Not only did the employee make me wait through four completed drive thru transactions, but they didn't have a clue about what the Crown rewards program was or how you redeem them. They called a manager over and it was the same thing...not a clue! The manager finally told me she didn't have time to deal with me and just gave me a drink for free. Well, I suppose that was nice but I wasn't looking for a free handout and the attitude was uncalled for. Burger King corporate needs to know about this location and its incompetent employees. I came across the reviews of Guzman y Gomez on Yelp, and it sounded great, and we decided to try it. When I looked it up, I found out that if I ordered through the app we could start earning rewards, so we did this, and went inside to pick up the order and eat. Everything was ready and waiting in a large bag for us to pick up. We grabbed it at the pick up window, and went into the dining area to sit and eat. I ordered two tacos, and my husband got a burrito. With the tacos, I chose ground beef, and chose mild on the seasoning. They were very good, although I think next time I'll try spicy and see if I like that even better. But what set them apart was that the taco shells themselves had some taco seasoning on them that was delicious. The tacos also just had the basics, which is how I like them - meat, cheese, and salsa. And two were plenty for me, very substantial. My husband tried the ground beef burrito, which was huge. He could only eat half, and took the other half to eat later. He said he enjoyed it a lot. We were looking forward to going back, but I read just now that all the Chicago locations have closed as of today. That's a shame, because we really liked it a lot.

They have a lot of protein you can choose from like grilled chicken, sirloin, steak, Carnitas, shredded beef, brisket, seasoned ground beef, or sautéed vegetables with guacamole. The burritos is on the smaller side, but it packs a punch full of flavor. From the fries to the salsa to the fresh pico. Highly recommended the Cali burrito. They also have this salsas, cilantro, and jalapeño and spicy pickled carrots station where you can help yourself . They also serve liquor here . The decor inside definitely has the Spanish theme. From the art on the wall to the vines hanging down from the ceiling . The service is great. I love how they have the open kitchen where you can see them cook.

My coworkers here…read moresaid if I liked this, they've had better, but Portillo's set the bar high enough that I doubt it. Something about being in Chicago and taking hot dogs this seriously just hits different. I went three times to work through the menu properly. The jumbo hot dog might be the best hot dog I've ever had. Everything came together: the sport peppers, the snap of the dog itself, and a poppy seed bun I'd never had on a hot dog before. It just worked. The chili dog was a letdown by comparison. The hot dog itself tasted flat and boring under the chili, which is a shame after how good the jumbo was. The cheeseburger is underrated. Good char, really tasty, and the Comeback sauce pulled it all together. I got the fries too, which were pretty good dipped in the Comeback sauce, though nothing to really write home about. Shakes were a mixed bag. The chocolate shake was excellent. I actually meant to order a regular Dr Pepper shake, but ended up with the Dr Pepper cake shake by mistake. Too many flavors and textures fighting each other in one cup, not for me. Heads up if you order shakes here: the large size is genuinely large. Still, this is my go-to spot in Chicago now. If you're visiting, you can't go wrong.

The photos from the 1960s, showing the owners then and now, give the place a deep sense of tradition and pride in building something from the ground up. The memorabilia throughout the restaurant is fantastic, and there is plenty of space if you are coming in with a large group. The food lives up to the reputation. The Chicago dog is fantastic and fully authentic, loaded with the right peppers, onion, and pickle. The only minor bump was that we ordered to dine in, but the order came out in to-go packaging. Wrapped up like that, the steam got to the bun and softened it a bit more than if it had been served open on a tray, which took a little away from the texture. Even with that, it was still a very good dog. For the side, ordering the fries well-done on the self-service kiosk is a huge plus. They came out crisp and tasty, though in the fast-casual fry hierarchy, Culver's still holds the crown. Overall, it is a great spot with rich local heritage, generous seating, and solid staple items. I will definitely be back.

But, the owner's out, and we decided to check out the $3 value sandwich (thinking of our kiddos' lunch budget), to see whether it's a good value or not. So here's the deal. The sandwich is 6.5 inches and made on skinnier bread, but it's still just the right size for a light bite. I ordered the Italian (#5), and the bread was incredibly fresh, it was packed with lettuce, and had a decent amount of meat on it. If you're hungry, I recommend throwing in a bag of chips. For $3, it's a good value. Now, they do have a taller, much skinnier version of the Italian sandwich for $3.99. It's made fresh every hour and prepackaged for quick take-it-to-go! That's something I might consider for my kiddos' lunches. They have pretty hearty appetites, but I think this is a good alternative...I mean who needs to have a giant meal at lunch? Totally worth the value, IMO. Side note: I don't know who Sharon is, per Lisa D's review, but the person that waited on us seemed to be the manager and was incredibly friendly and helpful.

How many victims has Tina Beinlich filed false police reports on? More people need to come forward and continue to expose this dangerous and racist former McDonald's Manager. These are felonies if not outright misdemeanors Tine Beinlich is committing! Forget about having your face pressed down on a cold dirty sidewalk, forget about the chokeholds, forget about having a gun drawn on you, etc. Tina Beinlich is worthy of a taste of her own medicine. She is truly dangerous, reckless and uncaring to the people she works with and the community and McDonalds customers themselves. McDonalds, should have fired her years earlier and distanced themselves from her previously, especially as they knew she was also endangering the law enforcement officers and wasting thousands public resources! One squad car was involved in an accident as a result of her fake 911 calls. She should make restitution for the harm she caused to so many. Tina Beinlich needs to be charged. She is a terrorist and she has victimized too many. Making false police reports is criminal. She now jeopardizes her own well being with being exposed and her accumulating enemies. What does toxic Tina Beinlich expect? We all have a part to play in making a more just and safer world. Please everyone who was victimized by this awful person please contact the Illinois Attorney General and pertinent police departments. Tina Beinlich 2417 W. Wright Road Mchenry, IL 60050 read more
