Perfect place on a hot summer day! This place has menu items that is pleasing to drink or eat when it is hot out or if you are in need of a smoothie or protein / healthy drink after a good workout! I came here on a hot summer day after dining for lunch outside at a restaurant nearby. If I would have known earlier about this place, I would have saved some room to try their acai bowls. Parking - lots of free parking near Outdoor walk through option available for those that have dogs and want to order / pick up from outside. Atmosphere - great to come hangout with friends, family or by yourself to get some work / reading done. Washroom - the toilets don't flush well and it wasn't the most clean washroom I've seen.. Costs - ranges from $5.99-$13+ depending on what you order.. may be costly for a drink but it's yummy & fresh fruit! Handcrafted bowls, breakfast bowls, smoothies to wellness shots Pink Flamingo Smoothie ($8.59 small / $10.59 regular) - the smoothie isn't only pretty in color but also tastes great! It is healthy with its mixture of fruits and not too sweet, just right on sweetness level (doesn't tastes like those drinks loaded with sugar)..if you like extremely sweet drinks maybe ask for more agave nectar added I'll be back to try their acai bowls if I'm in the area read more

What an incredible operation! Great menu, lots of options, high quality ingredients, GF options (yay for me!), and facility is clean and inviting. Not sure if it was the owner who gave me a sample of the peanut butter granola and peanut butter chia pudding, but it was a perfect helping just "to try" and, wow, but my heart was warmed when a person of need walked into the place and she she handed him a banana. It was clear that the interaction was routine, but she had no problem giving him something to eat and it made me so joyous to see such a charitable thing. She also spoke to him like a person, not as someone that would be less because he has less. Clearly this place is run by a good person too. Bonus: the young man behind the counter made a little too much for my small smoothie so upgraded my size at no charge. Thank and God bless! read more

Oh yeah!!! Fresh juice to enjoy this morning!!! Cute cafe on Hough! Staff is very helpful to understand the freshly made shots, juices and bowls. It did not disappoint. Thank you!!! read more

Nekter is the pioneer of the modern juice bar experience with a delicious menu of fresh juices, superfood, smoothies, acai bowls, and healthy snacks that can be made vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, and low-sugar. I love the vibe and ambience here. Located in downtown Barrington this is my go to spot for fresh juices. They have a nice seating area inside. So far I have tried the recovery, the buzz , and the green apple detox . Each of the juices were so refreshing and tasted amazing. I can't wait to go back and try their smoothies and açaí bowls. They are open 7 days a week! Go check them out read more

My daughter from California is in town and this is my first time trying an açaí bowl--outstanding! She got the dragon bowl (which I tried and it was very good), and I got the peanut butter bowl (also very good). I was skeptical about having an açaí bowl for a meal because I'm more of a meatatarian. But my pb bowl was pretty filling--loved all the fresh fruit. In the end, I probably prefer a smoothie as a snack, but really good stuff. Average cost is about $10, plus add ons like protein and ginger. See my pics below... read more

Wow what a great experience! We tried 3 different bowls in our family and everybody loved them (kids and adults). They are big so could probably share between two people. Service was excellent as well and the atmosphere is very pleasant. read more

I got the raspberry açaí bowl and it was one of- if not the BEST açaí bowls I've ever had! I asked for no bananas and there was a mix up where I was given a bowl with them on top but I didn't even need to let the worker know my order was wrong because she immediately realized and made me a new one. Amazing staff and atmosphere! read more

Best smoothies and Açaí bowls around! Everything is incredibly fresh, delicious, and consistent. The staff has always been super friendly, the location is convenient and I love the little pick up window on the sidewalk which is perfect if you want to enjoy your items at their outdoor tables. Pro tip - order on the app ahead of time so that it's ready right when I get there! Açaí bowl pictured here, too yummy to get a picture before eating! Highly recommend! read more

Hands down the slowest service you will ever experience. Order your drink ahead, or set aside at least 20 minutes. The drinks and bowls are good....but if you are in a hurry consider elsewhere. read more

I preordered 20 mins prior to arrival, and still had to wait an additional 25 minutes. I had already prepaid or I would have left. I also had a similar experience last year. Won't be going back. They need to figure out how to run a store properly. It was unbelievably frustrating. No adult/manager in sight. Completely unacceptable and overpriced. I felt sorry for the kids behind the counter so I didn't even complain. Where is management????? read more

While the drinks are ok at best the prices are crazy high and they take forever. I've gone there 3 times now and I've never waited less then 20 min for a smoothie. Cost vs quality vs convenience it's just not a place I will spend my money at again. Not to mention the staff acted absolutely upset when I decided " no tip" before they even brought me my drink. read more

Nekter is healthy and delicious! Everything is made fresh when you place your order, it takes time to make something great and well worth the wait. Best of all, if you don't have time to wait, download the app. It's so convenient and easy, you can schedule your order and it's ready and waiting when you walk in! Once you try it you will be hooked! You also accumulate rewards and earn free smoothies on the app. My favorite smoothie is the Tropical Cooler, it's made with coconut water and it's filling but light. I also love Popeyes Acai made with homemade cashew milk. The power shots and juice cleanse drinks are also very good and easy to grab and go. The almond cranberry bar is soo good! Our son, Parker took a summer job at Nekter and it's been such a great experience, he has continued working throughout the school year. The owner, Loren is fantastic and makes the environment and experience great for customers and employees. The passion for the product and mission is genuinely felt. Nekter is a fantastic addition to Barrington and a great nutritious option for a morning or afternoon boost! read more

Great acai bowls!! We recently moved into the suburbs and we were looking for good acai since it's super hard to find. This place makes everything so perfect and the staff is so kind. I will absolutely be coming again! read more

I've been to several Nekter locations around the nation and this is by far the worst one. I love Nekter and I think the food is great! But this one just baffles me. The food is okay and if you want a quick eat this is the last place you should go. I wait 10 minutes max at the other locations and that's when it's busy. When I come to the Barrington location I have consistently waited 30 minutes plus for my bowl even when I'm the only person in the store! I don't get it! I could go to the grocery store, get all the ingredients, make the bowl at home, and go for a mile run in the time it takes them to make a bowl. If you're gonna come bring a casual read like the dictionary or the Bible because you'll be able to finish it while you wait. read more

Nekter Juice Bar - Juice Bars & Smoothies Near Me - Barrington, Illinois

I tried to come to this place twice and give it the benefit of the doubt but both experiences were not good. First time the açaí bowl taste bitter and it took a while. Second time we ordered again açaí bowls and they took 30 minutes. The workers were just playing around and talking until one of them noticed we were just sitting there and asked what we were waiting for. He asked the other people about our bowls and apparently they packaged them to go even tho we ordered them for here and they were sitting there getting all melted for like 20 mim read more

Nekter is a treat. The space is welcoming and adorable, the staff is friendly, and the food is delicious AND healthy. The PB Health Nut never let's me down. My 11-year old is obsessed with the chocolate bowl. read more

Great place to get a healthy drink and the staff there are very friendly and helpful. They are very personable!!

Such a great smoothie place!! Pro tip - get the app so you can get a free smoothie. Definitely coming back

This place uses all natural ingredients (I asked) and the customer service is amazing. Stephen set up my order and he was the sweetest helpful person. I got the Pink Flamingo smoothie and it was refreshing and didn't feel like too much sugar. The interior is nice for remote workers and students that might want to study, although there is some groovy music playing. read more

Nekter Juice Bar - Small Pink Flamingo Smoothie, 16 oz ($8.56 with tax) - Juice Bars & Smoothies Near Me - Barrington, Illinois

Great products and excellent staff to assist in finding correct food/smoothies for your dietary needs! Would recommend!

Location is good and the food/smoothies are good but it takes sometimes up to TWENTY minutes to get a smoothie. One day I walked in and the person at the counter warned me that it could be up to 30 min wait. Not worth it. Literally that is the only complaint. The place is cute and the smoothies taste great. read more

If you're looking for a place that makes you feel happy, fit, accepted, smart and fun, look no further than Nekter. From the moment you step inside its a delicious treat of the senses. The staff is awesome, the food is healthy, tasty and more importantly satisfying, and the owner, well, she is the real deal. Thank you for coming to Barrington! We love you! read more

So yummy!!! Very quick and easy to order and to get the food. Such a cute aesthetic, like a costal town!

Took 15 minutes for $40 worth of 2 bowls and 1 smoothie. I came up to ask the status and she said they were "working on it," in a rude tone. A nicer employee saw that my order was actually ready and had been sitting there. Then I hear the rude employee stomp into the back saying "why don't people have patience." I will not be back which is a shame because I thought Barrington needed a spot like this. They'd benefit from an adult with 10+ years in business overseeing and running this place in person. read more

My daughter Bailey works there and introduced my husband and I to the Tropical Cooler which is a mixture of greens and fruit. It is so healthy and has a great taste! We are hooked and also enjoy the ginger shots which make us feel energized and are just the boost we need to start our day! Thank you, Nekter, for turning us on to this healthy lifestyle! read more

This is my go to place after Pilates class for a ginger shot and/or smoothie. Bailey always greets me with a smile and has suggested some great menu items for me to try. I love all of her suggestions and one of my favorites is the tropical cooler. I also like that she follows up to make sure I am happy with my order. Great product and great customer service! read more

They've been known to have slow service in the past so I've turned to mobile ordering ahead of time on the app. Today, I waited 20 minutes past when I arrived, making it a total of 45 minutes from when I ordered, for a single bowl. They didn't even call out my order, so who knows how long it had been sitting there & would've continued to until I went to ask about it. Maybe there needs to be more prep done each morning or more staff in the back? A shame because their bowls are yummy but the high school kids running the place can't seem to figure it out. read more

I love this place! The bowls are so fresh. Super clean environment. Employees are always so friendly. One woman, maybe the manager/owner?, is there every time I go and never fails to brighten my day with how lively and personable she is. Highly recommend. read more

The açaí peanut butter bowl was refreshing and delicious. The employees were very helpful and friendly.

I have been here multiple times and each time there is great customer service and the fruit is always fresh. It is the best açaí bowl I've found in the area and would definitely recommend. read more

It is so wonderful to have a healthy alternative to the overly sweetened drinks from Starbucks and the like! These are such better ingredients and come on--let's support the "mom-n-pop" shops! The staff is very friendly and accommodating. If you want your smoothie a little sweeter just ask for it they're happy to add a natural sweetener like banana or pineapple. Over all I think it's a great little shop and wish them great success! read more

Great customer service! Manager and employees were super helpful and kind. Food was amazing.

I think they need more staff it was slow. We got our bowls and they were so bad. Only good part was the real fruit on the top. So overhyped.
