Fine little burger store near CSN Henderson. They serve breakfast. You can get coffee here. Your basic, new-look McDonald's store inside. Very soulless. It seems dark and sad. Workers can be found smoking cigarettes and marijuana next to the dumpster.

If I could give zero stars, I would. I walked up to this McDonald's on a 90-degree day and immediately noticed a group of teenagers sitting outside, red-faced from the heat, eating their food on the curb. When I tried to enter, I realized the door was locked -- and was only let in because I happened to arrive as someone else was exiting. That's when I witnessed the manager, Mike, telling these kids to "hurry up and get out." I asked him directly if teenagers weren't allowed inside and was shocked when he said "No, not after yesterday." Apparently, there had been a fight, and he "wished he had banned them four years ago." I asked if all the teens were involved in the fight, and he admitted, "No," but then refused to explain himself further. Let me be clear: Mike is targeting an entire group of kids based on the actions of a few. He's not banning troublemakers -- he's banning teenagers. Period. And to make it worse, he's still letting them come in to order food (you know, to take their money), and then forcing them out. I watched him demand they leave after paying for their meals. This man is aggressive, smug, and completely unmoved when I pointed out that these kids were sitting outside, overheating in the sun. He simply said they should go "somewhere else." What kind of grown adult targets kids, punishes innocent people, and hides behind "right to refuse service" while still profiting off them? This isn't just bad business -- it's morally bankrupt and straight-up discriminatory. McDonald's should be ashamed of allowing someone like Mike to represent their brand. Corporate was disgusted to hear of this as well. I encourage the parents and concerned customers to call corporate too. It's disgusting that he is allowed to dictate this public place while also still collecting money from them. YUCK!!!

My POV
Monster X.

Mc double $5 combo (I think they charge six bucks) the burger and fries were hot. The Coke was nice and cold and my meal was delicious.

The drive thru is always so long, so long full of mini vans filled with kids. I don't recommend any of their food, unless of course you like McDonald's and think it actually tastes good. I decided to try a burger and fries after not having it in a good 15 years. I was extremely disappointed and had a coating of grease stuck in my mouth for the night. I do, however, recommend getting the ice cream cones, McFlurrys or diet cokes. The cones never disappoint and the cokes are always so crisp and refreshing. I stay far away from the food. The drive thru usually moves pretty quick even though it's always busy.

Well what can one say it's fast food in it's naturalist state. Deal with it or move on. Service is hit or miss.

From Ube Ensaymada to a Turon Brulee Latte, they have it all and more. Plenty of seating and definitely the right vibes for a productive study sesh. Brandon and John were so kind and helpful when ordering, guiding us through their menu and pastry options. They truly brought the meaning of "kapamilya" so shoutout to them!! We ended up ordering a Pizza Croissant and Pistachio Banana Bread, which were both delicious! The Pizza Croissant was just the right amount of savory, which contrasted nicely with the nutty and sweet flavor of the Pistachio Banana Bread. We also ordered a classic Ensaymada, which is this fluffy bread with a light cream on top! Get it warmed, and it is SOOOO good to pair with your coffee. As for our drinks, we ordered a Ferrero Latte, a Pistachio Latte, and a Flat White. The Flat White really showcased the quality of their beans, which was only enhanced in the lattes. The Ferrero was silky smooth, and honestly tasted like a melted Ferrero Rocher. The Pistachio was nutty and subtle, which complemented the Ferrero greatly. If you want a taste of that Filipino warmth, definitely stop by Middle Black Sheep! We definitely plan on coming back to try the rest of the menu, and so should you.

I found a space and only had about a two-minute walk to Public Works. The space is industrial but cozy, and I love the little community library in the red phone booth. That's such a cute touch and very on-brand for a neighborhood spot. It also turns into a wine bar at night. I ordered the iced matcha honey latte with almond milk. It was good, but definitely on the sweeter side. Almost milkshake-like. (Not frozen, just thicker and sweeter than a traditional matcha). I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for an earthy or classic matcha. The texture was a bit grainy with some settling at the bottom, and I did get a small clump in one sip. Not a big deal, just noticeable. If I had to guess, they use a pre-sweetened matcha powder. They don't advertise having pure or ceremonial matcha, so I'm not too pressed. Just sharing my experience. Service was quick and I got my drink within just a few minutes. There's plenty of indoor seating plus a spacious, dog-friendly patio. The vibe is very social and family-friendly, with lots of conversation, families, and groups. I personally wouldn't come here to study or work, but it seems like a great spot to meet with friends or family, or just a casual coffee run. I'd come back when I'm in the mood for something sweet. I'm curious to try the Cuban latte next time since it gets so much love. I'm glad I checked this place out.

They just seem to know what makes coffee Work…read more Public Works is a coffee bar that has called Henderson's Water Street home for years and years. I remember visiting once but maybe or maybe not buying a drink, then just never returning since it was a bit out of the water. But I relocated to a closer Henderson neighborhood and started checking out some of the nearby casinos, and it just seemed like a good idea to stop by today... and take advantage of a casino partnership as well. I tried two drinks. The Cold Brew ($7.00, 24 oz) felt like a dark roast at first but expressed mostly fruity notes later on. It was certainly smooth and low in bitterness and acidity. I also wanted to try a latte since that tends to be where these cafes get the most creative. The Cuban Honey ($7.00, 16 oz) was the recommendation of the employee at the register, and it was simple and tasty enough. Milk, honey, and cinnamon are some very classic and comforting flavors, and they're beautifully balanced in this latte. I was also interested in trying a quiche ($5.95), so I did. They come as a compact "personal" size and apparently just get heated warm for you even if you're taking them to-go. The Florentine is definitely spinach-forward but also seems to have mushrooms and caramelized onions. The crust is suitable, the egg custard isn't the most amazing, and it leans a bit salty overall, but it's an enjoyable food option. I probably blew past the parking lot which I'm vaguely aware of, but that's because parking was actually available on the street. Some spots were marked for 12 min only, but there were plenty of open unmarked spots a few yards up. The place was almost empty around Saturday lunch too. I have no idea why since it seemed quiet enough for a study or work spot. Public Works has filled a coffee-seeking niche in this area of Henderson for a long time, and hopefully they'll do so for years to come. If you play at Emerald Island or Rainbow Club, ask the casino about using points here since it's as good as money.
