I've walked and driven past it many times but had somehow never made it inside. Since Denim was also participating in the 2026 Cumberland Valley Coffee & Chocolate Trail, it felt like the perfect excuse to check it out and grab a quick late-afternoon pick-me-up. I walked in around 4pm and found a handful of people inside -- some chatting quietly, others working on laptops. The space was clean, calm, and welcoming, with soft music playing overhead. The woman at the counter was an absolute sunbeam on an otherwise dreary afternoon, greeting me warmly and happily taking my order. I went with an iced coffee with sugar-free vanilla syrup (extra sweet, please!) and oat milk. Total came to $5.25. While she prepared my drink, I took a moment to look around and realized what a great view Denim offers from their bar seating area. Full glass windows with stools looking out over the square in Carlisle make it a fantastic people-watching spot. That afternoon, the Farmers Market was set up across the square, and it was fun watching people dash between stands while dodging raindrops to grab their weekly goodies. It struck me as a perfect place to meet a friend, spend a few hours working on a laptop, or just decompress with a coffee and watch the world go by. Denim also had a small sweet treat case with snacks that would pair nicely with coffee. I stuck with just the drink this time, but everything looked tempting enough that I'd definitely consider adding a pastry next visit. A few minutes later my name was called and my drink was waiting at the end of the counter. One interesting touch: they placed the container of oat milk beside my coffee so I could add exactly as much as I wanted. It's a small detail, but not something you see at many coffee shops, and I appreciated the flexibility. The iced coffee itself was excellent. Unlike some places where iced coffee tastes like watered-down brown liquid, Denim's actually tasted like coffee -- strong, smooth, and delivering a solid caffeine boost. Overall: great service, really good coffee, reasonable prices, and a cozy spot right in the heart of town. The only real challenge is parking since it's so close to the square. Street parking is available nearby, but depending on the time of day you may need to circle a bit. All in all, a great little coffee stop and I'm glad I finally walked through the door.

So when Destiny Dairy Bar showed up on my feed talking about "come snuggle piglets for $25!" there was no internal debate. No hesitation. No weighing the pros and cons. I immediately booked a Piglet Snuggle Session. Honestly...I don't think I've ever typed my credit card number faster. Booking online was incredibly easy, and from the moment I reserved my spot, Destiny Dairy Bar knocked the customer service out of the park. They sent multiple emails leading up to my appointment explaining exactly what to expect, reminding me about my reservation and providing the required waiver ahead of time so there weren't any surprises when I arrived. Five stars before I even touched a pig! I arrived about 15 minutes early and checked in at the farm store. The staff couldn't have been friendlier. They encouraged me to wander around the property until my session started, which turned out to be a great suggestion. There were goats. Cows. Adult pigs. A donkey named Pamela. And plenty of opportunities to wander around smiling at animals living their best lives. When it was time for my session, everything started right on schedule. My farm guide explained how to safely hold the piglets and then basically said..."Have fun!" Don't mind if I do! The best part? I wasn't rushed at all! I had the opportunity to hold any of the piglets I wanted but settled in with the tiniest little guy of the bunch. Three and a half pounds. Curled up in my arms. Completely asleep. For most of the twenty-minute session. I don't know if he chose me...or if I chose him...but we were best friends by the end. The staff member even offered to take photos for me, which I appreciated so much since I was visiting on my own. Instead of trying to awkwardly balance a piglet while taking selfies, I was able to simply enjoy the experience and leave with wonderful memories! PRO TIP: Arrive a little early so you have time to explore the rest of the property. The piglets may be the headline attraction, but they're definitely not the only adorable residents you'll meet. At $25 per group (up to four people), I honestly think this is one of the best values for a unique experience you'll find anywhere. Whether you're bringing kids, your partner or just embracing your inner animal lover like I did, it's twenty minutes of pure joy! Now...I do have one confession. After I got home...I may or may not have Googled plans for building a piglet house. I'm not saying I'm getting a pet pig. I'm just saying...the research has begun. Until then, I'll happily keep coming back to Destiny Dairy Bar whenever I need a piglet fix!

Before heading back to Baltimore after our most recent family visit I realized I had yet to visit Denim Coffee at the Quarry. I decided it was time to remedy that. My wife, two kids, dog and I parked along the street about a block away and walked to Denim Coffee at the Quarry. The street is beautiful, with a decent amount of trees. When we arrived at the Quarry my wife, kids and dog hung out on the large porch outside of the shop while I went in to order. Inside, this version of Denim offers a variety of seating areas and types. There was a brick wall that had comfy couch type seating beside it. Then there were regular tables and chairs. I believe there was a bar running along the window with some bar seats. To the left of the entrance there is a stairway with a landing that has some additional seating on it. At the top of the stairs is a large room that is meant to be reserved. I didn't go too far into it because it seemed to be occupied. After the brief, self guided tour, I went and ordered a Nitro Cold Brew with Oat Milk for myself and a mocha with oat milk for my wife. It's the same great coffee at an unbelievable price point that can be found at all Denim locations. This location was a lot quieter (only four people were in there when I went in and they were all super spread out) than the other Carlisle or Harrisburg location. Makes sense since it is the summer and a lot of college students have left campus. I'd be interested to return during the school year to see what their Sundays are like then. If you find yourself at Dickinson and are looking for incredible coffee at a great price, definitely check out Denim.
