Visited 5/1/25 post dinner rush. Not a single clean table in the entire restaurant! Sticky pop on the tables Fries and condiments packets on the floor. The manager came by and swept the messes with her arm and walked away without wiping the tables. Nothing wiped or picked up from the floors. Absolutely disgusting! read more

The WORST McDonalds I've ever been to. THe Orie McFlury as $1.00 higher than other McD;s and was not properly made...the Orie was broken up and put on top of the ice cream rather than mix it throuhout the whole cup. The attendant at the first window looked like a Muslin ith turbin rapped around it head and spke very look English and had a poor attitude. I asked HY my order was 20% higher than other local McD's and he said we have a new owner. Unyil I hear the current owner is removed, I will not return McD's has always been known for CONSISTANCE and this one does not live up, If the new owner thinks he can raise his prices just because its Barrington, he will looses WHY is McD's selling estuarants to people like this ? If I could give this McDonald's zero stars, I would. This has happened at this location almost every time I order from there, the fries have a nasty aftertaste and they were cold and their nuggets taste like cardboard. Obviously the food wasn't fresh, and the service is slow compared to other locations. Go to a different location, this one is awful, they should shut it down or fire all the their current employees. read more

First of all, the fries are stale asf. Nuggets taste like cardboard and even when you ask for sauce, they don't give it to you. The only normal tasting food is the chocolate chip cookies. Stopped in with the Family for a quick egg McMuffin type breakfast, looked up on the app for any bargains (after all its McDonald's) they offered buy one get one for $1.00. App wasn't working right and could only process one with no help from the cashier. Finally got frustrated, paid for it, should have used the kiosk, would have had a better conversation (LOL). I hate McDonald's and I try to avoid it at all costs. However, I moved close to this location and I've started to get cravings for a Hot Fudge Sundae, or an Oreo McFlurry (I'd liked Wendy's versions better), and I've gone through their drive thru several times to get myself a treat, or get food for my boyfriend. The food is... McDonald's - it is what it is. They don't ever seem to give a receipt when you go through the drive thru, you seem to have to ask for it specifically. I'd avoid McDonald's entirely, except that there isn't really anywhere else even remotely convenient to grab a quick ice cream snack. They gotta do something about customer service at this location. Employee's that are in interaction with customers are very unpleasant and unhappy. Luckily the food tastes decent at least. The people that work here need a revamp in leadership or something because everyone I encountered was upset and it made me upset when I'm supposed to be purchasing a meal from a restaurant that encourages happiness. Store was clean and service was fast. They always make my fries fresh when I ask and are kind about it. Consistency is key when it comes to fast food for me. Food was brought to my table by an employee with a smile and asked if there was anything else I needed! Probably the friendliest most efficient group of people I have seen at any McDonald's so far. Ever since the new management took over and they did a remodel to this McDonalds (it used to be so unique with gold ceilings and just a homey feeling, it was modern but old school at the same time) the service is slow, they worry more about the drive thru, and management is either in the back or doing a position they shouldn't have to be and if there is a problem they are unable to leave that position(like sandwiches) because it's to busy so employees have to walk over to them to figure out what to do. One employee(when i was in the drive thru) looked at me like i was crazy when i asked for a cup holder. I had to repeat it 6 times and motion what i meant till she understood. The foods ok, fries are usually hot but the shakes were more chocolate then ice cream. I wish this McDonalds was how it used to be. Its sad that after 25 years of living in Barrington(2 minutes away) i rather go to the McDonalds down 14. I worked at Wendys for 5 years and i know fast food isn't as easy as a job as people think it maybe but management get it together. Managers are leaders and there for guidance. I be more happy to come back if managers trained their employees on stations and be moving around helping out but free to walk around for issues or even helping export orders so they are available for inside and drive thru. I miss the old McDonalds. Oh and the one star is for the tall mexican lady that worked in drive thru at the payment/order window. She is amazing and I will only go back to update this with her name. She needs to be promoted and be the one to change the atmosphere at the place! She is always so sweet to my daughter and says hi all the time. Ill figure out her name and will be calling corporate to give her a promotion or just acknowledge her great service and hard work. I love McDonald's, the food, the prices, the variety and the App. This McDonald's location in Barrington always gets my special orders wrong...I know, I should open every bag and check but the car lines are so long they sometimes block street traffic...so I feel guilty and don't check. I would never go to this location again but it is the only one close to my 96 year old Mother's nursing facility and she likes "special order". It's always wrong and a big disappointment to her (& me). There is not even a way to address the issue, phone isn't answered, and nothing that I can see, even on the App. read more

Their hours are goofy. Close really early at night, even on weekends. I live nearby and with our busy schedules we will sometimes stop there on the way home from games. In the past year, I would say I have stopped there 5-6 times around 8pm (even on a Saturday), and they are closed. Steer clear of this McDonalds. I placed a mobile app order at 8pm, arrived at the store to find that they were no longer accepting curbside delivery or drive-thru. I chose in store pickup in the app and found that the store was closed with all of the doors locked!! Totally bizarre since the store should have been open until midnight. So I was charged for an order I couldn't pick up. I've contacted McDonald's support and so far have only received form responses back. It is a very good fast food restaurant. The prices are affordable. The service is good. It is a very good place for adults and kids.

The burritos come in pairs and we got 1. They also didn't include the picante sauce. There was nobody in line so I see no reason for this to happen. read more

This is the worst McDonald's out there. There was the absolute most rude and crossed lady working the register. This lady screams at my best friend for taking too long to order. Once we finally get our food after about 30 my friends burger was cold and my chicken nuggets had mold on them. After all that this lady sees us going to refill our drinks and threatens to call the cops for stealing even though we payed for the drinks and even called another Location that said that they we're refillable. Ive never had a problem with the associates they are all nice, the food is always hot, I have not experienced any bad service and Ive been coming here every single day. I am always looking for service when I am using the drive thru. This McDonalds seem to lack that service. From weeks ago to currently. They don't hear correctly. First time was with my children's MKids Meal, requested boy and girl, I received boy all around. I had to get off the car to change and still get an attitude from the employee. Went through Drive through this morning for a Carmel Frappe one of their frozen coffee drinks....they gave me a chocolate version by mistake. Not a big deal, so I turned around and went back through drive through. The young woman working the order screen told me " go right to the second window". ( the pick up window ) I thought they had my frozen drink sitting there, since I was given someone else's' drink. As I pulled around the building I drove in front of someone paying the same young lady who works the drive through order screen , the same person who told me to right to the second window... The person at window 2 was awesome, she apologized for the mistake and told me she would make me a fresh drink...I asked if I should move my car up to wait for the drink and was told not to. At that point, as I was waiting for my drink, the young lady from the first drive through window comes into the pick up area and yells at me - saying I shouldn't have gone directly to window....( even though she told me to do so ) I was the customer with the wrong order, I wasn't upset or rude to any of the employees, and followed HER directions...she then yells at me ? Perhaps someone with poor communication skills shouldn't work the drive through window at McDonalds ! Pancakes, coffee, and cinnamon rolls are much more possible to keep eating without heart problems. McDouble stats shows it has less percent saturated fat than Quarter Pounder. However it would take longer to leach the tasteless unnecessary oil out of hamburger patties. People could try putting them in a George Foreman grill on low. I do not know if that would work because I do not use electric cooking. I have 1 pan that has lost it's non-stick surface. The pan is not too thick nor too thin and I do what I do very carefully, and avoid over-cooking, avoid drying it. I can use a 7.5" lip Cuisinart pan and angle the pan and a little olive oil under it. I prerub a circle to the size of fast food burgers. I can use other metal to prop it up on one side or hold it with my hand. I have got it to work with fast food burgers. It tastes better too when the meat is healthy and fresh and good quality. If the meat is bad, it makes it more possible to taste poor quality meat. McDonald's can be a tasty burger, with even less grease, when I care for this a little more when I get home with my order. Current chicken sandwich is ok but it is rather small. They call it the crispy chicken sandwich. Previous phase buttermilk crispy chicken was more like a famous flavor sandwich, but I would never give McDonald's 5 stars for anything. I might give them 4 stars if the breakfast sausage was cooked better. I have gone to McDonald's almost every day with a buy 1 item get 1 item of equal or lesser value promo receipt. It has cost me less than $5 every time lately for my order. I am fortunate enough to have a real kitchen with a real fire stove and fire oven in a residence. I have skills that my dad doesn't even bother to use even though he once went to chef school. He ended up working as a teacher. I know how to use the broiler mode. I can use the broiler mode to recrisp the crispy chicken sandwich and make it hot again, and try to wipe up some of that fat oil butter as heat rises to the surface. The butter helps me use my reheating method when I go to the drive-through and have to go home. I like to eat things just like it is fresh off the grill. Deluxe crispy I have tried with no mayo, because mayo has fat in it. Deluxe crispy can't go as long on broil mode because the breading is already more dry, but I could try bake mode. I know I have successfully put McNuggets on bake mode at low temperature to get them heated again. I have done that without losing the flavor. Just be careful. read more

I went through the drive thru and sure enough I didn't get an answer back, I see lights being turning off as well.i then pulled up to the window and I see employees putting hats and coats on; it's Tuesday and only 10:50.at least turn off Uber eats if you're going to be closed early. read more

This McDonald's is conveniently located right off a highway making it quick and easy to get to. The customer service is alright but could be improved, they tend to mess up your order from time to time which is pretty disappointing. Their food is pretty standard for a McDonald's and but their McFlurry's are pretty bomb. The place in general was just redone but the tables are consistently dirty and probably aren't very sanitary either. I arrived at 5:50 A.M. and I approached the entrance and was preparing to enter the McDonalds until a problem occurred.
