Some of the worst customer service you could ever imagine. Maybe she had a bad day or maybe she has a permanent sour demeanor. Nothing but a sassy expression from the cashier who proceeded to TOUCH my ice cream without gloves, had to wipe the cup with a napkin because she couldn't get the ice cream IN the cup. It is the bare minimum to ask that your employees can pour frickin ice cream without touching it with their ungloved hands and dear gosh wear gloves when handling ALL food. I don't expect great service at McDonald's, but with a corporation this big, I DO expect safe service. Every employee but one had his or her mask down below the nose. Restrooms only had blower dryers, great for blowing the virus around... so not a COVID-safe establishment. Service was unfriendly, uncommunicative, unhelpful (asked if there was cream in the tea, she said yes, didn't bother to ask if we wanted it in the coffee, got to car, no cream in the coffee). This is a super busy location. It's located in Breezewood where a lot of truckers come through. So it's a busy "town". There always seems to be traffic. As for McDonald's... it is always super slow! No matter what time you come here, they never seem to have enough employees to cover the customers. So don't be in a hurry and stop here. ALWAYS check your order before you leave! Especially if you are using the Drive-Thru. Chance of your order being wrong or missing something is pretty good. You have been warned! If you go inside, it is not the cleanest McDonalds in PA. Not sure why this location has a bad rating. It was literally the best McD's my wife and I have ever had in our lives. We were on our way to a funeral and live 4 hours away so this was a random pit stop. It wasn't busy so we had to wait a little for our food but that just meant everything was fresh. It blew every other McDonalds we've ever had out of the park. We got a quarter pounder with cheese, double cheeseburger and fries. Slower than most McD's I've been to. I think it's cuz they cook to order, so don't 'expect "fast food". Your strategy is to come in, order, then go to the bathroom, then find a seat, and then pick up your food...it will be ready then. Normally I would neither check-in nor review a McDonald's because normally I do not go to McDonald's. However, I felt the need to check-in so that I could write up a review when I had time. I was driving from Ohio to Harpers Ferry, West Virginia and needed to stop here to use the restroom. I also decided to treat my boys an ice cream sundae since they were being so good on the long drive. My boys enjoyed their sundaes, but I suppose they haven't refined their palates yet. One of the worst McDonald's I have ever patronized. I try to avoid such establishments, but it's unavoidable on long road trips. On my most recent trip through Breezewood, I stopped here and was treated to a soapy frozen coffee (frappe). How did soap get into the coffee? I mean, I guess it's a good thing that they're cleaning the coffee maker, but it made the beverage undrinkable. Management needs to get the soap out of the coffee and into the bathroom. Came in at 5:05 am for breakfast. First order of the day for this restaurant. Stood around talking for a couple minutes before anyone seemed to care if we were there. Staff was busy emptying garbage cans so they say stinky and full all night. Friendly at the counter but $2.75 each for happy meal toys? I've never paid more than $1 but they just ring you up and pretend like everything is okay. Hash browns were ready first so the manager just put them on the tray to get cold while the food was being made. Breakfast burrito looks different than I've ever seen one. I asked for the food for 12 minutes before I asked for what was on the tray. (Everything minus one sandwich) then I was brought the final sandwich 3 minutes later. Total time: 15 minutes. Restaurant was almost empty at 6 PM the Sunday before thanksgiving. Got quick service, hot fresh food, amazingly deliciously salty fries, and the bathroom was clean. No complaints at all! I give it five stars because I found it to be better than my McDs at home! Rating it against other McDs, its definitely five stars. I could see it being very crowded and service slowing down later in the week as travel picks up, but I would be surprised if every single stop in Breezewood did not suffer a similar slow down with increased traffic. read more

A few years ago, this was the best McDonalds I had ever been to. Not anymore. A few days before Christmas I stopped here for lunch. I ordered at the self order kiosk and found that the quarter pounder combo meal was no longer offered with medium fries and drink, now it is only offered with large fries and drink. So I paid the extra amount for food I would be throwing in the trash. Even though there was no one else waiting for food, it took over 15 minutes for my order to come up and the meal was barely warm. Not sure about the bad reviews for this location, but perhaps there has been a recent remodel and therefore some major improvements? The entire place looks brand new - super clean - and now has the self-order stations. I had never used them before but thought I'd give it a try. 3 meals were easy to order and pay for, then grab cups for our drinks then they bring the food to your table when your order is ready. Took no more than 5 minutes total on a Friday at 5:30pm. I'm not a huge fan of McDonalds, but this one is one of the best I've been to. French fries were hot, burger clearly had not been sitting under a heat lamp for an hour - can't ask for more in my opinion. read more

My wife and I call this place to slowest McDonald's of all time. We've been stopping here at least a couple times every year for the last six years. Yesterday I counted six people working, zero other customers inside and we still waited ten minutes for a fish sandwich, chicken nuggets and a McDouble. It's extra funny, because all they had to do to deliver the nuggets was pull open a drawer and put them in a box. The fish for the fish sandwich also came out of a drawer. Anyway, I guess the manager was busy making herself an ice cream cone and the rest of the crew needed a rest or something. It was the day after Christmas-a high travel day-right off the turnpike, and this place was getting crushed. I almost turned away because of how crowded the lot was. However-they were staffed to handle it and were killing it! I got my order i within 2-3 minutes, the staff was friendly, and I got a correct order for 4 kids and two adults in about 5-7 minutes (severs cheeseburgers, special order quarter pounder, 20 nuggets and several baskets of fries. It was late evening and we needed a quick pit stop on 2-18-18, and this location was the best choice. They were busy and very under staffed, but the service was fast and food tasted great. Yes, my one star does take into account that this is a McDonald's... but it is a poorly staffed and/or managed one. Overflowing disgusting garbage cans when we entered. We did use the new ordering kiosk which worked well. But then the self-serve station was out of napkins (both big dispensers), and ketchup (both big dispensers). When the kid brought the food I asked about napkins and ketchup and he spun around without responding and walked away. So I went to the counter and asked for both (as did another woman). He roughly handed us some napkins and gestured to a container saying there were ketchup packets in there. There were 5. I was with my family of 4. The lady was with her husband. This gave us less than one packet per person. Then I hit the restroom. Yes, newly remodeled. But gross. No toilet seat covers so every seat was "sprayed." Many toilets not flushed. Doubtful anyone had cleaned in there since the night before. And this is the Breezewood location... so LOTS of traffic. Oh, the food. Not sure this is all McD's or this one. Lots of short overcooked fries. Salt on my burger made it almost inedible. Bun on my daughter's grilled chicken was inedible. Look -- I get it, it was McDonalds. I had low expectations. But whoever owns or manages this McDonalds needs to hire some staff to clean and restock (and if delivering food not be surly). And Mdonalds in general needs to get some quality control back on their food. read more
