History
Established in 1973.
In 1973, McDonald Uniforms was started by Joe McDonald. After retiring from the United States Postal Service, being the man he was, Joe decided to stay in touch with his former comrades at the United States Postal Service. How was he going to do that, that's right, he decided to become a salesman of uniforms and accessories to the men and women who delivered mail day in and day out.
Joe took on his son, Dan, in the late 1970's as a salesman. Dan enjoyed what he did by going out to the post offices each day and seeing what the men and women needed and then go back to the shop, the garage, and pick and pack the order getting ready for the next day to deliver. Service was the key to the company. These two men triumphed over what people told them they could not do and did it. They received orders and had the inventory to supply the USPS with their much needed uniforms the following day.
Meet the Business Owner: Dan M.
Joe McDonald, retired mailman, founded Joe McDonald Postal Uniforms in 1973, out of his kitchen (Office), closet (Warehouse) and car (Show Room). It wasn't for a few years until he made it big time, the garage. Joe possessed Values, Commitment and a Friendly attitude. His hunger for wanting to know more about each person and family he met, afforded Joe and his loved ones to be part of the family at the Christmas parties. His children and grandchildren have been and some still are heavily involved in the legacy Joe started.
In the mid 90's, Dan McDonald Sr., Joe's youngest son, acquired the company from his father. Dan, like his father, enjoyed getting to know the people he served. Up until this point, McDonald Uniforms was one of the top five USPS authorized dealers in the US. With mail order and the internet, Dan envisioned serving not just the USPS, but all Uniformed Professionals.
