So this is four stars for a McDonald's, compared to other McDonald's in the area. I've always found it to be clean and condiments well stocked, there's never a big wait for food, and the drive through is open 24/7. I'm not quite sure why on that one, but it has definitely come in handy for a late night drive back from the airport!

My returnee cheeseburger handed back to me, when I lifted the bun. Complete with my original bites.

Only because 0 wasn't an option. I ordered a cheeseburger with no pickles tonight... I bit into a huge bite full pickles. Okay. I hate that but it happens. Here's the problem: I went back through the drive through and VERY nicely asked if I could get a new cheeseburger. The guy behind the counter was very nice - of course, no problem, etc. When I open the new burger ... it's my last cheeseburger back with the cheese pulled off and pickles removed. Gross. Seriously?!?! And of course no receipt in the bag so I don't know who to report. But it was within the last 10 minutes today.

EXPERIENCE; What did come as a surprise to me was the popularity of this rural tavern on a fall Friday evening and the quality of food and service experienced. Jason P. had reported excellent fish and chips, noteworthy wings, and selection of local beers at the tavern in his review. I ordered the fish and chips alongside the server's suggested Norbrook Farm-brewed Mount Pisgah IPA. The fish and chips dish ($20) was as Jason had described -- "TOP TIER". I look forward to exploring the menu further (although it will be hard to pull me away from the fish and chips). Kudos to the tavern's Head Chef Austin Ouelette and his crew! AMBIANCE: There are three dining areas -- an outdoor patio, a newly renovated, modern dining room, and the original dining room filled with colonial-inspired furniture. TIP: Parking lot size was insufficient the Friday evening I visited, necessitating parking on the shoulder of State Route 20 . This possibility may be circumvented via a visit on an earlier weekday. The tavern is open to visitors and inn guests Wednesday through Sunday.

Their menu has a lot of different options to please everyone in your party. They've got the typical go-to's (burgers, sandwiches, pizza) but then you get into some house made comforts like chicken pot pie and bacon wrapped meatloaf. The service is great, but since it's a pretty small place the waitresses might be pretty busy so just be patient. With that said, seating is fairly limited on a busy Friday/Saturday night or if they are having a special for dinner, so definitely make reservations! We came for late lunch on Saturday and it was fairly quiet. Needless to say, since it's off the beaten path we sometimes forget this gem is here but when we remember we never regret it!

The exterior of this restaurant belies the wonderfully designed and decorated venue found within. Brothers Sonny and Harry have been operating this restaurant for more than 25 years, and are obviously dedicated to it's continued success. We sat at the bar - a beautiful formal presentation with a comfortable library-like feel. Our server/bartender Tracy was attentive and informative. The menu is filled with classic Italian dishes, and the descriptions tease the palate that is looking for quality. Our meal began with homemade bread and a homemade salsa for dipping that was unique and fantastic! I had the Chicken Saltimbocca with a rich, brown gravy, that was presented beautifully and served hot. The wife had Chicken Artichoke special, also presented beautifully and also very flavorful. The highlight of our experience was when we split the Limoncello Marscapone Cake, very unique and incredibly good. I will return just for this dessert. The food was fantastic, vthe service was great, and the atmosphere is beautiful! Don't let the exterior of the building affect your decision to eat here - you won't be disappointed! If comfort had an address, it would be Mario's. We always kick things off with a small pizza for the table, because that's the law here. The bread and tomato relish? Should be sold by the gallon. I would pay an irresponsible amount of money for it. If you know, you know. Last night's table lineup was elite: * One of us ordered the veal Neapolitan -- fresh, tender veal in a vodka sauce so good it should have its own fan club. * Another went for the penne alla vodka with shrimp and scallop, which was hands‑down the best dish of the night. The seafood takes an already top‑tier vodka sauce and somehow makes it even better. As a Jersey boy, I don't say that lightly. * I decided to go rogue and step outside my usual penne vodka or steak. I wanted veal parm. I've never had anything fried here besides the calamari (which is amazing), so I figured: why not? Here's the plot twist: The veal parm was the only dish I've ever had at Mario's that didn't hit the usual Mario's standard. The veal itself was totally different from the fresh, delicious cut in the Neapolitan, and the breading had a little... funk. Almost like it had been prepped ahead and picked up a freezer‑burn vibe. Not bad -- just not Mario's‑level magical. But here's the thing: One imperfect dish doesn't change the fact that Mario's is one of our all‑time favorite restaurants. The atmosphere, the people, the consistency, the warmth -- it's all unbeatable. We love this place and will absolutely be back, probably embarrassingly soon. Mario's is home. Even when one dish misses, the experience never does.
