We were at this location on November 2nd. We had an enjoyable time and purchased six bottles of wine. They were a little pricey, but.......the fee we were charged to taste those wines we tasted was outrageous! We were each charged $60.00 to taste them, which added $120.00 to our bill. I thought my husband was going to have a heart attack, I guess I can understand charging that if you don't buy anything, but the fact that we did purchase six bottles, I would think would have given us a discount on that tasting fee. Lesson learned I guess. We probably would not go back. read more

Their wine kits come from almost every wine district in the world, at least those I have heard of,and their classes, very cool space and very knowledgable prople make this a one stop shop. Wine Craft has been around for almost 29 years in the same location, and that counts for something. Plus they have survived when many homebrew supply stores have closed - natural selection at work apparently. Wine Craft focuses on winemaking supplies, and seem to have most if not all of the equipment and commodities needed to make some quality wine. I went there this week to purchase some tubing for my fermenter, and had a nice chat with the owner. Who was nursing a glass of beer next to the register - ah, the benefits of being a business owner! The equipment selection here is superior to the other supply shop I use, however as mentioned before they focus on wine and their selection of beermaking supplies is limited to kits - grain is not available and I think their hop selection is somewhat limited. I would rate them higher if I were a winemaker, but having no expertise in that area I can only review against my own experience.... read more

The older man behind the counter was very rude and not helpful at all, he acted as if I was already a master brewer, i just wanted some k knowledge on making a very happy beer but he offered no help, just told me to go do my own research. Since last year I have dreamed of making my own hard cider. Finally, now that it's apple season once again, it was time to just do it. Armed with nothing more than a gallon of fresh cider and a general idea of how home brewing works, I headed to Wine Craft. I told one of the owners my plan, and since he was helping another couple, he gave me a basic book that explained what I'd need to do. This recipe was even easier than everything I'd seen online - no heating of the juice, because apparently that makes the fruit flavor less pronounced. I already like this place. While he was helping the other people, we wandered around a bit, they have everything for making beer, wine, and cheese, along with some stuff that's more for gift giving. There's everything from kits to all the individual elements you'll need. I was told the best thing to do was go with a kit, and they even have one specifically for only making a gallon at a time - and my new favorite book came with it. The owner was like "this is probably more than you thought you'd spend..." but no way. At under $42, it was less than I expected, plus it gets all the basic supplies out of the way. Since it came with a dry wine yeast, they gave me the champagne yeast called for in the recipe along with that one, so I can try out something else when the cider is sitting in bottles. These people know their stuff, and I really appreciated that they even have kits. My cider is in the midst of a 3 week period of sitting in a carboy, and yet still months away from drinking. And since I'm going to need some bottle caps and a capper, I will definitely buy them from Wine Craft rather than from somewhere on the internet. read more

This is a great little home brew shop. I'm an average extract home brewer and have been going to Wine Craft for the past 5 years. Peggy and her husband are really knowledgeable and friendly every time I'm in there. I'm not sure if they sell enough grain to do all grain recipes but they certainly have enough for seeping in my extract recipes. They have tons of supplies and in addition to home-brewing, they also sell wine making and cheese making supplies. read more

Although it doesn't highlight "BEER" in their title, the selection of beer making equipment/ingredients/kits, make up for half of the shop. The man that runs the place was great about guiding us through the setup of home brewing as well as troubleshooting and recipe making. Overall, a great place for beer makers to shop. read more

For north of Atlanta, this is the only place you need for making your own beer. They have a lot around wine as well, but I was more focused around the beer-making area of the store. At first glance, I thought it was a bit small, but they carry everything that you need and more. The owners are very friendly, even if it does seem that they argue with each other quite a bit (which was surprising but kind of funny). There was nothing that I needed that they didn't carry, and I've done about 10-12 5-gallon batches so far including some tricked up recipes. Nice, relaxed place. Plus the wife and kids can hit Tuesday Morning next door while I go here. Strong recommend. read more

Super helpful and friendly staff. In regards to the comment below about not having grains, and only a limited selection of hops, things have changed I guess. They have a small selection of base malt grains and quite a few adjunct grains. I think they can special order stuff they don't have in stock. They'll also mill grains you guy there free and I think they charge like $0.50/lb of grain not purchased there. It's great having a supply shop like this close by. If you're interested in brewing beer or winemaking... or cheesemaking, definitely check them out! read more

I stopped into the store today to pick up supplies for my first homebrew attempt. The owner was extremely helpful. Of course being a bit of a novice I wasn't exactly sure what I was looking for and he offered lots of suggestions and helped guide me through the process. Wowza, this place is coolio. I walked in here not knowing what wine craft was, is, whatevs. I thought, wrongly, that it was a store that made crafts out of wine bottles, crates, casks, etc. Yeah, I know, I am a little clueless. When I walked in all clueless, dude asked if he could help me. "Fo' Sho'" I said in a much more cultured way. Because I am so totally cultured. I then asked what the hell the purpose of this store was, like where could I pick up a sweet pot rack made out of a wine cask (you laugh, but I really do have one hanging in my kitchen- thanks etsy). Um, this is a home brewing and wine making store, dude said. Ohhhhhh- that makes sense. He then gave me the spiel on home brewing and then wine making. I peppered in some questions so I wouldn't feel like a complete dumb ass and then I gazed out at the equipment before me. Pretty cussing cool. I am now energized at the thought of brewing my own wine; botulism here I come. I think I might make a batch of wines for Hanukkah presents next year. Who could top that???? I've been going there for 20 years through three different owners. Joe elevated the business to an elite level when he moved to the new location. Great beer and wine supplies, hops, yeasts, grains, kits, equipment, etc. Plus great advice and help if needed. If you are brewing large quantities, this is really the only game in town. I place bulk orders all the time and they always arrive in a few days, saving me huge dollars. There is no reason to go any place else for anything, they can get it all. read more
