There is such a thing as an above par McDonalds, although in my opinion rare. No issues ordering and staff was friendly. My quarter ponder combo with fries was hot and tasty. The self serve drink area was the only area that needed some amount of tidying up, but not bad. The dining room was overall tidy. No question 3.5 and rounding up. Nice to see this because I actually like their food. However I cannot deal with how inconsistent the chain is and stay away. read more

We decided to try the delivery to table app. But it did not go like we thought it would 20 minutes later and food not warm, ice cream melted. My grand daughter got a chicken nugget happy meal. My wife went with the fish meal. While I chose the quarter with cheese no bun. We did mobile app so couldn't ask for Military discount. They had forgotten a couple things on our order and not being able to communicate was a problem. read more

Face it....McDonalds is iconic. I'm never gonna stop going there because you can't beat their french fries and their Coke I mean it's the best you can get. I'll tell you what they bank on that. The customer service sucks. You have to wait in the drive-through line forever. If gas wasn't so high, I would go to the other end of town and go to that McDonald's, but no, I'm stuck dealing with it. And to add insult to injury because I was waiting forever in line while I started this review, I get to the window and my food order is wrong. So according to my Life 360, 10:06 to 10:39 was wasted at McDonalds. Horrible management. I do love your fries though. That's where the 2 stars come in. read more

First we were ignored for several minutes because we wanted someone to take our order vs using the kiosk. 2nd had to actually flag someone to take our order and had to do that twice. I 3rd Ordered coffee with my breakfast and ask for cream on the side. They poured cream in and put cream on the side. Was filled to the brim and spilled when I took off the lid. 3rd strike, Also was freezing cold inside with cold air blowing on us the entire time we ate. Was a 29 degree cold day and they had cold air blowing in the dining room. Everyone inside eating was bundled up in coats. Ask them and was told the kitchen was hot. Couldn't understand why the music playing was in another language, couldn't understand a word.. On a happy note, the bathrooms were very clean. Unfortunately I will pass this location up for another location next time. read more

Employees always are in a bad mood and never hurry up with food! Always missing something in my order because you have 15yrs screaming and playing around in the back. You shouldn't hire immature people if they can't actually take your order correctly. This has happened more than once when you correct them they usually get in that bad mood. read more

This is by far one of the worst McDonalds. They do not care about the quality of food they serve. It's really sad that it continues to go downhill . This McDonalds is the first in Shelbyville I believe. It used to be the best. They need to get people in there that care and know how to fix the food. read more

McDonald's - This is how many fries in a happy meal - Fast Food Near Me - Shelbyville, Kentucky

Worst operated McDonald's I've ever been to. I should know since I live near this one (and I've been to McD's all over the US). This one gets the prize for the worst. I've given it more chances than it deserves. It never fails to disappoint. Even the other McD's with the same owner are run better. Why does the owner tolerate this? Workers constantly goofing off, or running behind the counter to get more "free food" during their break after they've eaten their free meal already, or getting in the way when they aren't even on the clock. It all depends on who the manager on duty is but why take a chance? Just stay away! read more

The manager taking orders refused to let me order an ice water in the drive through. I wanted to pay for it- he wouldn't let me. I have a 4, 2, and 1 year old little boys, it's raining, I needed to pay for an ice water in a drive through. Terrible service. He said I had to come inside and buy a drink to fix my own ice water. read more

The food was crap we sat in drive thru line 2 waiting for someone to take our order but go nothing my wife had to call the store and ask why no one would take our order and the man on the phone got rude with my wife the Christian in me said let it go so after 20 minutes of waiting they finally took our order to witch we then had to sit and wait in the #2 waiting spot i took like a 20 minute nap there waiting for my food I will never go there again read more

Took almost 20 minutes to get an incomplete order placed in-store at the kiosk. Manager radiated irritation and indifference.

no problems with service a little slow, but there was hair in my caramel frappe so that is a concern

Tony and I are trying to cut back on our spending...so for lunch on our adventure, McDonald's $1 menu was the big winner. $2.19 for 2 McChicken Sandwiches. Not a bad sandwich for the price really. It has mayo and lettuce on it. We had our own drinks already..bottled water!!! The restaurant is a typical Mickey D's nothing negative or actually outstanding about it. read more

Ordered nuggets (fresh), FF, & sweet tea (light ice) Nuggets came out nice and hot and crispy FF we're hot and filled to the top Tea was sweet and not overfilled with ice. It's rare that a McDonald's gets all three right! They nailed it! From order to food took less than 5min at 12:15 (lunch rush). read more

I don't know what it is about this McDonald's, but they desperately need help with their time management. We have to "pull up" and wait for our food every single time we go there. It's almost always for fries. You're McDonald's! How do you run out of fries?! Other than that... it's a run of the mill Mccy D's. read more

This is my favorite McDonald's around! I always get my food super fast, the service is always friendly. The times that they have got it wrong they're always willing to make it right. I am still making it to work on time even after following a slow poke all the way to town, thanks to this awesome team! read more

This McDonalds is one of the worst I've been to and continues to show it with their rude and unprofessional staff. We went here today only because we were right across the street. They only gave us half our order even though we had our receipt showing what we ordered and they argued and told us our receipt was wrong. They told us we would have to pay for whatever else we wanted even though our receipt showed we had already paid for the items. Them employee that we dealt with yelled and argued with us the entire time. and refused to give us her name or allow us to speak to someone else. read more

So fresh! Literally the best tasting McDonald's I've had in a while! I use the curbside pickup which at times is slower, but if the food is fresh like it was today then it's well worth the wait. read more

How do you rate a McDonald's. The food is all the same but some places have better service than others. This location always provides prompt service no matter how many customers arrive at once. The drive-thru often looks congested but it actually moves quite efficiently. (They also tend to be a little more generous with the tarter sauce on the filet of fish which I appreciate. If you don't like tarter sauce tell them to hold it or go light.) read more

service was nice but the wait was so long and people that came in after me got there food before i did

It's a McDonalds... they make food. It comes out hot. They have a 2 lane drive thru which I'd never experienced before, and it confused me. I wondered how THEY don't get confused, and yet, they didn't get my order wrong. My Husband has run in to this location a couple of times for carry out, and despite both the parking lot, and the drive thru being PACKED, he always comes out surprisingly quick. read more

It's McDonald's... C'mon - we all know what it tastes like and this one's no different. We all know this location's drive-thru is almost as inefficiently run as the Stalinist regime. What I find particularly disingenuous is the farce portrayed as "ordering". You will receive what they decide to put into your sack. I have not received a complete, correct order in 3 visits during the last 6 weeks. Today, I specifically asked if one of my "ordered" items was in the sack I was handed. I was emphatically, and somewhat incredulously, assured the order was exactly as placed. Who is going to be surprised that when I got home, I discovered the clerk was either ignorant about what had placed in my sack, or perhaps too lazy to place all of the items in the bag, or was just being intentionally deceptive? This is a 20 year long management problem at this particular McD's. Well, no more for me. I'm done. Ya'll won't ever have to worry about me adding to the crowded, glacially slow drive thru here. There are simply too many other establishments that value and respect their patrons! read more

Long lines. Mediocre food. Mediocre service. Filthy building. It's ok if you need food, and the fries are amazing. But they always forget something. And I've been through a couple times, and no surprise, ice cream machine was broken. Don't recommend. read more

I mean... it's Mcdonalds. However, it always takes at least 15 minutes to get through the drive thru. 80% of the time the order is wrong. However the food hasn't been super cold or super over cooked. read more

Real shame there is not a "zero" rating. McDonalds is a prime example of the nose dive that fast food restaurants have taken. I used to frequent the Shelbyville store but no more. When, after three consecutive visits you can't get the cup of coffee you ordered, it's time to try a new vendor. Drive through is a nightmare and you usually can't understand the person manning the station. I'm afraid I'm not fluent in Spanish, so it's real difficult trying to figure out what's being said. I've given up. It's Thornton coffee from here on out. Really sad. read more

I grab drive thru here more often than I'd like to admit, and the service is always wonderful! The food is as good as McDonalds gets, but it's the people who work here that sway me to eat at this one rather than the one on the other side of town. One time they forgot to put apple slices in my son's happy meal and the manager gave me a free happy meal the next time I was in to make up for it! read more

If only I could give this mcdonalds 0 stars.... By far, the WORST mcdonalds ever. I'm not sure what kind of management they have going on but you are never in line for less than 10 or 15 minutes.
