I am one of those people, unfortunately. The food is familiar, easy to decide and no thinking or deciding necessary. That's probably why people continue to buy McDonald's. This McDonald's is no exception. Ordered "fast food" but probably waited just as long, if not, longer than being in a sit down restaurant. Before that, we had a mobile order that didn't show up in their queue so my initial wait was completely moot. The people behind the counter just looked at me with the stupid look on their faces. This location is one of the worst McDonald's I have ever been to. Immediately after entering the drive thru, the person working it failed to simply greet us but ensured they ask if we were going to be using the app. I understand efficiency but it's 9am, that morning rush has slowed down substantially. The attitudes here are astonishing because of how bad they are. Even the manager has an attitude! You get paid 20+ an hour, more than a "normal" minimum wage and you can't even have a smile on your face. I bet if you ordered a happy meal, it'd have a frown on it. Will not be going back! Very disappointing experience incorrect order and poor customer service...... I'm extremely disappointed with my experience at this McDonalds I spent over $50 on food for my family and when I got home after a 30 minute drive I realized that they had left out more than half of my order. it was missing multiple items. I called the restaurant to let them know what happened. The employee which was a older lady with dyed hair who I recognized the voice as the same one who took my order did admit that they had messed up my order but instead of offering any kind of solution I was basically just told to just drive back and pick up the rest of my food. I had already explained that I live a far distance away and had just driven 30 minutes home yet there was very little concern or effort to make the situation right. I was even told that if I couldn't come back right then I could just come "any other day" to get the rest of my food. . On top of that I was also charged for an extra drink that I never ordered. I was very clear when placing my orderbut the entire order wasn't displayed on the drive-thru screen which is something I've normally seen at other McDonald's locations. I didn't realize there was an extra item on my order until I looked at my receipt after. I understand Mistakes happen especially with bigger orders but what really bothered me was how they handled it after. I shouldn't have to drive another 30 minutes because they forgot items I already paid for. The only thing consistent about this place is how often they screw up my order which is nearly every time. One time I had to go back inside three times for them to get the order, right. I noticed something that is a little different about this McDonald's. They are cheaper than both the ones in Arroyo Grande and Grover Beach. Example: Ice Cream Cone Pismo Beach - $.99 Grover Beach - $2.89 Arroyo Grande - $3.12 And the ones that are more expensive, do not give you a large amount. They just give you a small bite. This is literally THEE WORST McDonald's location I've ever been to...I try not to go to this location but sometimes I'm just closest to it and every time I go there, there's an issue. And I can never communicate the issue because the person I'm trying to talk to, never speaks English. I left the drive-thru without even trying this time because the guy who handed me my bag seemed incompetent (I asked him for ketchup and he said, "Whah happen??" Customer service needs to be reevaluated. The past few years I've noticed I have left feeling annoyed and confused at the way me and the individual I work with have been treated. We cannot use the kiosk due to mental disability so we have to order in person. They usually ignore us for a while and then when they do the interaction seems off, like they are annoyed. Yesterday we went and I ended up ordering at the kiosk for myself after the individual that I work with ordered at the front (the experience was ok, she was helpful but towards the end you can tell she seemed annoyed. You would think seeing that the individual ordering has a mental disability she would give them grace but guess not). So I ordered at the kiosk making sure that I ordered the correct sauce because I have received the wrong one before at a different location which isn't a big deal. I got my meal and it only came with one sauce (normally it comes with two but it's fine) and it was the wrong one so I went up to the front to get the correct one and the male staff looked and then walked back to ask the original girl who took our order and she told him no. She walked up to me and said "you ordered hot honey" and I said "did I?" I was confused because I triple checked. She gave me the correct one but she wasn't happy about it. I went back to look at my receipt and it said "honey mustard" the one I had originally ordered/wanted. I don't know if she was having a bad day or what but reading other reviews it seems that this location doesn't want to give you any extras and are a bit rude about it. Drive thru lady this morning is plain rude. Gentlemen who took my order asked me if I wanted salsa and I said yes please. The next window lady was upset that I did not want to move as I told her there is no cars behind me , doesn't make sense to move. To the point she was upset she just handed my bag and did not say anything . I checked my bag and I notice no salsa so I was waiting so I can ask her and she ignore me and she finally looks my way and gives me a mean face and I said " there is no salsa" and she toss me the salsa packets on my hand where they fell in my car . This McDonalds is usually decent. The food arrives quickly and the usual plentiful menu provides a wide selection to choose from. I typically order the chicken nuggets and fries. However, this time my chicken nuggets were on the dry side (not juicy) and my fries were heavily salted. Only problem was the chicken nuggets tasted like they'd been in a warmer for a very long time. Definitely not fresh made. This McDonald's is across the street from Pismo Beach Outlets. Since my husband and I had a heavy, late lunch, we ended up deciding to grab a late dinner. We ended up coming to this McDonald's since they are closeby our hotel and are open late. I should have looked onto Yelp before coming in, with an overall rating for this place is 2.5 stars at the time of this review. We came in a little before 9:30 pm and used the kiosk to make an order. However, as we waited for our items, we eventually realized that people that made an order at the register had gotten their orders significantly sooner than ours, even though we made our order through the kiosk before them. Anyways, we ended up ordering to go: Grilled Chicken Southwest Salad, $5.99 prior to tax- Standard salad, was fine. Just thought it is strange that they already a cilantro lime glaze all mixed in, even though you get to pick the dressing and get it on the side. There is just too much of that glaze and wished they either put half the amount they normally would use or put that on the side too. Happy Meal, $4.39 prior to tax- This meal was ordered with the hamburger, extra fries and a Hot Wheels toy (Barbie toy is the other option). Instead of making this happy meal healthier and getting sliced apples or a Gogurt, we opted for fries instead. We did not get our 2nd bag of fries (please note that the happy meal already comes with a small order of fries). The fries we did get was old, as it was cold and stale. Being that I had once worked at McDonald's (the summer before I started high school, because my dad made me get a job), I still recall being told during training that old fries will get tossed after a certain amount of time (if there are any) because a customer should have fresh tasting fries no matter what time they come in (from 10 am to 10 pm, it should still taste fresh). 20 Piece McNuggets, $5 prior to tax- Just like our fries, these chicken nuggets were also old, as they were also cold and stale. Definitely the worse tasting nuggets I have ever had (not that I eat fast food or chicken nuggets often). McDouble, $5.78 prior to tax for the price of 2- Standard and filling. ----------------------------- (Total= $22.91 after tax) The staff calling out our order number and handing us what we purchased, was friendly. She asked if we wanted ketchup and threw in some extra napkins because I had asked. Overall, a pretty meh experience and would stay away from this location. The only thing going for this location is that they open late and are just located in a convenient area. Do yourself favor and go to Jack In The Box next door or the nearby In N Out (which closes at 1 am) if you must eat fast food in this area. read more

This is a McDonald's just crossed the street from the outlet mall in Pismo Beach. The location is very good and very convenient. I am thereafter I have visited the outlets and wanna drink. The Mocha Frappuccino is done very well compared to the other McDonald's. Stopped in here on our road trip along the coast. If you miss the exit when you are on north 101 - 5 Cities Drive, no worries - grab the next exit and circle back on south 101. We used the drive thru - they were very prompt. Have to say - they get 5 stars for the food!!!!!! YUM~~~ These are legit McDonald's fries - just like you grew up with - not too soggy - but not fried to death and the right amount of salt to make you feel guilty for licking your fingers.
