We stopped here for a quick bite enroute to a State Park near Clinton, IL. It is about 1.5 miles from the freeway but the plus is you end up getting a fresh sandwich because it's always busy. Landen was personable and provided excellent service from our order and prompt delivery to our table. He was very friendly and calm even though it was super busy. (Thanks Landen!) We ordered the spicy deluxe McCrispy chicken sandwiches which arrived hot. I didn't know but the sandwich consists of a whole chicken breast that's bigger than the bun! It's a well balanced sandwich and the heat is in the sauce but it's not too spicy. You can always request sauce on the side. The large facility has lots of parking, plenty of nice seating areas in the dining area and clean bathrooms are always a plus! read more

After I went through the drive-through, I was told a way to pick up window number three where I waited for more than a half an hour to receive my order and no one checked on me until I phoned the restaurant and received very little apology. I will never stop at this location again. read more

Two separate experiences here but beware. After a doctor's appointment that I had to fast for at 3pm I got profiled by a very nosy manager who needed to see my ticket for the food I paid for, then ran towards me as I tried to take my food, and said 'oh! That *is* your food!' in surprise. (I guess If you don't want to be treated like a criminal don't come in the afternoon?) And the other day, we ordered and watched as a woman almost did the splits and fell on her way to the bathroom due to the overly slick floors, got our food and found that the fries were salt less, and the sauces for our nuggets were wrong. We returned to the store, went inside and waited for anyone to acknowledge us with our receipt and wrong sauce in hand. The manager proceeded to snarkily yell at us when we tried to grab the correct sauce for ourselves despite not acknowledging our existence at all prior. She then proceeded to say 'I'll get to it' in a tone best left to the Karens of reddit. Another employee stepped in to give us our sauces. Perhaps the manager should have been more focused on helping customers get the correct sauce that they incorrectly packed instead of asking another employee to run to the gas station to get her a drink. Just had the worst experience in the drive through ever. Lady giving me my food was upset at the fact that I had 2 mobile orders. Also upset at the fact that I ordered 2 things they were out of. On the way up to Chicago I was underwhelmed by the nearby Wally's. On the way back I stopped at this McDonald's. The fries were fine, but the burgers were rubbery. Service was fine, I suppose. Can't comment on the ambiance or decor since it was a drive-thru visit. read more

I mean, it's McDonalds, I get it. Not expecting a Michelin star, however we were hoping for a better experience than this. The bathroom was gross. I know, has nothing to do with the food but still important when you've been on the road for hours. We ordered two sausage egg and cheese biscuit meals. The hash brown was decent, but not salted. The egg, biscuit and sausage Patty parts were bland and rubbery. Coffee was fine but the OJ was clearly watered down. Every time we come here, they get our order wrong. The employees are always rude when we try to go in and get our order fixed, and they all seem to claim that a manager is never around when we ask to talk to one. I get that everything is going more "self-serve" when it comes to ordering, etc, but Heaven help you at these places if you would prefer to order at the counter or need some assistance. You order at a kiosk, then have to wait at the counter to get your cup. Everyone behind the counter just walks by you like you don't exist. No acknowledgement that you are even there. No asking if there is anything you need. Do you remember the days when you would order a meal at the counter and you'd get your cup(s)? You'd have time to get your drinks and set them at a table, then (usually) it would be about perfect timing for your order being ready. Now you order, go sit down with your number, then they shout your order number from the counter (guess that they don't always bring it to the table like they indicate), then you have to manage a full tray at the drink station while you fill drinks. And why do you prepare every order as "to-go"? The kiosk asks me if I plan to dine-in or take the order to-go. Even when I indicate "Here" and go sit down with a number, they shout my order from the counter, and I get a bag. Why? It gives me the impression that you aren't paying attention or just don't care. If you're going to have the technology, use it, but don't forget that there -is- a customer behind that number. read more

Yelp shows that this location opens at 4:30 am. This may be affected in the times of Covid, who knows? The must be open by 6 because I see cars there every morning on my way to work. Except this morning. The line was there, I know because I was in it. There was a line of cars waiting to sit at the speaker and not be spoken to. Employees were in the building; I saw a half dozen of them in there as I drove off with the other customers. Apparently, this crew had other stuff going on. Maybe they were drinking the coffee that we were all in line to get. Maybe they were having a meeting about how they could keep their customer service up to the high standards that are apparent if you read the reviews on this location. I guess they could have been discussing how to properly sit at drive through window #1 and put forth less effort in taking payment. They probably just had to post something on facebook about how they take pride in their job. Whatever it was, I am sure it was more important than serving customers. I am sure that the hours that they want to work are more important than the hours they are supposed to be open. I bet the hours that they post on the door and their website are only suggestions. Pontiac McDs strikes again! My son ordered on the app for bkfst last Monday. Apparently they had a fire and the app didnt stop orders. He went to get food and no one brought it out and no answer on phone.Contacted Mcds Corp (via 800# and App Support) last week and wont give him his money back for food he didnt get because they are a Franchisee and they get the $. Mgrs at Mcds Pontiac said they cant do anything (even credit us for food)..so we asked for Owners #. They gave us a bogus # 3 diff times of calling back. I looked # up (Paul and Mary Brezney 309-246-4777) and was told by a snotty receptionist that the app is Corp ran not franchisee ran. I said so Franchisee gives free food away and Corp keeps the $? She said no..Corp pays them. So..they have our money that was given to Corp but wont refund or give us credit back. They apparentlyneed $ sooo bad they steal from hard-working a 16 yo. Feel free to call that # any time your order is messed up. Im sure they love hearing about it. Everyone should blow that # up instead of Corp 800#. read more

I know things are really hard for fast food locations right now with worker shortages, so I'm giving them an extra star for being open during difficult circumstances. That said..... this was unfortunately one of the worst McDonald's I've ever been to. There was an abandoned overflowing garbage cart out side as if someone had been emptying the trash cans and just left it. I went into the bathrooms about 10am on a Sunday morning, and it was not very clean. Waaaaay too dirty for an early Sunday morning. Definitely made me think that it hadn't been cleaned since the previous day. Staff behind the counter were yelling at each other. I went to get some sweet tea while I was waiting for my order, and the "use by" sticker was for 2:00 pm the previous day. The male cashier had been very nice and pleasant, but he was just about the good part of the visit. If you're doing a Sunday drive on Route 66 and want to stop for breakfast.... keep driving. read more

Food good for fast food. The open WiFi is non existent. I tried for over 30 minutes to get connected on my tablet. Finally gave up and switched to my phone which I am posting this review with via my mobile data. Poor WiFi signal quality and basically unusable. I came here to grab a bite and relax in between appointments and use my tablet. Ultimate fail. Well the night started off fine and dandy and then it got worse. So you know can't meat on Friday so I tried to order hot cakes on the machine but they don't have all day breakfast on those soooo I ordered at the counter. Which is fine except for the fact that I said 3 hot cakes just like it says on the menu update the lady thought I wanted 3 orders of hot cakes. Wasted 11 dollars at McDonald's a little upset not gonna lie. So after being stunned about my 9 total hot cakes I started chewing down. After I was laughed at. When I got to my second order of three they were rock hard. Crisper than a potato chip. So I waddled up to the counter and proceeded to say these are hard cakes not hot cakes. They took them and NEVER CAME BACK. Later on I went back up there and asked for them were the worker proceeded to yell at the other worker that they didn't take care of my pancakes. In case your wondering I did finally got my hot cakes. Oh and if all of that wasn't enough they forgot about my order of fries. read more

Do not come here expecting the usually-decent McDonald's free AT&T WiFi, as the 3-bars of reception you'll receive in the lobby translate as incredibly slow and unreliable (read: "constant, catastrophic packet loss" for those techy types). I requested the chicken nuggets be made fresh and they tasted good. The workers are young, but they were friendly, polite and competent. The cooks were somewhat rowdy, though, and I applaud the manager for "stepping on their toes" some while getting them to remember that "less (not-work-related) talk, more action" gets the food out quicker to the customer. read more

No hot picante ever there. Every other McDonald's in the entire USA carries hot picante and serves it as a standard with burritos. No no no not this one.
