I've never been one to totally bash a business on Yelp, but what these people did to my husband is…read moreabsolutely sneaky and atrocious! My husband had his heart set on a specific car that this dealer had. We drove 2 1/2 hours each way on numerous occasions to make sure this was the car AND that the deal would be good for all parties. They promised to handle my husband's payoff of his lease AND his mileage extras. Well, here we are months later AND surprisingly the sneaky business is saying that wasn't discussed. We received a letter from the lease company that my husband owed 7500 in over mileage fees! Yes, 7,500 dollars! The whole reason my husband made the sale was so he did not have to pay these fees. Well, now we are in debt for 7,500 and Benedict said that they never agreed to this and basically we were had. So do not ever buy anything from them or trust them! They are absolutely the worst! Not to mention when we tried to call to see IF they received our check and we got toe run around that the saleswoman wasn't around, then the manager wasn't around. It took them over a week to call us AND each time it was a different story. So thanks Benedict for scamming the hardworking person!

Well I was sent to this dealership by a best friend that spoke high of. I started out Loving them,…read morebut as time went on, it got a little worse. Then I thought we found the right truck for me, was emailing back an forth all day (since I was working) so I can get the numbers and info to send to the bank and insurance company to get the ball rolling.... Then out of the blue, my sales lady (who is awesome and I don't blame this on her) told me to try and call her cause she has some bad news. I called her and she states that the company will not give me the trade allowance that they told me just 2 weeks ago because it is getting to close to winter and we can't sell your car (2013 Camaro) at the auction or dealership and we don't want to hang on to it. This dealership was so great to work with until this, so friendly. They also were the best out of 4 (2-Oneonta, 1- Albany and them) dealerships to give me the best offer on my car. I have never heard of a dealership to back out of a offer after giving me my trade in value

I was running my snow tires as they were still good for summer but would not be good for upcoming winter. When vehicle was done I received call and was told that vehicle did not pass inspection as tires were so bad that steel cords were showing. The rep told me that they could get new tires in a couple of days, provided cost, and by the way the vehicle also needs alignment. I told them that I had summer tires,so they offered to install. I refused their offer. When I picked up car the vehicle, I became really concerned that Matthews was trying to sell me tires that I didn't need. As apart of the 10K service I received a report the tires all had tread over 7/32, green box checked. I immediately texted them and questioned why tech passed tires on their report but tires had "steel cords" showing. I asked if possibly they mixed up my vehicle with some one else. The service manger talked with tech and they stood by the failure of inspection. I subsequently received a another text and I was correct that tech had mixed up brake evaluation with tread wear evaluation. By the way the brake report also had all green boxes checked. They suggested that I bring vehicle back, I refused. I took my vehicle to my regular shop and both the manager and tech looked at tires. There were definitely no cords showing and vehicle passed inspection. I sill wonder what Matthews motivation was with the whole ordeal. My opinion is that even though I live in Norwich I purchased vehicle out of town. The reason for buying out of town was because of a not so great experience with Matthews sales department on a different vehicle. Only my opinion, not provable.
