All four burgers (two cheeseburgers with no pickle and two regular hamburgers) had a thin smattering of ketchup. No mustard, no onions, no pickles on the two we expected to be regular.. Burgers were truly unpalatable :dried out and luke warm. The buns were hard--like they had been microwaved then let to cool. The large fries were soggy and luke warm. McDonald's on Fleming Island, I ordered a filet of fish sandwich and this is what I got. Luke warm sandwich with half of a piece of cheese. When I asked the expediter about the sandwich, he told me that the filet of fish comes with only a half piece of cheese now. Love how they place the half slice of cheese on only half of the bun. As far as McDonald's goes, this is the standard to what you see is what you get. The food is by no means excellent, but you're paying for the reliable convenience of cheap as well as fast food you shouldn't expect it to be 5 star dining. I always say, never say never, however, I am NEVER going to McDonald's again! So we went today and Hubby wanted to try the Quarter Pounder while I got the Big Mac. The line was long and I really did not care as I have a lot of patience. I did call the store and spoke with a manager whom stated they are training new grillers but the meat should've been checked for temperature as well as making sure it was done. Really did not understand the wait for fresh food if two patties are still raw. No excuses should be placed especially if this is the business of selling done burgers. So I say, NEVER AGAIN! Called shortly after midnight to get a quick bite after a long day before heading home. The trek was approx 10 miles away and McDonald's closer to me on Green Cove Springs just secured for the night. Any how, i called Fleming Island McDonald's and asked if they were still open? The employee answered and said "this is why I (she) answered the phone (of course in a rude/sarcastic voice). Then before I could ask my follow on question, she hung up. So I called 4 more times, and each time she hung up without even answering. BTW, my follow on question would have been, "till what time?" To make sure it wasn't closed when I got there. Since it was 10 miles opposite of where I was headed. I am a big supporter of McDonald's, as I like many utilized their services for years. As a Navy guy of 26 years, I'm also a believer in customer service, treating people with respect and fixing what's broken. So I hope whomever answered my phone call, gets some rest, revisit the golden rule and wake up refreshed and ready to do it all over again... I would say three and half maybe four stars. This McDonald's has gotten a lot better with getting orders right and forgetting less. The employees are more desirable and most times food is fresh. This is the location I use to most frequent. As far as value, Mcdonalds does ok. It's fast food and you have options other than typical high calorie and high fat food. The reason for my low rating is for the service. I ordered breakfast in the afternoon and so I expected a little wait, but after 15 mins, no food. When I asked the manager, she asked the person working the window if she had an order waiting, and the response was no... I went to McD's honestly because I didn't have time for anywhere else. I go to Fleming Island McDonalds weekly. The customer service during the evening is never great. The employees always seem annoyed and the managers could care less. This Friday was the last straw and the reason I decided to write this review. I ordered a #7 w/o meat as my daughter doesn't ear the meat patties. A McChicken w/o lettuce and mayo add 2 slices of cheese. I paid the $2.48 for the extra cheese no problem, I expect to pay for it. I get to the window to get the food and ask for a sweet n sour sauce. The cashier says that will be .50 cents. I said it is a condiment why is there a charge. He said there is a charge for extra sauce. I said it isn't extra I only want 1 sauce he said .50. I said can a speak to the manager...he turns to the manager and says she wants a sweet n sour she looks at me and says .50 I said ma'am I just spent almost $20 on a value meal a mcChicken and a drink...why would I be charged for 1 sauce? She just walked away....I have never been charged for 1 sauce at any McDonalds. Not at this store or any other. The manager could have cared less...there was no notices anywhere that they charge money for condiments. I find it really sad that management would treat a customer like that. To not even listen or care. I called the 800 # on the door for customer comments and there was no answer I tried a 2nd time it rang and rang then hung up. I'll email corporate about this.
