This morning it was cold, snowing and chilly, so I felt for McDonald's kind of morning. I ordered through DoorDash, sorry can't drive yet, so I get my feedback about outside and inside of the restaurant from the drivers. Let's start with food, I ordered steak egg and cheese bagel meal, BOGO sausage egg McMuffin and extra hashbrown. Bagel meal was great except coffee was blah!, no cream or sugar was given or put in it. So 4 star! BOGO sausage egg McMuffin was good, so 5 star! I didn't get the extra hashbrown but they gave me a sausage McGriddle which I don't care for at all. I will admit I didn't place my order at 10:40a, even at that I would've taken a small fry. Ordinarily I believe in getting what I'm paying for and if it's unavailable, plz refund it bk. So my dasher was so nice and he even handed me my pkg outside. This location says open 24 hours, but it's always hit or miss. Never any ice cream, specialty foods or specialty coffees available, especially at night. (The equipment is always down, or they just don't want to use and re-clean them). Tried to get some fries late Saturday night and one order was taken in the drive thru before us. As the line accumulated no one ever came back to take our order, or anyone else's, so we left after 20 mins waiting. It seemed like maybe only one person was working, or employees just hang out inside and ignore the drive thru after hours. No message or anything said about being short staffed or waiting, just left us all sitting wondering if they were even open. I've lived in the area for a long time and this location is very convenient for me. I can imagine the rush hours for people working downtown on this street as well. It would be nice if McDonalds would address this or sell the location to any other business that is run better. It probably costs more for them to keep it open at this point because they can't be selling as much food as ANY other locations. read more

Took five mins for them to even take my order at noon - with little other traffic. Took three customers' orders from the outside lane before mine. Left the house on a moderately beautiful day, sun is shining, medium clouds in the sky with very rare lone snowflakes gracing my face. I NEEDED McDonald's, I pull up and what do a see? A new crispy chicken sandwich, I roll my eyes and think "great, they have something new and I need to try it so that I can never get it again". After the cashier says with a smile "welcome to McDonald's what can I get for you?" I place my order in a solemn tone and pull up with my debit card ready. Next window I secure the bag. It came in a kfc-esque chicken sandwich bag and I thought "way to go McDonald's copying your competitors like always" I reach my had inside and the tips of my fingers are met with the softest buns I have ever felt. I pull it out of the bag quickly with enthusiasm and all of a sudden face to face with the most beautiful thing I have witnessed since my own birth. No time to take a picture, the smell was intoxicating. The spicy sauce had a certain zap to it that I had been looking for from fast food for years. The chicken was juicy but not very crispy however the crunch I felt from the calming pickles was more than enough to make up for this. The bun I swear was made of a cloud plucked from the heavens. Maybe it was my hangry, downtrodden nature beforehand that made this such a wonderful experience, but I want to believe that this was truly the best fast food sandwich I have ever had and true to my nature, I will not be getting it again because I would never want to step on that magical moment. read more

Get in and the line was out the door and when it finally was my turn to order, the guy disappeared because the two people working in the back were not enough to keep up with the rush. If you're looking for a harrowing dive into a wasteland of angry employees and terrible service with poorly made and bacteria laden food, this is your Valhalla. This McDonald's is definitely the worst in all of Detroit, most likely in all of Michigan and quite possibly the worst in the country. In 32 years as a McDonald's loving human I have never experienced worse. The ever rotating staff is consistently comprised of one person trying so hard to do things right that they're forced to yell at the new employees that don't know what they're doing and the lazy ones that just don't care. It says it is open 24 hours but don't let the lights, the drive-thru open sign, or google fool you. It is routinely closed from 3-6am because they late night staff doesn't feel like working. This has to be a franchised McDonald's because its owner must be a putrid pile of stinking flesh to allow this place to continue to operate as a little shop of horrors. Get anything on the menu and drive to different McDonalds and you'll taste an insanely different tasting item. Pro-tip if you're stuck in the food desert of East Jefferson late-night: Don't get mad at the newbies, they were just trying to get a job and this place is always hiring. I was in the drive-thru during the lunch rush. My order was taken at the speaker. No one was at Window 1 to take payment. When I get the Window 2, I give the employee the money for my meal. He then hands me a bag of food. He says, "You haven't paid yet?" I reply, no. I give him the bag back, because it was not what I ordered. He tells me that I "have to go back around" to place my order, after I've waited almost 15 minutes to get to the window. Never again! read more

It's a McDonald's so high praise is not really expected. I went here since it was closer to my friend's apartment than my normal Detroit McDonald's (Woodward and Canfield). The food was fine. The wait was fine. The water flies swarming about the place made me wonder if locusts had descended upon Detroit for its day of reckoning. The drive thru experience was absolutely smothered in a ridiculously disgusting amount of insects on the exterior of the building. Please by any means stay away from this location. I came here a few days ago about 7:30am and was told drive through only. Funny cause sign says from 7 AM til 8pm. Ok even though I hate eating from places I haven't been in I needed coffee fast. Pull to the speaker and was greeted by"go ahead." So I said large coffee 3creams and sugar on the side. She says "pull ahead." No hello or does this complete your order. So I pull up to pay at the 1st window and the cashier didn't repeat my order but I think it was because she was busy laughing and joking with her coworkers which is why I was given the incorrect change from my $5.05 I should've received $4.00 change but instead I was looked at like I did something wrong. After she rectified the situation I pull ahead to get my coffee and was told they were all out of creams so they added it already. Are you kidding me? Then hands me two cups. 1 with my coffee with disgusting non dairy cream already added and the second 1 which I assumed was a complimentary cup of coffee was a half a cup of sugar that was wet,clumpy and brown. Do I have to say this was a bad morning? So after a long day of no coffee I had a great ending. So I decided to stop by after work to see if the night manager would at least show some compassion and at the least apologize for what I had experienced. I pull in and the lot has 2 cars and the lobby was pretty much empty. I walked in and I promise you I thought I walked into a middle school locker room from the smell. The staff at this McDonalds are morons. Ive been here several times hoping for better service each time, and they always get the order wrong. Ive expressed my disappointment about the bad service, but there has been no change. I dont eat meat, and they consistently put meat on my breakfast sandwiches everytime I request "NO MEAT". The last time I ordered an egg white delight with NO meat, and they didnt put the egg white on the sandwich, and put 2 pieces of meat on the sandwich instead. This McDs is the worst. I've been to a lot of McDonald's in Detroit and I always think "this is the worst one." Well folks, this one really is the worst one. No matter what time of day it is, no matter how many people are in line, no matter how many people are working, your food will take forever. I could handle slow if my order was correct, but you're not getting that, either. The employees are lazy and entitled on top of being incompetent, and this includes managers. They're more interested in socializing than working, and solve problems by screaming at each other. Once witnessed a manager screaming at a customer because he was being "disrespectful."
