This place is always ridiculous. I'm pretty sure the only reason they're still in business is the location. Tonight was especially bad. It took over 40 minutes in the drive through for 6 cars. No big orders. There was no politeness from the workers. Not even a "sorry you're waiting 5 times longer than you're supposed to. It was actually quite the opposite with the person at the window acting like she was inconvenienced by me showing up to a place that sells food, to order food. There was at least 10 People on staff. 3 working and the rest doing whatever they wanted apparently. The red red hair girl (who appeared to be some type of manager) was eating food off the counter while she was putting customers food in the bags. I put the last thing I wanna do is wait another 45 minutes for my food or even worse asked for them to remake my food and who freaking knows what would happen if this place. It would probably take much less time to drive to the McDonald's that is 3 miles away from my house instead of the one that is three blocks away because this place is a freaking joke. They did get the ketchup only for the kids right. So they have that going for them. Every time I hear the word McDonald's, see the Golden Arches, or spy a billboard out of the corner of my eye, I have to stop and say "mmmm... McDonald's" (drool). No, I don't eat it all the time... Probably the worst McDonald's and location there is. Anytime I've decided to go there, I instantly regret it. Takes too long and whenever you go in, the workers don't even acknowledge like you're not a paying customer. There was an incident here that really upset me and how the establishment handled the issue. My sister who lives across from the location went in one day, and was waiting in line when a Caucasian woman whose frequented the place, cut in front of her. My sister replied politely and the woman wouldn't pay her no mind. My sister got frustrated and the woman told my sister, I quote, "Go back to your country where you came from" and my sister told her that she is Native American. Long story short, the woman called on the manager or supervisor who witnessed the incident, and the lady told him, "you know me and I spend money in here all the time" and the manager or supervisor sided with the Caucasian woman for political reason obviously. This really upset me and my family, being Native American in this city, we're often overlooked in different establishments and mistaken for Hispanics. It's baffles me that native people go through this kind of disrespect in a city that dedicates it's heritage to our culture. If McDonald's or this specific location condones racism in any form, Then I don't want anything to do with the business, I'll gladly take my money elsewhere. read more

High prices for less food. Friendly enough staff but orders are often filled wrong. If I didn't live so close to this one I wouldn't come back. I have on occasion gone out of my way to go to a different McDonald's just to get better food. Let me just start by saying that I have been living near this McDonald's for the last few years. As other reviews have also stated, they have never filled their French fry containers full. Recently they have also started to use paper fry containers instead of the old cardboard ones. I assume this is to save costs with the minimum wage increasing but they are much smaller (large is now somewhere around what was previously a medium, but with increased cost). Service is ok. Staff are friendly enough. Orders are often filled hastily so it sometimes results in incorrectly filled orders. Food is ok but the fries and nuggets are sometimes old. The dining room is as clean as expected. The reason for the two star review is the continuously increasing prices for less food compared to other McDonald's. I get it if it's a business decision for the whole region, but you can easily go to a different McDonald's and get better value and food. (And isn't that the whole reason anyone goes to McDonald's?) read more

I am writing to file a complaint about McDonald's Restaurant Store Number 1697. Due to Covid, I have health issues, and rarely leave the house. On August 1st, we decided to brave the road, wore our mask through the drive thru and ordered our food. When we got home, we realized that there were items missing. I called to ask for a refund, credited back to my credit card, and was informed that refunds can only be made in person. They wanted me to go back to the restaurant to show them my receipt and credit card, in order to get my money back. Due to the risk of going back out, I declined this option. When I expressed my concerns for going back out, I was informed that this is a company policy, therefore, I asking for you to have this policy investigated. During a global pandemic, how is a refund policy for "in-person" transactions ethical? I find this practice unsafe and not practical. I believe this refund practice dangerous, inconvenient, and unethical. Implement safe practices for refunds, do not ask for us to risk more only for a refund, horrible business practice. I have yet to receive my refund. read more

Has to be one of the nicest McDonald's in Seattle. After you order they give you a number and bring your food to your table when it's ready. Plus they have free wifi. You can tell the manager puts some effort into making this an above average McDonald's. Midnight April 10 2011 My letter to the manager - Dear Jesse, I was shocked at the way your staff treated me tonight. We ordered a #6 and a spicy chicken mini meal(from the drive-in) only to find the larger fries were a little old and hard. I walked back into the restaurant to have them replaced where Zachary gladly prepared some new fries by putting them into the oil. After a long hard day at work, I was looking forward to Mcdonalds fries - they are the best ones out there. I waited a minute or two and went back to my car after being handed the fresh fries. To my surprise they were over-done, this time hard from over-heating. I thought to myself that it was not really worth it to go back into restaurant to have them made again, but then why not? I did pay for them after all. This time Zachary threw a fit and complained to Alfonso who grabbed my bag of fries, flung them into the trash and proceeded on being extremely disrespectful to me starting off by telling me how he burnt his fingers making the last batch and how this is the way they come out. He did not even bother looking at them and understanding what I was telling him. I have been happy for the last 15 years with the fries I have been getting from Mcdonalds and all of a sudden this young man claims that this is the way they are meant to be???!!! Thank you, but I shall be the judge of that. He rudely told me I was getting a refund and I can be on my way, at which point he started banging the cashier drawer trying to make change as fast as possible and as noisily as possible. I tried explaining to him that he was being rude and this was not exactly what you call customer service to which he responded that he has done the course and knows exactly what customer service is. Imagine, I was standing there, in my suit and overcoat, being disrespected because I do not know what fries should taste like. I repeatedly asked him to at least touch the fries and see what I mean instead of throwing them away and proceeding to refund me - which is not what I wanted at all. I asked for a manager and was told that he was the manager. Why then do you not have a name-tag on? He tried handing me the change and when I shook my head in disbelief, he slammed the change down onto the counter. At this point there was a lady who jumped in and told me that I was not welcome here and that I should leave. "get out. I won't stand for you insulting him" I do not understand how I insulted Alfonso by telling him the fries he made were over-done? When I again tried explaining that this is not the right way of dealing with such a situation I was told that she would be calling the cops. I told them the only person they should be calling is their manager and walked out. I have never in my life been so insulted by ANYONE, let alone employees of a restaurant that has been a part of my life for decades. The only thing I can say is that this episode has left a very very bad taste in my mouth and such behavior should not be tolerated. I have been belittled and humiliated and the worst part of it is, none of them even bothered looking at the fries. Why would an employee give me attitude in the first place? I am not an uneducated fool showing up talking about things I know nothing about? I do know what I am talking about and I do know exactly what the definition of manners, kindness, customer service and professionalism are. Please see to it that your employees learn these definitions. It falls on your shoulders to make sure that this does not happen to anyone else. I am not well-spoken and kind to your only employees to be mistreated by them. And they were not mistaken about who I was - I was the best dressed, most well-spoken gentleman in there at the time. Horrible customer service. Went through drive through, ordered, and noticed they forgot some items and when we said there were some items missing, they simply read off the price again and told us to reorder at the window, rather than correct the order while still at the speaker. We did not feel listened to. When we received our items, we checked and they forgot multiple items. We were still at the window and asked for the missing items, to which the employees became visibly annoyed and demanded to see our receipt. They brought some items and then claimed we did not pay for others, even though our group explicitly ordered more than one fries and sauce and even tried to check at the last window. They then responded by saying "you have to pay for that", as if we are trying to steal, with which we agreed to of course. They then were very annoyed and handed the items to us after leaving for longer than it would normally take to receive one medium fry, then did not say goodbye or thank you. I don't write yelp reviews often but I felt compelled too after tonight's experience. It was about 1:30am and the drive-thru had a line out the street. When it was finally my turn to order, there was just silence and no greeting. I said "hello" and I was told to wait a minute. 3-5 minutes went by and I finally spoke up and I believe the manger named Alex (could be wrong) spoke and asked if I've been helped yet. Keep in mind, by this time there had to be 8-10 cars waiting behind me and no cars in front of me at the drive thru windows. What a dumb question! I almost wanted to say "No doofus, I'm just sitting here at the intercom." I ordered a Bacon McDouble without bacon because it's only $2 compared to ordering a McDouble that is more expensive. Then he proceeded to tell me that he was going to charge me for a 'McDouble' and I said no then leave the bacon on which I eventually just threw away. The heck is he thinking trying to charge me more just because I don't want bacon. I'm just being smart about saving money on my meal, there's no written rule that I can't do that. This guy has served me multiple times and he's usually alright but he had a bit of an attitude tonight. Maybe he was having a bad day or maybe he just had something stuck up his you know what. I finally paid and got my food and I checked the temperature of my fries and they were unsurprisingly cold. I let the cashier know and she said the fries were fresh and just came out. I told her to touch them so I could prove my point but she declined. She eventually gave me a hotter batch and I tried to give her the old fries back and she said "I don't want them." The heck! I don't want those nasty fries either. Lazy employee wouldn't even take the cold fries back to throw them away. I've visited this Mcdonald's location more times than I count at all different times of the day. Despite how inconsistent this location is along with the poor to mediocre customer service, this location will remain busy almost all day since it's near UW and it's open 24 hours day. I'll add on from experience this place tends to have technical problems late night and they have very slow service when it's busy. It's frequently poorly ran and they have a difficult time keeping up when it's busy resulting in slow production times. There have been times where they provide fast service but more times than not, it's slow. I was going to give 2 stars but thinking about my recent experience triggers me to just give one star. But I will say there have been times where service was okay and the food was fresh but overall INCONSISTENT. Come here enough and every once in a while, you'll get a friendly employee and fresh fries. read more

I went to get a coffee and fries. The lady told me to pull up to the last window to pay because it was late at night. The man at the window said angrily "The FIRST window is behind you!" Shocked I said, "She told me to pull up to the last window." He scoffed and said "No she DIDN'T." When he came back from running my card I asked him how much the order was because he never told me and he shoved the card at me and before I could finish my question he slammed the drive thru window in my face. Super Size this! McDonalds is back. This long time local eatery is "sandwiched" between the trendy University Village to the south and the upscale residential neighborhood of Ravenna to the north. The seating is ample and perfectly comfortable for a short lunch or dinner. The staff is friendly, personable and efficient. They are quick to make recommendations if the hungry visitor isn't sure what to order and their recommendations are usually spot-on. I had a Crispy McChicken sandwich that was perfectly matched to the piping hot cherry pie I had for dessert. Worst McDonalds ever for many reasons. First, they are the most expensive McDonalds! I mean a "dollar menu" McChicken in $1.89? Next, almost every time I go through drive thru, they mess up my order or give me someone else's. Lastly, if you ask for ketchup and you say a few or handle full they will specifically ask if for example, like 5 and you say ok, they really count out 5 packets! What a waste of time.
