This is the best McDonald's I've been to. Food is hot & fresh and the staff was quick & efficient. Way to go!!

Food was decent. But the 2 day old turd in the toilet has really attracted a lot of flies. The server had a fly on her face and all I could think of was, I bet that fly just came from that turd. My daughter loved her chicken nuggets but she was a little disgusted when one of those turd flies landed on her arm and left a shit stain like Mr. Hankey the Christmas Poo. read more

Every time I go through the drive through, doesn't matter day or night, the employees are always so impatient and rude. I used to come to this on because they had good customer service and the food was always fresh but that is not the case within the last few months. read more

Stopped here on a 8 hour road trip back home to try and not add extra time. The customer service was horrible. The cashier tried to end the order after 1 item and we had to explain repeatedly we wanted to order more food. Then we tried to use McDonald's rewards and they repeatedly say "internet is down!" So we ask can they do it themselves since it's not our fault their internet is down. Manager comes over and throws a fit about it and is very snotty saying she guesses she can...then she didn't take it off when we look at the receipt. Further, they charged for 2 fries when we only ordered 1. Horrible workers. Go elsewhere read more

i'm a student at lake land so i go to this McDonald's quite often and every time I get something they mess it up. I ordered a large coffee he gave me a large orange juice cup with coffee in it and i said it was wrong and he told me i was wrong . Today i ordered a bacon mcdouble got my receipt that said bacon mcdouble and only gave me a normal one with no bacon when i paid for a bacon mcdouble. it's not hard to read and do your job. read more

This McDonald's is why I stopped at the Altamont McDonald's (see previous review). Back several months ago, when I told a colleague that I was headed here for work for a bit, her eyes lighted up and said, "You know, we stop there every time we go to the cabin because it's exactly halfway and the girls love the Playland!" Ok, so there are two exits for Mattoon, and I usually take the latter exit going I-57 North. And that's the one that has the Playland. This one does not have a Playland. I guess it might have something to do with the fact that it's so close to Lake Land College, which is probably the only reason why McDonald's put two storefronts up in Mattoon. (that and because Burger King can't, but that's another story for another day.). So a less than stellar McDonald's? You don't say! *I had LivingSocial coupons and they had no idea what to do with them. It took awhile. *They charged me for tax when they shouldn't have with a free coupon (but it's not like they've been the only ones.). *As I was pulling away, I could hear one co-worker say to the other, "Do you KNOW how much she just paid for her meal? 19 cents!" (Well, it should be have been zero because I had paid ahead of time...but again, whatever.). Lakeland Blvd is also a divided highway where you pull out of the McDonald's, so there is no way to get back onto I-57 unless you make a U-turn off of the 4 lane highway once the median disappears further on. Maybe the best McDonald's I've been to. Staff was busy, they were super friendly and very efficient. They were really polite to each other, kept cool under pressure and worked well as a team. The cashier, a young, skinny, dark haired gentleman, was funny and delightful. We usually stop for a quick bite when on the road after the holidays and usually fast food places are a mess- good job guys! read more

I came to this place two days in a row. The first time, they screwed up my order and the food was almost ice cold. The sodas were watered down and they forgot our straws. We were guaranteed our next order to be free- all $40 of it. We were supposed to get the same order as before. When we came to get our food the next day, the employee at the drive thru said that they could only give us one to two meals free. When we told them what was said the night before, they said that they couldn't authorize it and then preceded to not give us their GM's name or number. As we pulled away, the employee then SLAMMED the window on us. They gave us a corporate number that didn't even answer the three times that we tried it. read more

I prefer this location over the one by Walmart, mainly because there is less traffic and they don't screw up my order like the other one does. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because EVERY TIME I order an apple juice for my daughter's happy meal, they forget it. read more

Stopped here today because it was right off the interstate and I wish I hadn't! Ordered a southern style chicken and when I got in the car and my husband drove off the box was right but it was a fillet of fish sandwich with pickles on it. Not chicken. I come here for coffee every few days and lunch often. The employees are friendly and seem to have been here long enough to know why they are doing. They don't squabble or goof off, and they are kind to the little old men who come in every day. read more

I go to this McDonalds every weekend to get a breakfast sandwich. I get a bacon egg and cheese bagel and ask for extra breakfast sauce every time. They charge me for the extra which is totally understandable, but every time i my sandwich, I see that they just don't put any sauce on at all... this happens EVERY single time... but I've worked in food service for many years and just don't want to make a fuss because they are always very nice and quick. They're politeness is the only reason I keep going there and now I just simply ask for my extra sauce on the side. So problem solved. Well this morning I go there and am informed that I was a few minutes too late to can a bagel sandwich.. so no big deal right? I just decide I'll get something different, but since I never get anything else, I wanted to ask what they were serving at the moment (including the all day breakfast menu). Well this young guy taking my order scoffs at my question and rudely says. "Uhh lunch?", I respond, "well you do still serve some breakfast, so I just want to know what all is included in that." He (annoyed at this point) pauses for a long time and says, "biscuits and McGriddles...." but said it in a way that made it obvious he wanted me to hurry up and order.. the tone that he responded in really just threw me off and I just said "ok, smartass..." and just drove off. I won't be going back to that location and spending anymore money. This may not seem like a legit reason to some people, but I found his attitude to be so rude and unnecessary, especially when I'm the one who's trying to just order something else and not be picky. obviously my business means nothing to them anyways... so Ill just go somewhere that can handle answering a simple question. read more

Awesome! They always get our order correct, and are always patient with the details. Sure, we've had a couple of mix-ups with sauce requests, but it's never a huge deal, and the food tastes good. The only McDonald's in town I'll go to. Great work! read more
