This is a great little local place where everyone was friendly. We stopped during our road trip and the breakfast was delicious.

This little place fit the need of a quick out-of-the-way stop with the variety of food we wanted. The waitress offered to make a veggie wrap when I mentioned I didn't eat meat. They had a grilled cheese too but I went with the all-you-can-eat soup and salad bar with clam chowder and very fresh salad toppings. Oh and yummy onion rings. Just a simple diner atmosphere with a cheeseball and crackers to snack on and a fairly large breakfast and later menu. $20 for 3 of us. Clean restrooms for customers only. read more

Not sure why this place gets the reviews it does. I went there recently with my family and thought it would be great. The sign said home cooking and we were expecting friendly service and great food. But what we got was indifferent service and mediocre food. We also nearly got overcharged $13 after we asked why the bill was so much more than the price on the blackboard. The lady behind the counter said, "oh, sorry, I didn't clear the previous order." Maybe that's what it was, but that's never happened to me before in a restaurant. If I were a suspicious sort... The main orders, two cheeseburgers, were just OK. Not hand-molded and not very flavorful. We also ordered chicken tenders and a side order of french fries. Also nothing special. My iced tea was sweetened when I had asked for unsweetened. The best thing I can say about this place is that the prices are cheap (when you're not being overcharged, that is). $9 for a bacon cheeseburger is a great price, but I wouldn't have had a problem paying more if I could actually get a real quality product. This place has a lot of potential, being located as it is near Breezewood, PA, which is an important transit point for travelers and full of fast food restaurants. With a bit more friendliness and attention to quality, this place could really take off with the non-locals. read more

Just had the most amazing fish & chips at this little local cafe. Traveling from our vacation in Michigan we decided we'd stop for the night in Breezewood, the only food options in town were fast food. Thanks to yelp we found Cathy's Store! It was Friday night so the dinner special was fried haddock. WOW this was 3 pieces of crispy battered fish that just melted in your mouth. One of the best I've ever had, especially considering the price ($13.75 for 3 pieces of fried haddock & choice of 2 sides). Kids went w/ chicken tenders and we all shared some mozzarella sticks and jalapeño poppers. Everything was excellent including service. Highly recommend. We've decided from now on we need to coincide our annual Michigan vacation to have a stop off in Breezewood so we can eat at Cathy's Store! read more

We found this spot - because we didn't want fast food in Breezewood. Cathy actually served us, the chicken soup was amazing and the burgers were perfect. The bathrooms are 'a little rough'. I took my parents to Cathy's Store for Friday fish fry. Wow this place is best kept secret in the area!! Fresh Seafood!!! The fish was fantastic, big filets hand breaded when ordered. Or you can get it grilled. Here is the best part....they have fresh scallops and oysters!!! You can order as many as you want !!! My mother and I got 4 fried oysters and 4 scallops to split,along with 1 piece of fish, We made our own seafood platter! The scallops were done on the grill and just melted in your mouth! Mindy was our server that night. All the staff was friendly and took great care of us. Cathy the owner was the cook. She came out to check on us make sure everything was good. My parents being older, can't always eat all their food and like to take it home , Mindy brought boxes a small bag and even put in extra dinner rolls. They were thrilled. We split the funnel cake fries with Carmel dipping sauce. Yummy!! The place was very clean, nothing fancy but clean. I can't say enough good about this place, make the trip and see for yourself you won't be sorry !! And the fish was just as good the next day for lunch !! read more
