Stopped here twice on route to attend a family wedding in Ohio and then return home to Maryland. Signage from road was poor given all the signs for gas stations and fast food restaurants, if not for the GPS telling us where to turn. You can see the restaurant as it's on the top of a hill overlooking the commercial zone of Breezewood and entrance to Turnpike heading east. Trip to Ohio was dinner hour - pot roast came with potatoes and green beans; chopped steak with potatoes and vegetables and a turkey sandwich with all the condiments, lettuce, tomato, onion and mayo. All tasted good at the dinner hour after 4 hrs of driving, but a little too salty. Came with a side of banana bread in our case. Service was prompt and attentive. Trip to Maryland was dinner hour as well - breakfast for my wife with two sunny side eggs, hash browns and the famous Bob Evans breakfast sausage links; turkey sandwich again (but for a different traveler); and my daughter had two appetizers - the special bacon app and the sausage gravy in fries app. The dishes were good - the bacon did not match the photo and was drenched in some type of honey, while the sausage gravy with cheese and fries looked good. Nice stop in Breezewood on the PA turnpike. Plenty of parking, clean, attentive staff and good food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. read more

This was a great overall experience! The food came out very hot and fresh (cold food was cold, of course), and everything was delicious. It was standard BE fare, nothing new, but when you're driving long distance, comfort food means a lot. The service was also good. The servers were friendly and fast, the manager checked in on us, and everyone seemed to be relaxed and inviting. Granted, it wasn't terribly busy by any means, so that probably helped the stress levels. The dining area could use a little TLC. The tables and chairs and floor are showing some signs of age, but nothing was "broken" or overly worn down. Minor issue, but it could use some updating. The location is pretty easy to get to, as is most of Breezewood. And it's a better option if you aren't looking for really fast food like burgers and fries. If you have time to stop and "set a spell," this is definitely worth the detour. read more

First, there weren't a ton of food options off the highway, so I was glad to come across this place. Second, it comes with a store/gift store in front which was delightful and more BE restaurants should embrace this combo. The menu has a lot more options from the last time I came, including seasonal options. I had to try the caramel apple French toast, which was great. The waitress suggested the whole hog which was tempting, but also shared the more standard eggs/hash browns/meat combo which came with a bread option, so went with the uncommon banana bread side, which was delicious. Sadly, not up to par like most Bob Evans. Service was mediocre at best as was the food. Stopped for breakfast, had a wait which isn't a big deal for us at all. Waiter had zero personally but again not a big deal. The food was ok as Our eggs were over cooked and I had to ask for both our sides of bacon 3 times which came after grabbing the manager. My experience here was great. They've clearly stepped up their game in Breezewood, as I had some poor take-out experiences in the 2010s traveling back and forth from NJ to OH. Lightning fast, friendly, attentive service from our waitress, Raven. The food was tasty and above the quality at most other Bob Evans, including the old standby, the Chicken 'N' Noodles, and the new Steakhouse Salad I had. We were offered drinks to go (always helpful for the Turnpike trek home), and the General Store that they have here was very well stocked - great items for gifts, souvenirs, etc. I don't know what more you could want for a nice place to get a meal while traveling. read more

Reliable stopping place for wayfarers. They serve breakfast all the time, which makes for a vegetarian option. Our server was very welcoming and helpful. Our food arrived quickly. There's lots of comfortable seating. Although I'm not a fan of chains, this is a safe bet for travelers in a sea of fast food joints. read more

While I was half way through an early morning drive which was several hours long, I stopped in here for a quick breakfast and cup of coffee.  I had never been to a Bob Evans like this, as this one has a full store in the front, similar to a Cracker Barrel.  When I went in, there were two girls standing at the cash register and no one at the podium where the hostess would be, so I walked up to them and asked if I could be seated.  One girl, the cashier was very rude and pointed to the podium, telling me to go stand there and she then walked out from behind the cashier and took me from the podium... Very odd behavior. Once I was seated, Kenzie was my server and she was GREAT!  She was very friendly, helpful and quick.  I ordered their Country Biscuit Breakfast and it came out piping hot and fresh within 5 minutes or so and it looked excellent!  It tasted GREAT too!! The restroom was mostly clean, just had a nasty smell to it.  The place is rather dated, but I did see a "30 year anniversary" sign on the wall, which they apparently recently celebrated. In all, I was in and out within 20 minutes from when I got there, so I definitely appreciated them being quick to help out!  Again, Kenzie's great service deserves special notice, because if it wasn't for her, I would be giving 2 stars instead of 4. read more

First time I've ever been in a BE and it reminds me of Cracker Barrel but for some reason I couldn't figure out why it was empty. Went here because was right next to my hotel after a 5 hour drive and didn't want to drive anymore. Service was great. Ordered a breakfast with over medium eggs. My server brought out my plate with broken yokes and said she will be right back because she was making me new eggs. This is great customer service and I'm an idiot for asking her what her name was. This Bob Evans gets 5 stars because of her. Food was good. Portion size was more than enough and the price was very reasonable Next time in this area I will stop in again for a good breakfast for dinner. read more

The waitress was very good was on top of keeping our refreshments filled took our order quickly, but overall was super pleasant . She made the whole experience worthwhile . Was my first time eating at Bob Evans and it was definitely worth the visit. The food was fabulous. I had eggs, hash, brown, and toast. Husband had an omelette with toast. Everything was cooked to perfection, including the toast, not one burnt spot on it. Our cups were never empty and we even got some to go drinks for the road. Kudos to the staff for making this experience, a fabulous one, highly recommend this place! I arrived in Breezewood after driving all day and I was starving to death! The gal at my hotel suggested I could get food here, at "Bob Evans." Now, let me say, I have never heard of Mr. Evans before and I was unimpressed by the information that I could not order beer or wine there. However, the staff at the Holiday Inn Express wisely sold such refreshments in their lobby- thanks HI! In Bob Evans, I was greeted by Emily, who cheerfully handed me a menu to order take-out from. I never know what to get in places like this, where I have never heard of the restaurant or what kind of food they serve. I settled on the Farmhouse Hand-Breaded Fried Chicken Sandwich. I ordered macaroni and cheese and cole slaw for the sides. While I waited, I was encouraged by Emily to check out the gift shop. I picked up several holiday ornaments to bring to my destination, as if my car wasn't full enough. When my food order was ready, I bid Emily farewell and returned to my hotel room and my mini bottle of vending-machine wine. Oh my God! My sandwich was topped with bacon and smothered with cheese! Lettuce, tomato, onion, honey-mustard! It was the most delicious thing I could have imagined. On a brioche roll! I thought I must be in the south of France! The macaroni and cheese was creamy and had me craving macaroni and cheese when I returned home- something I hadn't eaten in years! Stopped off the turnpike on the way home. Not easy to find (at least not for this old man! But then use your GPS doofus). It's up the hill from the crazy intersection. Clean and welcoming with gift shop in the front. Server was young, but friendly and provided great service. Had the Country Fried Steak with green beans, mashed taters and gravy. This Bob Evans is a common stop when my family and I drive out this way on various trips. It's one of the only actual sit-down eateries in Breezewood. And since Breezewood is one of the only places in this area that isn't too far out of the way from the interstate where you can stop at to get a meal, I've stopped here many times over the years. I admittedly always loved coming here when I was younger because the front of the place is a giant store filled with pretty decorations and cute toys that'll have any kid begging their parents for it, pretty please. These days however I am way more interested in sitting and eating than I am in shopping in the makeshift country store; sometimes you can find a decent gift there but mostly it's just full of trinkets, in my opinion. Food wise, Bob Evans is Bob Evans, and Bob Evans specializes in large portions of comfort/American dishes. Every once in a while they'll serve something unique that's hard to find elsewhere - a few years back they even served fried green tomatoes, which I was very happy about. Normally though Bob Evans' menu is pretty standard for the type of restaurant that they are - meaning that half of the food is fried, 90% of it is covered in butter, and it all tastes good even though you know it's just not good for you. Normally when eating here I'd ask a family member to please split something with me, there's no way I can eat a whole plate of rich and often high-fat food. During my most recent stop, though, I was surprised to find that Bob Evans now offers lunch combos. Yep: you can now get half of those amazing sandwiches that come on buttered toast, and you can get some soup or salad on the side. I ended up getting a turkey bacon melt with a bowl of chicken noodle soup. Really, with those toppings on Bob Evans' buttered toast, nothing was going to go wrong with that sandwich. The soup was admittedly not the tastiest bowl of chicken noodle soup out there, but man I love the enormous noodles that they serve with it. I also sampled their pot roast sandwich and found it to be the very definition of tasty comfort food - it fits right in at Bob Evans. I will continue to recommend this place as your best bet for a decent meal in Breezewood. In the years that my family and I have stopped here the service has never been terrible, just a little slow when the place is jam packed with travelers. I will, however, say that if the bathroom is in as terrible shape as it was during my last visit (no toilet paper anywhere, locks on the doors barely holding, no paper towels or soap - honestly I'm docking a star from my review specifically because of the condition of the bathroom), just leave. Our party of three was sat at a table that seats nine. Christie was our waitress. She was prompt and kind. I ordered the Homestyle Chicken Tenders. The Homestyle Chicken Tenders were crispy, all-white tenders. The plate comes with three large tenders, fries, and coleslaw. The fries are your standard frozen bag fries. I ordered the zesty wildfire sauce as my dipping sauce. The bathrooms are disgusting. It was evident they are not cleaned on a regular basis throughout the day. The foul stench of urine hits you before you open the door. I was gagging as I was using the facility. The floors are wet and sticky. The sinks were drenched with water. Yuck! Bathrooms are a sign to customers how clean your establishment is kept. read more

BAD!!!! Have been here before to get food on a long journey. Was excited to stop and eat. Sat and waited 20 minutes for drinks. Food came out 45 minutes later when it was not busy AT ALL on Monday. I got the new fish platter, didn't get coleslaw or onion rings as promised. Also got 2 instead of 3 fish. All the fries were RAW or CHARCOALED. I waited 5 minutes for the waiter to come back around, and never did. I went up to the closest employee and asked to see my waiter/send someone over. Employee told me that she will be right over. Didn't come again. I went up to another employee and was told the same thing. I was so hungry I ate most of it anyways. My original waiter came back to check/give me receipt an HOUR LATER. Literally where did she go. Waited 20 minutes in line to pay. I am not one to complain as I was by myself but WHAT THE!!!! One arrives in Breezewood, PA, just at about the right time for lunch. Bob Evans offers very American food for the traveler. A type of coffee shop, but nicer. This location was very clean and spacious. A nice place for a sit-down meal after a drive up from the Washington, DC region on I-70 or from Pittsburgh on I-76. I ordered a Pot Roast sandwich the first time we stopped here. (Pot Roast being a Bob Evans speciality.) It was served on toasted sourdough bread with a side of cole slaw and French fries. I also added a cup of Tomato Baisil soup as an appetizer. Very good! My wife ordered the Wildfire Chicken Salad. Stopping again on another trip, I tried the Wildfire BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger. Also a cup of the thick Tomato Basil Soup that I now look forward to. This location is a Bob Evans General Store. There is also a sizeable gift shop in the front. (Nicer merchandise than at Cracker Barrel.) Definitely recommended. A good alternative to the numerous fast food offerings in Breezewood, Pennsylvania. read more
