Chips were cold from drive through and the vege burger tasted of old oil. Next time i'll make a packed lunch.

Too many screaming, out of control kids running around. Not a place where you would relax over a meal. far too many chavs.

Date of Visit: 02.10.09 "Pure Treasure - Great Chef with…read moregreat passion" Review: You first enter and feel that it is both casual and reasonably lively and Family friendly. I know Mill Hill and this is not my usual spot for breakfast or lunch so I was intrigued by Mill & Brew. The head chef was previously trained by Jamie Oliver and his passion for food and caring about the ingredients really shines through. Quick tip to the owner "don't let this one go". A great menu catering for all including a good vegetarian and vegan options with lots to select but my only criticism on the menu is that the Breakfast and Lunch menus are very similar and only a couple of new dishes added for lunch. Also although there are cakes and other dessert items no specific in house desserts and I would love to see this moving forward. All portion sizes are large so feel free to order more single dishes and share so you can get a chance to really sample the fantastic menu selection. I will be going again and would highly recommend this establishment to all. Parking: Ample station parking and also street metered parking also which although is limited to 1.5hours at around £2 you can go back and get another ticket. Decor & Lighting: A rustic cafe feel but really well done so you just feel comfortable at a light casual place to meet for a coffee or a full meal. Heating and Cooling: Noted they have AC and during our time the AC was off but temperature was perfect, not hot or cold. Ambience & Acoustics: A great feel but acoustics wise there were a few people around and it did sometimes get hard to have a conversation but being hard walls and high ceilings this would be an acoustic issue anyway. Service: Excellent service by all members of staff as each would come and ask if all was ok so very attentive. DB Level: 77.3 dB We had the following: Coconut crush - My friend had this and suffice to say it must have been to her taste as nothing was left. Berry burst - Textured and fresh and I am no fan of blueberry but loved this combination. I would recommend this for all to try. Beetroot smash (Poached beetroot smashed with organic yoghurt, topped with pomegranate, crushed walnuts & pistachios finished with fresh apple on sourdough) - A take on the usual avocado on toast but using an english ingredient. The bread is crispy with the beetroot both light and sweet. All very well presented and I for one not being a fan of beetroot was a bit worried about this one but I was pleasantly surprised and I am glad we had selected this from the menu and is a must to try. English breakfast (Two fried eggs, smoked streaky bacon, award-winning sausage, homemade baked beans, a baked tomato, Portobello mushroom, potato & onion rosti and toast) - Again a well presented dish. All the ingredients used and specially selected. The beans being fresh and not the canned variety with a great light taste. You also get a little salad with light fresh dressing. Along with the best crispy bacon I have had which was really crunchy. The award winning sausage had a light spice and perfectly cooked and not too meaty. The tomatoes and mushrooms along with the perfect egg and the most amazing hash brown all work in perfect balance. M&B banana pancakes (Triple-stacked fluffy pancakes! Choose between our classic smoked bacon and maple syrup or our caramelised bananas with sweetened cream cheese & toasted hazelnuts) - Sweet and fluffy but be aware this is a large portion which we shared and still could not finish the entire dish. Real care and attention taken to the dish which would not go a miss in most fine dining establishments. Albeit they would probably charge more and give a much smaller portion. Halloumi rings - A nice touch and variation on onion rings. A nice light and crispy batter and works well as a side dish also served with a home made dip which works well. Fries/Chips (Hand cut, twice cooked, crispy chips) - Great chunky chips which are rustic with the skin left on. Again served with a great home made dip. A treat for all. Chicken Schnitzel Burger (Free range crispy chicken breast fillet in a brioche bun with baby gem lettuce, homemade coleslaw & mature cheddar cheese, topped with siracha mayo) - A nice homely made item, crispy, crunchy and nice taste to the batter coating. Really fresh and worth every penny. Conclusion: The slight issue we found is that the Wi-Fi needs improvement as there is poor signal and no real cover. But food wise and atmosphere wise there was no complaints at all other than wanting maybe more items for Lunch and having their own home made dessert menu. All the food is fresh and all ingredients sourced with care and attention. I would be happy to have the same food in the top city hotel and I do think this chef is going places so why not try out where he started his own vision before you have to pay more for the privilege in years to come. Great food and good value.

The amaretto sour I ordered was way too sweet (it's my fave drink, so I have many to compare it to), the live music was way too loud to even speak with someone right next to you and my food had two long hairs in it. One mixed in the salad and another actually inside of the burger patty. Foul. Don't get excited prior to ordering the pork ribs - they look like they were brought straight over from the freezer section at Iceland across the road. The staff were pleasant, but there was just a depressing vibe about the place!

There were chairs and tables carved out of wood into unusual shapes and wouldn't be out of place in a hunting lodge! They have really gone for the 'Western' theme. We all got burgers and chips and were not disappointed. I'm a vegetarian and admittedly my only choice was a vege burger off the whole menu, but I love a burger and it was delicious!! The sweet potato fries were lovely too. We all had pudding and the choice was great - we couldn't choose between them! As the evening went on, the place got really busy with loads of people coming in just for drinks. There was a live band playing rock music (what you'd expect with the theme) which was a nice touch but not my cup of tea. All in all a lovely meal, great looking place and friendly staff. Would definitely recommend. PS - They take Tastecards!!

While visiting the UK I was utterly spoiled with all the kosher options, including The Kitchen,…read morewhich recently opened with rave reviews and delicious food. In the 10 days I was there, we ordered take away once and ate-in once. I definitely recommend going in to the restaurant because the place offers a truly unique dining experience. With take away, the husband and I both opted for burgers, with him getting onion rings and me picking up the chili fries. I'll admit the fries were of the frozen-and-fried variety with chili sauce poured atop (delicious, still), while the onion rings were clearly hand-battered and, as the husband said, delicious. The burger I got was plain, and by the time it got to us was a bit lukewarm. My husband ordered the Double Fakon Cheat Burger (Two Prime Beef Burgers topped with Smokey Fakon & Soya Cheese) and both inhaled and raved about it. I was a bit jealous, but being gluten free I couldn't really enjoy a burger the way I wanted. We also nabbed a spicy sushi roll, which was killer, fresh, and perfectly kickin'. When we went in, the last night I was in the UK to see my husband, it was date night. We both felt terribly under dressed being there at night, so take note: If you're going there for dinner, put on something nice, probably not jeans. I ordered Mitch's Sandwich sans the baguette: Baguette with Sliced Chargrilled Minute Steak, Sautéed Mixed Peppers and Onions with Mayo served with Homemade Fries and Coleslaw. Unfortunately, they were missing the mayo and they served me a mustard that had wheat in the ingredient. We let them know, so hopefully they won't make anyone sick unnecessarily in the future. The meat was absolute perfection and the peppers/onions were to die for. It reminded me of a sort of deconstructed Philly Cheesesteak, sans the cheese. The coleslaw was okay, but had a weird citrus tang that gave it a strange after taste. The sweet/tangy balance is not there yet, but I suspect that with enough Americans eating there, they'll get it right. My husband ordered The Dallas Cowboy: Baguette with Pulled Home Smoked Beef Rib and Caramalised Onions served with Homemade Fries and Coleslaw. Although we got what they were going for in an homage to pulled-pork sandwiches, unfortunately the meat wasn't "pulled" at all. It was cubed and completely unseasoned. Unfortunately, he was disappointed with it. Overall, the eat-in experience was pretty great, even with the food hiccups. The interior of the restaurant is very alt-rock glamour, with paintings of classic characters in modern situations (a character reminiscent of Shakespeare, ruffles and all, with one leg propped up on a soccer ball, for example). The lighting is dim and romantic at night, and the seating space is very close, so get to know your neighbor. The staff were nice and accommodating, checking on all my gluten-free questions, which is always a good sign. In the end, I'd say this restaurant has a lot going for itself and will go far if it tweaks its recipes and menu just slightly toward perfection.

As much as the experience is great fun, it takes a long time to get to that point, this time it was…read morea four hour wait before we got to play, which is insane. I get that the idea for them, at least, is so make you sit around so you spend more money (great business plan), but four hours to play two games... The chilli cheese dog was awful, red in skin so closer to a savaloy, and the chili wasn't great. I ordered a 2 pint stein, of which they'd apparently run out of yet hadn't mentioned it to me and then served two single pints. Tater tots were decent though. All in all, I like the idea and it's great fun but waiting around that long, alongside the prices of drinks (pretty much London prices) such as 6.20 or so for a pint, plus terrible food, isn't s great experience. *Updated review* We went back as some friends were down and it was an even worse experience and we'll never be back. Pushy service which we then noticed service charges - it's not a posh upscale restaurant, how can you justify a service charge? The food again was average to bad, spicy Mac and cheese was awful and not spicy, tater tots were lukewarm and soggy, wings were fine but not listed as spicy (they are slightly), the burger my friend got was poor and dry. To add to this, they didn't clean and take away plates and glasses for over an hour. We then proceeded to wait 4 and a half hours before getting into a lane, along the way, we got to 1 at in the queue where we waited 45 minutes and saw numerous people go ahead who were further back in the queue... All because they had kids. I don't think breaking the rules because people choose to bring kids down late on a Saturday is very fair on the people who've been there since before 4pm, it was 8.30pm at this point. I was told (which I knew) if you want to get in quicker, book a slot, but that comes at a cost of £39.99, and that doesn't include any games, food or drinks. I then had security speak with me as I was getting agitated and say, well I'm here to 3AM, after I said we'd been there since before 4pm. Honestly, that's not a great response and insulting. You chose this job, not me, it's not my problem you're there until 3am, if you're unhappy, change jobs? Literally, it's nothing like this at the one I'm Las Vegas which I've visited numerous times now. I would avoid this place like the plague, unless you like wasting money and valuable hours of your life. We'll never be back.

I would definitely consider coming back. However there are some downsides which leads me to give Topgolf only three stars: - the wait: we came on a Saturday afternoon and had to wait 4 1/2 hours. 4 and a half hours!!! Since we pre-paid our session and there was a sports-bar showing football, we waited but really... - the food: the menu looks super attractive since I am a big fan of traditional American sports bar food (wings, burgers, nachos). However, all the dishes we had were mediocre at best. Even something simple as loaded nachos were just meh. - the service: the service in their bar was extremely slow, I guess we had plenty of time but the staff was also unaware of the menu. I asked for a Peroni beer and even pointing at it on the menu was not sufficient for the waitress, she asked me to spell it for her sjeesh. So bottomline, the main attraction: the driving range is super fun and good entertainment but the bar is below par (pun intended hehe).

There was just two cars in front of us but it took nearly half an hour to get our food. By all accounts the car at the front had been waiting for 40 minutes! When we finally got to the food window all we could hear was bickering between staff members as nobody seemed to know what they were doing. Honestly, how hard is it to simply get an order right? We had intended to park in the car park to eat our food before heading off on the M1 but when we got to the sign directing us to the parking we discovered that it was cordoned off! Nowhere to eat! We pulled up opposite the restaurant to eat. The standard hamburger sucked! It was dry as sand and had little if any sauce and onions. It's not rocket science to cook a burger is it? As we ate we watched other people going through the Drive Thru, which was entertaining as it would have been quicker for them all to cook their own burgers. The length of time it took to service orders was beyond belief! We won't be stopping here again, that's for sure.
