cars parked in a parking lot
Marqus R.

This is a really big McDonald's with areas for both truck and car parking. It has a completely separate and rather large well equipped children's play. And when you place an order, they give you one of those remote buzzer thingies that vibrate, buzz and do a sparkling disco light routine when your order is ready. The food, of course, is the exact same as any other McDonald's of the area. I merely had a coffee, which coffee was rather good and their crispy buttermilk chicken. The sandwich, like all other McDonald's foods wasn't all that bad but certainly nothing gourmet or special. Considering the volume of customers, the staff here does a good job in keeping up, so 3 Stars.

I still like the fries. I wish they had sugar free milkshakes. The place is clean and great to take your kids to play.

The food was excellent, I had the cowboy breakfast, good and spicy, my wife had the sausage omelet, she said it was excellent, both came with home fries and they were fresh and homemade. Also both came with a side of toast. The inside is awsome with lots of old coke things and a toy section that brings back a lot of memories. We will for sure stop by when in the area. Service was also very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed.

The good: the smoked wings with the bourbon bbq were great! The pulled pork was tender with a great smoky flavor. The ribs were tender, fell off the bones and had good flavor. The brisket was going to be good but they served more fat than meat. When weighing it brisket there should be just a sliver of fat. The sides: the home cooked claim shouldn't be mentioned on canned corn as the daily vegetable. The broccoli salad was dripping in mayo. The apple sauce was also from a jar. The smoked mac and cheese was very good! Nice and crispy. The smoked baked potato was also tender. No toppings are offered. You do NOT get barbecue sauce on the side. You can choose one to go on the meat. If you want extra it's 1.50 per side. If you don't want the side that comes with a meal (baked beans and hush puppies) it is $2 for the mac n cheese and a $1 for the broccoli. I like when places let you choose your side from their list. Maybe an up charge for a specialty side but some should not have a charge. Water needs to be filtered. Casual atmosphere. Staff were nice. I would suggest some take out meats. I would have five four start for the meat if the sides were better and the bbq sauces were on the table. It should be standard for a bbq restaurant in my opinion.

When he saw my wife and I come in with kids in tow, he immediately entertained them while we had a chance to scope out the menu. As we ordered, he offered helpful tweaks - that seems like too much, if you have picky eaters we can do a grilled cheese, etc. He suggested the best sides and even ran to get the drinks filled at the fountain from the other side of the restaurant. 10/10 service that would have me back even if they served garbage. Fortunately, the food matched the service. My only complaint was that my burger was so juicy it squirted onto my shirt when I took a bite. That said, I'd sacrifice a shirt every time I can here if it meant I'd be treated to a perfectly juicy, expertly cooked patty. The sides were great too, led by the truffle fries. They had the perfect amount of Parmesan, finely grated so you didn't feel like you were just eating chunks of cheese, and the truffle oil was delicious. We also tried the Mac and cheese bites, which were tasty but a bit small if you want to split with more than two. If I'm ever in the area again, I'll find an excuse to get here and have another burger.

Walk in and the board challenges you with your options. There is even uh ... a Veggie burger (they keep a corner of the grill clean for those.) for those who don't indulge in the good stuff! Speaking of the grill ...it is kept nice and clean when the meat's not sizzling. Went with THE BLEND (chuck and brisket) on a pretzel roll. Added some aged gouda plus horseradish aioli oh my ...OH YES!!! Served open faced for the eyes to take in but I was eager to close it up and enjoy!! Cooked medium ... the juices poured out ... yes it got sloppy-good! The beef flavor came through midst all the other roll adornments! Tasted oh so good! A great burger! Ordered a side of fries ... they were plentiful but merely ok but we came for the BURGER!! Service was great ... friendly and interactive! There are only a few small tables (No room for all your friends!) and the "barr" which is a lengthy counter where you can eat your burgers elbow-to-elbow with friends or strangers. Another plus is the soda is top notch made with cane sugar (I chose water though.). If you're hungering for a really good burger now you know where to go.

From the moment we walked in, I was impressed by the old tavern feel and the atmosphere. Our waitress was not only extremely knowledgeable about the menu, but also incredibly friendly, attentive, and accommodating. We were also fortunate enough to be greeted by the owner, David, who took the time to tell us about his vision, his process, and how his dream came to life at this establishment. I told him how much I admired his passion--it was so evident that he truly loves what he does. And the food... EXCELLENT! The wings were fantastic, and the burnt string beans were absolutely delicious. The kids finished the meal with the cookie pie à la mode, which was a huge hit! Everything was so good, from the food to the service to the atmosphere. You can really feel the pride and passion that went into creating this place. I highly recommend The 1762 and will definitely be back the next time I'm in the area!

Submitted for your approval... Imagine, if you will, a…read moresudden, inexplicable craving for two all-beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, and onions on a sesame seed bun. Your mind immediately wanders to McDonald's. But then reality intervenes. Do you really want two beef patties with the thickness and structural integrity of wet newspaper? Of course not. And that, dear reader, is when you find yourself crossing an invisible threshold into a place where ordinary appetites encounter extraordinary proportions. A place known simply as The Gettysburger Company. Our story begins in historic Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, just off the roundabout. The entrance, tucked along the side toward the rear, has the curious discretion of a Prohibition-era speakeasy. Inside awaits an atmosphere somewhere between a classic American diner and a rustic lodge, with seating in the front, back, and an outdoor courtyard. Our traveler read a familiar arrangement of ingredients bearing an uncanny resemblance to that famous burger beneath the Golden Arches. Except this particular specimen exists in another dimension entirely. When he placed the order, the friendly waiter asked not once, but twice, whether he was absolutely certain. "Hell yeah!" He declared, blissfully unaware of the enormity of his decision. And then came the waiting. Minutes passed. Doubt crept in. Had he made a terrible mistake? Had his appetite written a check his stomach couldn't cash? Suddenly, the waiter returned. But something was different. He required BOTH HANDS to lower the meal onto the table. There it stood. A towering monument to bovine magnificence. An architectural impossibility held together by a single wooden skewer, crowned with a pickle like some peculiar monument to mankind's culinary ambition. Our traveler's eyes widened. His mouth watered. Somewhere, the laws of physics quietly resigned. He attempted to pick it up like an ordinary hamburger. A foolish assumption. This was no ordinary hamburger. A knife became necessary to bisect the beast. And then came the first bite. The flavor is a hundredfold better, and the beef patties possess the thickness of regulation hockey pucks. Beautifully grilled to medium, the beef was juicy, deeply flavorful, and unmistakably authentic. Every ingredient played its part in perfect harmony. Nothing overwhelmed. Nothing disappointed. A burger of astonishing proportions that somehow delivered equally astonishing flavor. It was a WOW moment. The fries, meanwhile, were another curious phenomenon. Thick, twisted creations, crispy on the outside, tender within, and seasoned with just enough precision to make one question why ordinary French fries continue to exist. The Gettysburger Company offers an assortment of burgers, from familiar classics to creations that seem to challenge the very boundaries of human appetite. And should you somehow survive the main course with room to spare, the dessert menu promises yet another journey beyond the limits of conventional reality. And so we leave our hungry traveler, forever changed by an encounter with a sandwich of impossible dimensions. A man who entered seeking an ordinary burger and discovered that somewhere between appetite and excess lies culinary perfection. A place where patties are thick, expectations are shattered, and the only thing more extraordinary than the burger is the realization that you actually finished it. You've just crossed over into... the Twilight Zone. You've been warned.

I had the smokehouse burger. I ordered it medium rare and it was served exactly how I ordered it. It was pink, moist, juicy and not over cooked. The burger was not a frozen or preformed patty. I could see the patty was hand formed. We were sat immediately at a table not far from the kitchen. Each of the dozen or so tables comfortably sits four people each. Our server was friendly, cheerful and attentive. There is a bar in the main dining area serving liquor and beer. In the back of the bar is a pool table and an outdoor patio also with a bar and several tables, offering a great way to eat and relax outside. There are two bathrooms, one inside the restaurant and the other is outside by the patio. The one by the patio is a little cleaner and better maintained. Burger prices are a little on the high side, averaging between $17.00. However, you are getting a superior burger. Street parking can be a bit of a challenge due to the restaurant being located in downtown Gettysburg. Parking is free on Saturdays and Sundays until 1 PM. This is a nice local pub to meet up with friends and family for a casual eating experience I recommend giving this joint a try. The qualitu of the burgers alone make it worth while.
