They told us that because she's in marching band the pads would need to be replaced every year. So, the 3rd year we decided to purchase insurance, which cost 125 dollars, up front for next year to cover the repairs needed. This year when we used our insurance that we paid for last year. All they did was re-align some minor parts and were able to return our instrument to us within a day. So, this feels like if you purchase the insurance ahead of time, they will do the minimum work on your instrument but if you have an open check book, they will sock it to you. Beware of Marshall Music. I won't ever go back, and I plan on telling everyone about my experience with their company

He actually contacted the manufacturer of the guitar I purchased and worked it out so that the guitar pickups were replaced to my needs. They had a teacher who cancelled my 6 year old's piano lessons at the last minute. They offered substitute teachers who knew nothing about my son's lessons and ended up coming out confused and happy after his lessons. They wouldn't help us use make up lessons for regular classes after we had accrued about a dozen make up lessons because the teacher cancelled the last minute. The manager is particularly non understanding and unhelpful - she came out with suggestions like please donate your extra lessons to other parents!

I've been coming here since I was in high school but it had been a good 20 years since I had been…read morehere last. What's funny is that I used to live around the corner, as well, until I sold my condo recently. I thought I had messed up my uncle's violin, the bridge had collapsed. I also wanted to get one of my bows restrung. They are by appointment only and I tried emailing them but didn't hear back, so I gave them a call today since I was going to be in the area. I got a new bow from them, as well as new strings. It was a little pricey, about $112, but I know it's a family business. The house looked exactly the same as I had remembered and they have all sorts of cool memorabilia and things on the walls. It looks like they can rent violins too, there were some little kids there who were starting out on their first violins which was nice. They threw in a cloth for me for free and also a luggage tag for the violin, which I thought was very nice. I highly recommend this place even if it's a 30 to 40 minute drive for you like it is for me now.

It's totally unprofessional for them to treat anybody this way, and it's extra bad for their business, as I am a member of the Detroit Symphony and have students, and will certainly spread the word about my experience. Further, I stopped going to get my instrument serviced after Peter did an unprofessional job on my bridge, making it far too low, far lower than I requested, rendering it useless for my purposes. So I cannot at this time recommend this shop. There are plenty of alternatives with much more professional services.
