This McDonald's is a complete joke and embarrassment. The employees clearly don't know what the hell they're doing because they can't speak English properly and they're just stupid in general. The food is overpriced and you don't even get it hot. Most of the time it's lukewarm. It also takes forever to get waited on by someone because they want you to use the stupid kiosk to place your order. If you go up to the counter, they'll just ignore you even when they can clearly see you waiting. Not everyone is gonna know how to use the kiosk, especially old people. took 15 mins for someone to wait on us, as the workers were filling drive thru orders and those who ordered thru kiosks. on getting a table my grandson picked the cleanest which wasn't really clean at all. Every table in the place hadn't been wiped down. At one table someone had their dog with them, not sure if it was a service dog or not but, that table wasn't wiped down after they left. Pulled up to the drive thru today and nobody acknowledged my presence. So, I decided to pull back around and park and walk in to order. Order was placed at 6:03pm by a boy who was visibly frustrated and asking for help from the manager and other employees. Nobody helped him, or even replied to his request for help. The customer ahead of me needed to speak to the manager and was told "it's too busy". I waited and waited until 6:30pm before asking for a refund! I had not seen anyone even working on my order, the employees were not verbalizing any issues or apologizing to anyone waiting. When I asked for my refund to find dinner elsewhere, the manger slammed over to the counter visibly annoyed with me. She said "gimme the money!" When I told her she owed me money she whispered to the boy at the register and threw a $20 bill on the counter and walked away. She owed me $22 and change. I asked for my receipt back and she ignored me. The boy at the register said she threw it away and did I want it from the trash. I decided to just take the $20 and go because I clearly wasn't going to get any further with them. While I waited, the manger also locked the door. There were at least 5 other employees working, mostly all taking care of the drive thru and ignoring the dine in customers. I'm not sure why she locked the door during dinner hours but there was no customer service and it definately wasnt fast food! I would not return unless big changes were made. read more

The food that I got from here yesterday was terrible. The fries were cold, burger was cold, the bun was soggy and tasted as if it was made an hour before I got it. After a couple of bites I decided to feed it to the seagulls and even they didn't seem impressed. Sad that this is the only fast food joint in the area. This place always has something up...whoever is ordering their stock in here is pretty terrible at their job. Multiple times I've gone they either don't have a certain type of pies (or they come HARD and they shouldn't even be served), they run out of soda (and don't tell you until after you order a meal and are at the window). This is consistently the worst McDonald's I've been to. Stop the franchise, corporate tag this place, or when Wendy's moves into Gloucester you'll be out of business. Normally I wouldn't write a review for McDonald's but my experience has been so awful here I just had to say something. McDonald's is the ONLY fast food option here in Gloucester, there isn't anything else even close, you would have to drive to Beverly to find something else. I've had too many bad experiences to count and the worst part is they don't even compensate you for your troubles when you have to bring the food back. I mean you can't even offer me fresh fries or a soda or something after the 50th time I've returned with my food?? Most of the employees don't speak English and this goes for the drive-thru as well. Not only that but what's the point of having two lanes for ordering when you don't even listen out for the second lane? There have been many times I have been stuck in the second lane and watched 4 or 5 cars in the first lane drive through and I had to backup to go through the first lane. I've told them over and over again about this and they don't seem to care. The food is very hit and miss, but mostly miss. My fries are rarely ever fresh and the one thing I love about McDonald's is the fries. They have been so stale and old it isn't even funny. I usually order the Grilled Chicken Sandwich meal but the chicken is slimy, old, and tastes rubbery. You can tell it's been sitting in a drawer for hours. I can't ever remember getting fresh chicken. I've had to return so many times that I now just pull into the parking lot to check my food because I KNOW I'm going to have to walk back in and get a new sandwich. The worst part is the managers don't care and barely even offer up an apology about it. The prices are pretty outrageous. If I had a Chipolete closer I would go there because I can get a gourmet burrito for less than a greasy meal at McDonald's. A lot of McDonald's have specials but not this one. They usually don't have any promotions so you are paying top dollar for garbage food. They tend to close early. I know they close at 10pm on the weekdays but I've driven by well before 10pm and the lights are off and they are shutdown. Also, a few months ago we had a minor snowstorm and this McDonald's didn't even open! I mean this is New England and we had a few inches of snow and at 7:30am they still weren't open lol. I'm giving these guys 2 stars because SOMETIMES the food is OK and the restaurant itself is clean and modern. If there was any other fast food option in Gloucester I wouldn't even attempt to eat at this place. I think they don't care because they know there isn't any other options close by. read more

McDonald's are pretty much McDonald's wherever they are, but our McDonald's is a small neighborhood place. It is an asset to our community in that they take great care with their landscaping and cleanliness. They make sure to remove all trash from their grounds every day. They also provide a safe place for community elders to relax and enjoy a snack. Their take-out window is almost always busy so they must be doing something right. My only criticism is that the interior decor is somewhat dated and needs an uplift. read more

I went into the store with my friend and ordered a sandwich a small fry and a small drink. My friend ordered a meal. I go to grab the food and oh, look there are 2 cups fry and 1 sandwich. So I show the cashier the receipt which clearly shows what we ordered and she just says "We gave you what you ordered" she said this three times. So I decided to ask for the manager. Guess what! I have visited this McDonald's three times in the last two weeks and ordered 20 piece nuggets that come with 3 sauces. Each time I asked for three sweet and sour sauces. The first two times I got home to find only 2 sauces and had to make them last. Tonight my wife picked up some food for me asked for the sauces and brought it to me at work. NO SAUCES AT ALL!!!!!! Ugh. McDonald's isn't exactly known for its high quality to begin with but I have a working theory that this is the black hole of the franchise. The further away I get from this particular McDonald's... the better experience I have and honestly better quality of food. First and foremost, they do not have a complete menu compared to other McDonald's. Let me repeat that, they do not have a complete menu. You cannot order a great deal of items in this location. Specialty quarter pounders? Nope. Bacon Clubhouse? Nope. Chicken sandwiches in general? Like maybe one or two. Expect a barebones experience. The spin they put in on this is "We're trying a new limited menu." No other McDonald's is doing this... it's more like "We don't want to have high food order bills for a tourist trap." Second, service is terrible. I can't tell you how many times I have almost missed a train or bus because I'm standing there for over 5 minutes without someone wanting to take my order. It seems like the priority for the cashier is to take an order, walk around like a chicken with their head cut off for a few minutes and wander back to the register. Seriously... take care of your customers. Ring them all in, then expedite their orders. It's not that hard of a strategy to do. Especially since it seems there is always 5 or 6 people who are managing the expediting and ringing of customers in drive thru and in house. Finally, despite tearing down the old building and putting up a new one... it always seems grimy in there. Not as though they're not cleaning the place... just seems grimy. Plus it also doesn't help that the place always seems to either attract angry old people in the morning and angry kids at night. Drive thru is the best bet, just hope they don't mess up your order. Even by McDonald's standards, only go here if you need something fast. read more
