The donuts were fresh and chewy, with a light glaze frosting, not cakey or overly sweet. This is a sweet space, pastel pink, with an ivy-decorated wall and about six small tables. I wanted to try pudding on my tea (they were sold out) so I will have to come back and try it along with some other mochi donuts. Lots of interesting flavors and add-on options!

Then--by pure luck--we stumbled into Hangout Cafe after dinner next door, and WOW... this place saved us. They have an amazing selection of drinks--coffee, tea, bubble tea, bubble milk tea, and bubble milkshakes--but let's be real, I was there for the bingsoo. Choosing was tough because everything sounded incredible, but I went with the strawberry bingsoo, and it was next-level delicious. Light, refreshing, perfectly sweet... 10/10. The service was fantastic, the cafe was clean and cozy, and there's even a parking lot (major win). We left already planning our next visit. I was so glad I had not had lunch yet - I ordered shumai (3 shrimp and 3 pork) as well as three buns (pork, walnut and a coconut covered custard bun). The setup is simple and cute (although the signage had me a little confused - they also have salads that are priced kind of by the number of items). The service was very friendly and they were kind of surprised at how excited I was they were finally open. It's mostly set up to take out, although they have a small amount of seating. I took my food to go and I was home in about eight minutes. By the time I got home I had eaten all the shumai. I thought the pork was much better than the shrimp and the pork was just OK. Unfortunately the buns were...not good. I couldn't recommend any of the three I tried based on that visit. I'm hoping they were just beyond their freshness (I was there after the actual lunch hour), so overall I was disappointed in everything I tasted. But I plan on giving them another try in the future (earlier in the day) and I will also try a drink next time.

We ended with mochi, and it was prepared like you expect, soft and doughy on the outside, and cold and frozen ice cream on the inside. Too many places have melted mochis by the time you crack them. My husband had the pork ramen and said it was a bit bland. I also had their ice tea. It was unsweet and came with free refills.
