So we decided to go grab a quick bite to eat here. This new location looks so clean and modern. I love the fact it has off street parking in the back with another entrance. The staff here were super friendly and very quick with the service. The appeal of seeing them slice the meat and cheese in front of you is unique for a sub place and it was cool. We each got a cold sub. My wife got a regular size turkey sub and I opted for the giant roast beef sub. Now let me say a giant roll isn't really giant compared to other spots in Buffalo. It's comparable to a Wegmans or a DiBella's size roll. Overall, this is a very well assembled and tasty sandwich. I enjoy the fresh taste of the ingredients but wish there were more variety in toppings. The only big downside is the price. I know prices are higher everywhere but it seems a little higher here for the price of a sandwich. We will definitely go back and hopefully the rewards app they have can help with the price.

I had some time between appointments and needed coffee and a bite to eat. Plus, I always wanted to check this place out. Now, I'm still debating with myself. Why would I say anything bad about this restaurant? Hello! It's a Cracker Barrel Old Country Store :). What did I expect? I even knew the coffee would be bad, but the price was a real shocker. The last time I had coffee like that, it cost maybe two dollars, no more, and that included refills. I never eat breakfast out. Never, unless I'm traveling. I ordered an Egg Sandwich, two farm fresh eggs served on seared sourdough bread with tomato slices and no mayo. It comes with one classic side. I chose Hashbrown Casserole. The eggs were delicious. The bread wasn't anything close to a 'real' sourdough, but it was actually seared with flavorful butter, and I enjoyed it. The tomato wasn't the best, but salt and pepper came to the rescue. I appreciated that everything was under-seasoned. It's much easier just to add more salt and pepper. It was a very basic type of food. My partner got a little bit wilder with his choices. How about Grandpa's Country Fried Breakfast :). Two eggs and country fried steak with sawmill gravy, served with biscuits and more sawmill gravy and one classic side. He chose Hashbrown Casserole as well. Do you know what sawmill gravy is? "Sawmill gravy is a hearty Southern white gravy made by creating a roux from pork sausage or bacon drippings and flour, then whisking in milk. The Origins: the name 'sawmill gravy' dates back to 19th-century logging and sawmill camps. Cooks needed to provide an inexpensive, calorie-dense breakfast for laborers". At first, we criticized the gravy thinking it was a skimpy white sausage gravy. We had no idea sawmill gravy is something different. Now we know. Our server was good. The dining rooms were heavily decorated. The choice of music was just like at the Cabela's store. All in all, two breakfasts (including a simple egg sandwich) and bad coffee for a total of 40 dollars with tip was definitely not worth it for me. I've heard their pancakes are the best, but pancakes are not really my thing. I'll never forget the blueberry pancakes that my Yelp Friend Dan B. shared a photo of a while back :). They looked sumptuous. There were a decent number of customers, so this place is a popular spot. I didn't care about the store, either.

It had a good seasoning and the shrimp were good but definitely not how you want a steak. To be honest, the best part of the visit was the store. Two ordered the chicken quesadilla and said it was good. The one who had the roast beef said it was kinda dry and tough and agreed the fries were salty. And one had the vegetable harvest skillet, it came with soup or side salad. She opted for the side salad that was good and quite large for a side. They would only do one check but could take multiple cards. It was relaxing going that early because all conversations could be heard as the night went on it got very loud, it was after 6 when we left and the noise level was high. The dinner portion is massive (I know this from a previous visit). The Mac and cheese is very good. Very flavorful. And the chicken was cooked perfectly. Tender and moist. I sure do crave a good charcoal burger and am wondering why it hasn't taken off in SoCal yet, would be perfect for a quick, easy beach meal! I noticed a lot of new menu items, but this time stuck to my tried and true chicken sandwich and fries order while I am only in town for a short bit but next time I will venture out and try one of the new fries options. I also appreciate the points system, I was able to get $5 off my order this time. The chicken sandwich was fresh tasting and light, and the kids meal is awesome for my daughter, hot dog fries and a drink. I went in between typical busy hours and the wait was less than ten mins, but can see how it would get really busy, but good food is always worth the wait.
