Quick breakfast after procedure at Vassar Hospital. X Benedict replaced with bacon instead of…read moreCanadian bacon and I had the eggs Benedict Florentine. We both wanted the home fries extra crispy. My sister checked in to see if they were made with onions. We were told that they were not so we went for it. Anyone who follows my reviews knows I have allergies to alliums so we made the point to let our waiter, Matt know. He was quite alert, and I believe made an effort to make sure that he communicated my allergy to the kitchen. It did not take long for our order to come out and it was stunning and massive. See the photograph. Unfortunately, my sister noted almost immediately that there was onion on the plate. How disappointing because it looked so good. We flagged down Matt to let him know. He was very apologetic and swept the plate away back to the kitchen returning a few minutes later to let me know that the hashbrowns were not an option. We replace those with french fries. Overall, the plate was returned about 10 minutes later and looked free of onions. The eggs were cooked the way we asked, and the french fries were crispy, although they appear to have been tossed in cornstarch or flour to make them crispy - that's a coating which I'm not fond of. All in all, the eggs were delicious and the portion size could have fed three people. We ordered a couple of desserts to take away. Grand total was about $50. Yikes. Add the tip and you're up to $65 for breakfast. I recognized that this was a fancier breakfast and not eggs over very easy, etc. but $50 for two breakfast and two desserts two beverages. That's a lot. Even at the price of groceries these days, $65 still goes a long way in the breakfast category. The ambience is classic diner and very clean the service was quite attentive, friendly, and professional although we did have to flag Matt down a couple of times. I don't think he was distracted, I think it was more his workflow. The loss of the star is because I was served something I was allergic to. That's not really excusable, but they did apologize. I am convinced that he advised the kitchen of my allergy but before finalizing my order, a trip to the kitchen to verify about whether onions or garlic was in any of the food would have been appreciated

Most of them are the same and consistently is a good thing. You know what you're getting every time. There are rocking chairs outside with a giant checkers board as well. The store is the first part once you walk in and they have all kinds of snacks, drinks, toys, souvenirs, shirts and much more. Some of it is branded stuff and most of it is pretty unique stuff. The restaurant is past that and you check in with the hostess and hopefully there isn't a wait. I usually get the breakfast and it's good every time. Breakfast all day as well which awesome. Service was good too.

I have never, in all of my 75 years of life, asked to speak to the manager of a restaurant but I…read moreguess that there's a first time for everything. Our visit began well. Our waitress, Hope, was very sweet and took our order promptly. After waiting about 30 minutes, we asked about our order. Hope explained that a bus had arrived and that the kitchen had been overwhelmed. We hadn't seen a bus or an unusually large number of customers, but she kindly offered us some biscuits while we waited. The biscuits were delicious, although we hadn't wanted to fill up on bread before our meal. When our food finally arrived, my companion's meatloaf was cold, so he had to send it back to be reheated. I had ordered French toast, but pancakes arrived instead. Hope checked her order pad, confirmed that I had indeed ordered French toast, and offered to take the pancakes back. Unfortunately, that turned out to be a mistake. Within about two minutes, she returned with what was supposed to be French toast. It looked like slices of bread that had been hastily dipped in egg and barely cooked. The slices were white rather than the golden-brown color you would expect from properly prepared French toast. I tried a piece, and it essentially tasted like bread. It was so undercooked that I called it "raw French toast." When Hope came back to check on us, I told her that the French toast was inedible. Her response was simply to ask if we wanted the check. When we went to pay our tab, the cashier asked if we had been happy with our meal. I took the opportunity to say no, and she called over the manager. I briefly explained my disappointment and the manager promptly offered to remove the cost of my meal from the bill. That was satisfactory but I didn't get the feeling that she was going to talk to the cook about the fact that such horrible food should never have left the kitchen to begin with. Was she going to try to improve the service for the next customer? I understand that restaurants can get busy, and I appreciated Hope's pleasant attitude but waiting roughly 30 minutes for our food, receiving cold meatloaf, and then being served essentially uncooked French toast is not an acceptable dining experience. What was especially disappointing was that there didn't seem to be any real attempt to correct the problem once I explained that my meal was inedible. I left hungry and disappointed and probably won't eat French toast again for the rest of my life!

Especially in New England where they are decrepid, filthy, falling apart and the staff eat the ingredients. This Subway went out of its way - entirely - to make the shop fun, visible, customer friendly, even hip for the young crowd: they had a really NIFTY brick graffiti sign in front of the shop at the entrance to the lot (and very visible from the street: smart move) which beckons eaters. Inside this Subway was bright, airy, fresh, clean and crisp with full ingredients near the counter. They had freezers with drinks and water and even 3-4 round tables for customers to chat at! The diner itself is an old dining car, and walking through the door puts you in a nostalgic mood. My server, Desiree, was great - attentive, effusive, knowledgeable, whatever great attribute you can think of. Breakfast served all day, so I had two eggs over medium, home fries, corned beef hash (housemade), and rye toast. The CHB was spot on, and the home fries nice and crispy. Coffee bottomless and good. The current owners recently celebrated their 35th year! In answer to my usual question, Desiree was able to find out that the Millbrook Diner uses about 200 dozen eggs in a typical week (or 2,400 actual eggs)! I like nostalgia, good food, great service (that's you, Desiree) and fair prices. This diner checks all those boxes. 5 stars PS - I am not a bot or AI generated!

We picked it mainly because it was open. The first table they set us at was way too tight of a fit...I'm not a tiny person and also not an obscenely large one either...they allowed us to move to the end. The staff was all chatty teenagers who thought playing on their phones and talking to each other was their job. My drink sat empty for most of my meal and you couldn't get their attention. When I walked in and saw the pies I had decided on dessert. But after bad service I skipped it. Despite that my girlfriend got a float and it was good. Food came out hot and pretty fast and was not bad, 3.5 stars. Fries were basic. I got the reuben and the girlfriend got the club on gluten free bread. Their knowledge of allergies did not inspire confidence in us as they demonstrated little understanding of food allergies. I would not recommend this place for people with gluten-free diets or other allergies. Total was about $45 before tip. Would not return.
