The Sausage McMuffins here are actually pretty good, I go here quite often when I pull an all-nighter and need to get some breakfast at 5-6am in the morning. Usually my experiences with this McDonalds is pretty good but the most recent time that I went, they had a "back soon" sign on most of their items which is pretty upsetting. I don't really know how long the signs have been there or if it was just a today kind of thing but having a limited menu doesn't really help. read more

For a McDonald's it's pretty average. The food is what you would expect. I give it two stars because of the issues they generally have with the drive thru. For one, I have had multiple issues of them forgetting items. Two, they will randomly have issues with their system so they will be cash only for a period of time. I really wish they would fix these issues so that they could be a normally operating Mcdonalds. Although, they get bonus points for being open 24 hours(they start breakfast only at 4am). I do not know the state of their ice cream machine. read more

Day staff are quick, friendly and I can expect great service each time I come. Night shift is hit-or-miss, it depends on who's managing at the time. Unfortunately disgruntled staff trying to survive the evening rush have provided enough poor experiences when picking up food that it overshadows any positive interaction the day shift could provide. So just to preface I'm not from Seattle, I moved here about 2/3 years ago from Texas and I had a real problem at first with food up here. I love McDonald's it's fairly affordable and super easy. This is the only one I like to go to. I live just around the corner and I normally come for lunch/dinner and it's normally pretty fast and the food is always hot and they never get my big mac wrong. Tried to go here last night on my way home from the airport. It was approximately 10:45pm. The drive thru lane had no less than 7 cars in it backing up into the street. I was hungry though & just wanted a little comfort food in the form of a cheeseburger & fries. After waiting 5 full minutes and not moving in line I called into the restaurant to ask if they had outside cameras and knew that there was a line of 7 cars. If you have cash, don't bother or waste your time because you will be actively ignored. I was REALLY wanting to treat myself tonight, but my phone was dead (I usually use the app.) I thought "that's ok I have cash, I can use the kiosk", right? Well, that answer is a residing no. I placed my order, all excited, it said go to the counter to pay so I did.... and I was actively ignored for over 15 min while employees gossiped amongst themselves... all I was doing was trying to pay. I EVEN eventually set my receipt on the counter where everyone else was picking up, trying to communicate: HI, I'M JUST TRYING TO PAY! It was looked at and still ignored, so I walked out. Apparently McDonalds discriminates against those in the world who can only pay in cash. In example: *the homeless or those less fortunate than me.* It's ok, I didn't need the calories and this really changes my mind about earning "points" on the app...... I've always been annoyed with this location for always being backed up in the driveway, but this time I think I'm finally done with this place for good lol. Ordered from DoorDash. We could see from the map on DD that our driver got stuck at the McDonald's for 20 minutes. The driver took a while to even get to the McDonald's, so it wasn't like he zoomed over there giving them no time to make the food, the location was probably just backed up like always. Now for the fun part: they forgot to give us our McFlurry and our condiments that we ordered. Also ordered a large fries, and there was only a small handful (from reading other reviews, seems like this is the norm). At least all of the nuggets were there. I probably would have cried if we didn't at least get some nuggets. It just sucked, because what was I supposed to do? The worst McDonald's I've ever been to. I walked 20 mins to (and 20mins back) to the McDonald's just to have them say they can only do drive through. The reason? Because they close in person orders at 7pm. I asked them if I could just make the order and for them to hand me the food. Nope. I walked to and from there again the next day, and their machine broke. Went to McDonald's tonight with my friends for a few things and received terrible customer service. I was just ordering through the speaker and could hear the annoyance from the girl through that. She continues to be annoyed as a finish my order considering I'm still being polite with her attitude. I go up and she gets my order wrong. After I say something is wrong she continues to say I didn't pay for it. In the end I have to pay for some fries because she never added what I had initially asked for. To actually become a fan of McDonald's is not something that I have imagined. Fast food is getting more expensive nowadays. Other than the Dollar Menu, burgers are not that cheap. The chicken nuggets are delicious. Big mac is pretty good too. Again, the portion is not big. The calories are high. They spent some time remodling this location last year. The old one had slightly awkward layout and doorway design. This new one appears more spacious even though it is the same restaurant. Seats and tables are always clean. They have a TV that plays news station channels. This review is important. I am the grandson of the founder of the McDonald's restaurant chain.. yes, Ronald was my grandfather. These days I am in charge of quality control involving ordering at the drive thru like I'm any normal person. At this location they served me a Big Mac on a stale bottom bun, big no no! It's the sandwich that made my grand daddy famous and rich. Also they seem to be placing regular sized French fries in the kids happy meals, instead of having a separate bin of fries that are much smaller for the kiddos. I stopped by this location for a coffee on a regular basis because it is closer than a Starbucks. They continually feel the coffees so much lower then they should because they are in a hurry and don't want to get all the coffee out of the blender. They keep shorting me on coffees when I buy several a week. I am tired of complaining. I will just go to Starbucks for my coffees from now on because Starbucks fills my coffees all the way. I don't know why there's such a shortage of fast food restaurants on the Ave. Sure there's that Jack in the Box, but I'd rather not talk any more about that place than I have to. This McDonald's is probably the closest one to the UW campus, but it's still so far away that I don't really see many college-age students hanging around here, not even people in fraternities or sororities. It's still an okay place overall, but I don't think the Ave is missing out on much by not having it there because there's a lot of good and cheap food more conveniently located for people on campus. There is one particularly good thing about this place, and that is it's clean. The floors were being mopped as I walked in, and the rest of the restaurant is similarly clean. The other noteworthy detail is that right after I placed my order, the food was ready on the counter! I didn't have to wait at all; the service was basically instant like Dick's. I didn't even get the chance to fill up my drink when it was already there for me to pick up. But they were nice enough to hold it for me while I quickly went to the bathroom. Even the bathroom was quite clean for a McDonald's bathroom. It was a pleasant surprise. The food here is pretty standard for McDonald's. I'm sad that they no longer have the 20-piece chicken nuggets for five dollars, because that was a great deal while it lasted. Now it's $4.69 for ten pieces, which doesn't sound nearly as good. Everything else is the same. A Big Mac is a Big Mac and fries are fries. The fries are a little oversalted and have some tiny burned bits here and there, but it's nothing too severe. I'm not going to be too harsh on the rating because the restaurant is clean, service is friendly, and there's basically no wait for food. read more

A send off for me at a brewery ultimately led to a late night delivery for nuggets. The order: a whopper meal with regular coke and a side of honey mustard and a side of BBQ; a 10 piece nugget meal with a side of BBQ and a side of ranch. By accident we ordered both of these meals with two different Postmates. I eagerly waited TWO TIMES next to our front door because we have the quietest doorbell in existence. The first order went off with out a hitch. The second one not so much- fries spilled all over the bag and no straw... but alas I consumed golden crispy nuggets adjacent to my best friend puking. A wonderful combination of honey mustard, BBQ sauce, whatahurger spicy ketchup and the sweet sound of wrenching really took our McDonald's experience to the next level. Would mix again. read more

I have twice had an encounter in the drive-thru with the same female employee. I've learned the hard way to check my order before I leave because I oftentimes find out that they did not include the dipping sauce for the Happy Meal or the straws for the kids' drinks. In order to get the sauces, I had to empty all of the bags for the lady. I'd checked the bags prior to asking for the sauces, but I accommodated her request. She begrudgingly gave me sauces and slammed her window. Next incident, no straws. She came back to the window when she discovered that I hadn't driven away, opened the window and asked, "What do you need?" I said I didn't have any straws. She said, "In the bag" and slammed the window. I yelled, "Are you kidding me??!!" She opened up the window and I said, "I want a manager." The manager stood in a way so as to hide his name tag, said only, "Sorry, I'll talk to her." and then the window was again shut. All the while, the employee was behind him, yelling at me in Spanish. Here's the thing: I'm a customer service nut. I've done my time in the food industry and then some. I understand, I really get it. It's not like I was there during peak hours; it's not like I had an isolated incident. I've been there at least a dozen times and I have only had a smooth drive-thru experience twice. That's horrible. I clearly paid for the items that should have been in the bag. Why do they insist on making me feel like a thief and a burden? What makes me even more angry is that they acted that way in front of my children. I've boycotted the University location and have told my coworkers at the medical center about my multiple horrible experiences. read more

So this is the closest a McDonald's can get to the Ave and still stay open. Yelp considers this establishment in the U-District but it is actually in University Village. As far as McDonald's go this place is pretty standard, if not slightly more clean. The lady who served me was very patient with me and my McRib ignorance. The man who seemed like the manager was also very patient with another customer who essentially built his 'sandwich' item by item. I was going to have the McRib as it was "available for a limited time only," but as usual I was inexplicably compelled to order the McNuggets (a.k.a. the "little brown devils," as I call 'em) again. I'd have given them two stars but I was so greatful to have a place to eat a warm meal after 9 p.m. on a cold November night, ven it it is a McDonald's. read more

Oh what the hell, I can't pretend I don't eat here. I'm not a 'regular', but I take my 7 year old here on occasion as a treat. This is a nice McDonalds! They just renovated the place top to bottom. Tasteful interior, nice music playing. Service is always reasonably good. I've seen many of the same faces on staff there for years. Only difficulty is that the drive through doesn't have much space for a line, so during rush periods, traffic can back up onto 25th ave. As McDonalds go, this is a good one. read more
