best mcdonald's we have had in soooooooo long. definitely don't skip out if you are coming to town

As a local of the town, the food used to be good and the service, but nowadays it is very bad, I'm surprised this place is still here. Trust me, I have a story, so one day I got my usual stuff, a 10 PC mcnugget, fries and a drink. You may ask, How can you mess up chicken nuggets? well the answer to that is I don't know but This place somehow burned the nuggets, I took a bite and ate it, did not like it and for some strange reason, I was on the toilet for a hot minute, I used to like the place but i want it gone. read more

July 1, 2023: Stopped here to get Flurries and access the wifi on our phone to check on directions, as we weren't getting a connection to even use Mobile Data. and knew our destination was somewhere nearby, just off NYS 23 The place was clean. The staff friendly. It was obvious that the restrooms had recently been checked and the floors mopped -- this was about 1:30 in the afternoon. One of our two flurries was a bit slow getting made and to us, and so one of the employees came back with a third one "on the house" because of the delay. I also noticed that while there was a lull, the employees were making sure things looked clean and picked up rather than just standing behind the counter, talking while waiting for customers. Horrible service. The drive thru took forever we ordered a 3 meals and two McGriddle sandwiches and two big breakfast with hc they pulled us up ok no problem. We're waiting and waiting my fiancé finally went inside and they said they ran out of hc. But when we ordered they had them so as we were sitting they sold the hotcakes to other people that ordered after us. So he goes gets our food they gave us nothing to replace the big breakfast. So we pulled away realized that had to go back and the lady tried to say she fixed it . Thats was $14 they tried to get away with . Beyond ridiculous!!!! Looks nice, but not really a good stop. Always SLOW service. Restrooms need to be cleaned and maintained. Prices are higher than others. Be aware- right now there is a huge pot hole near the exit!!! read more

McDonald's - The drive through. - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Cairo, New York

This is the Golden Arches that many people stop at on their way to and from upstate New York. They have a play place with a ball pit that I'm sure is infested with cooties. The food is pretty consistent with all the others across the state. Except, they don't always offer the same menu items, like the limited time Spicy McChicken. yum. They didn't have that here when it was available elsewhere. They might not honor your coupons BECAUSE it is a franchise, aren't most? The lot is big enough that parking is never a problem. There is seating available in the play place area and in the service area. Both are pretty loud to be in when there are more than 3 customers in the establishment, which is also typical of a Mickey D's. There are bathrooms in the play place (family) and in the service area. so if you're cruising up or down state and have a jonesing for two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, & onions on a sesame bun, you will not be disappointed if you stop here. McDonald's - the front of the restaurant - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Cairo, New York

I bet this McDonalds could sell shamrock shakes all year round given its proximity to East Durham, NY (if you've never been there, you should at least drive through it, it's a little Ireland). And based on the brogue from some of the older customers here, I bet they get quite a few customers from East Durham too. This restaurant probably gets most of its business because it is the only eating establishment you can see from NY 23, plus it's at a "major" intersection (i.e., NY 23 and NY 32). However, if you were to take NY 32 or any of the side roads into Cairo, you would find several other dining establishments, both fast food and other. The restaurant itself is quite busy, especially at lunch time, and the staff was quite friendly though clearly overworked. Unfortunately, an enthusiastic staff is not enough sometimes to overcome challenges. I came in specifically to try the new chicken clubhouse sandwich. It wasn't that tasty, and it fell apart as I ate it. The fountain dispenser didn't have iced tea either. It's also a bit run down. Many of the booths have ripped or torn upholstery. Since it was crowded, there were few empty tables, but a table for 6 was unavailable because it had the store's bookkeeping there, abandoned by some employee. Hit or miss; sometimes you go in, order, and then patiently wait. Other times there are long lines, idiots ordering (or busy on their mobile phones, the new crack) because they cannot make up their mind, or the worst, rotten children screaming, whining, carrying on because of rotten parents. Filling orders sometimes takes forever; I understand there are times where it is super busy, but sometimes I go when it is quiet and it will take too long to get my order. And when it is slow, I usually get cold French fries , AND I HATE THAT. I hate food waste (who doesn't), but when you foist cold, limp French fries on me, I AM NOT HAPPY. I don't complain (normally I don't), I won't go to the manager and give them a piece of my mind (usually I don't, other places I will), so I usually stop going for a while. McDonald's is the only FF place in town, and when ski season starts, ugh, it gets busy with the tri-state trash going or coming from Windham. You can tell by the packed parking lot and the long line for the drive-in. And they are not cheap; ordering for myself alone can be over $10+! So I definitely depend on their mobile app to save money. What I spend on myself today my parents would spend on our family, AND THERE WERE SEVEN OF US! So, I put up with mediocrity because I am too lazy at times, and sometimes I will get what I ordered, everything is done quickly, I sit down and watch the traffic while eating, while no children are playing, running around or no children period. Horrible place. Staff is lazy and refuses to reopen their dining room. You can't even order takeout in the lobby and their drive thru line is always out to the road with one of their order kiosks blocked off by traffic cones. Will never waste my time or money here again! read more

Drive through is always the slowest service. Always waiting for your order. Very unorganized. Go to Catskill McDonald's instead. Quick drive through service and they always have your order ready with no mistakes. read more

Quite possibly the worst McDonald's I've ever been to. Employees are nice enough but the management of this place is all kinds of messed up. For example: Snow pile still hasn't been removed from the curbside pickup over a month after the storm. That's a clue about management. read more

My mother just got breakfast for us and my son who's just turning 2. She asked for extra bacon that was soft, so the baby can chew it. She also ordered sandwiches for us. When can came in the house and started unpacking the bag. The pancakes and bacon didnt come with the hashbrown or biscuit she asked for it to come with, which I believe does anyways. The bacon was so hard it looked old. You could see white specks on it. The eggs looked awful. The sandwiches were horrendous. They would so sloppy and thrown together, it literally looked as if a blind monkey slapped it together and just partially crushed it in their hands. I called, the girl who answered sounded like shes 12. She just kept pushing it off saying she will talk to them. Shes sorry. But what she doesnt realize, is all the time wasted to go back to get her money back because at that point who would want to eat that from this place. This has literally been over an hr ordeal because the monkeys aren't trained right. I did tell her not to go there from now on. My family always will travel to the next town over to get from their McDonald's. Its much better then the Cairo one. Advice on this place! I have been to this McDonald''s in Cairo several times. I will never go back to this dump again. Last time they shorted me a hamburger. This time they shorted me french fries, gave me a water and said it was a Sprite, had no milk shakes or frosties. The kids were thirsty and they don't drink soda. I am glad I had bottled water in the vehicle. We must of waited on the drive up for at least a half an hours and than when we pulled up to the window to get our order they had us pull forward and wait another 15 minutes. My family and I have been going to this Mcd's for about three years now, literally twice every weekend as we pass by it on the way to our farm in which we visit weekly. Despite the basic gripes we normally have with young and new employees, ultimately it was a refreshing break in a three hour drive. Due to the current situation we have attempted curbside pickup for the past year. Given the tech has and its growing pains at times which causes an inside visit requirement. When this has happened, we never have had an issue. Just last week on our return trip home, we stopped by and the something happened with the curbside mobile app to where we were required to go in. The young individual behind the register, whom I do not recall seeing in the past, told my wife she will not take her order without a mask on. They also said it with distain like they are above us and get to telll us what we can and can not do. No problem and we left. My wife and I are furious at this establishment as we have had nothing but good times when we visit. We go inside numerous times during this past year and not once was approached or asked about the current situation. First off, I was unaware that your register employees held the right to decide whom they serve or not and what is the standards for these decisions. Either way, and it truly is unfortunate, McD's is now involved with the political banter that has been going on and the fact that a young individual feels empowered to decide whom eats and does not eat truly upset myself and my wife. With that said, I respect if one chooses to wear a mask or not, that is on you. But due to this blatant power trip this young individual had, McD's will never see another penny of me and my family's money. It is a shame that it has come to this, but some of us are fed up and people need to get off their soap box and businesses need to train their employees properly on how to handle these situations when they come up. Funny I can sit in McD's and eat without one, but can not order. Again, McD's loss as we have already found a Burger King that is only 5 minutes out of our way and the king does not have a problem when we come in. I wish all well and please do what you feel you should. But this McD's and every other one on the planet, will not be visited by my family nor will we ever spend another dollar of our hard earned money their again. This is the messiest, most poorly-run McDonald's location I've ever visited. Since it is the only fast-food restaurant in a 15 mile radius, and the first eatery you'll encounter once you'd gotten off the Thruway, famished, some 15 miles ago, you might feel compelled to settle for this slop house if you don't want to pass out from hunger whilst driving. After eating here, however, you may wind up feeling that the alternative was a safer bet after all. This place is cramped and messy, despite a recent "upgrade". The seating area is tiny, considering that on the weekends, the place can get packed with hungry motorists who have nowhere else to go. The indoor children's play area is larger in size than the entire dining area. The tables are routinely caked with dried food, while napkins, wrappers and other debris regularly litter the floor. And if you pull in here to use their Wi-Fi - forget it. It hasn't worked properly in years. Their counterstaff is a perfect fit to this disorganized dining fiasco: Not one of them know anything about current promotions; they often charge incorrectly; and they are as just as rude as they are dumb. Example: Three sharp employees from this very McDonald's location had the bright idea to stage an inside-job holdup, believing they were the first ever to mastermind such a foolproof scheme! This McDonald's is not as good as it could be, but it is better then it has been in the past couple years. My family and I usually stop here when we take trips downstate. A couple years ago, I remember they would screw up our order every single time, and when you would have them correct it, they would still mess it up. But now a days, it seems like they have replaced their employees with people that actually know what they are doing. This McDonald's could surely use an update though. The inside looks like it has not changed since either the 90s or early 2000's, and the graphic in the drive through that shows you what you have ordered still displays Chicken Selects (which have not been on the menu for quite some time now). read more

Really rude service tonight, like I mean, we were told there were apple pies, and it was added to our order... pull up to pay and this snobby girl reads off my order and I ask also the apple pies right? And she responds in the most snobby voice ever 'well we don't have any it's not on your order' (when we placed our order our total was $20.90 when we pulled to pay we had this interaction and she said $17 and change....) I get it if someone told me wrong but if I'm asking because I'm confused you don't need to be rude to me and so snobby. I've worked jobs like that, yes it gets stressful and yes you get cranky, but if a customer is nothing but polite, there is NO REASON to be completely rude and snobby to them. I treat everyone there with respect ALWAYS because I know it gets crazy on a Friday night at 6:30. This is the second time on a weekend that this has happened & is why I'm posting this review.
