sort of beef. The owner of the other store is Asian. I'm an Asian, so he is assuming I'm a spy for the other liquor store because I am Asian. The weirdest logic I've ever heard. Message to owner: Is this enough proof to you? That I'm not a "spy" from a neighboring liquor store? If you have an issue with that other store, take it out on them, not your Asian customers. 1. Having a phone out to compare prices should not be an issue. 2. I was specifically targeted because I was Asian. His words not mine. 3. Again, if you have an issue with your competition, go reach out to them and don't go on a crazy witch hunt hurting your customers. read more

It's been about 2-3 years since I went into this store, but I figured now is a good time for a review. I was new into bourbon and of course I was curious about the allocated bottles and his process of how to buy them from the store (knowing he probably held for regulars or whatever) and he proceeded to laugh in my face, even though I was buying something at the register as I was asking my questions. Never felt so disrespected by a "small business" owner. Luckily for me, a new shop opened down the road called McFarland400 and that owner treated me like family as soon as I walked through the door. Been shopping there these last two years instead of coming back here. Edit for your response: you explained the process after laughing in my face with a distributor standing right beside me. My focus with your store comes from when you treat other patrons rudely such as myself as you did a few years ago. And how you bash other stores as well. The meme on GLBs page sparked my motivation to write about my experience as that is rude to the customers who may not know allocations or how to get them. And in response to my second Instagram, didn't do that for you. Started as a review page and something I'm having fun with. And as far as selling your pick (open), guilty as charged. I grabbed a bottle from a friend, opened it. Drank it once, didn't like it, let it open up for a few weeks, still didn't like it, sold it for less than I paid for it just to recover the some money wasted. Wouldn't call that a "flip" if I lost money and my initial intention was to drink it. It has been the only bourbon bottle I have purchased from either store You won't hear from me again on this matter, I only write to help you realize the negative impact your "small" interactions with prospective customers does actually make an impact, especially as I do spend a decent chunk of change at other shops. read more

I love this place, not just because they have lower prices on 95% of their inventory than any other store in the immediate area, but also because they have the best selection of craft beer, wine and, liquor hands down. The owner, Andy, is one of the most friendly people ever and his extensive knowledge on the products in store is nothing short of remarkable. Out of the countless recommendations he has given me, I have never been disappointed, not even once. The store itself is clean and organized. Employees are friendly, courteous and helpful: even going so far as to help me carry a big purchase out to my car. I can't believe that people are still paying twice as much for high dollar bottles at other stores like total wine or McFarland 400, when Andy offers the same products for a fraction of the cost.
