I called the 800 customer service phone number, after I was told that the employee had been possibly dishonest, to confirm the truth. After learning the truth, and being advised to visit this location before the passport was sent out, I went to the branch as directed. What I particularly found disturbing was that the way the two employees at the window behaved as well as the supervisor. Additionally, they were not aligned with customer service and disagreeed with what I was advised to do. I wanted to get this situation resolved quietly and privately but all three employees had different intentions. Very disappointing experience. Hopefully this is not the way every employee works at this location.

I am going to brag about the amazing customer service I received today. My brother sent my kids…read moregift cards for Christmas. The problem was they sent them to the wrong address. The good thing...the post service added the new address label and we received 2 out of the 3 cards. There was still one card missing. Finally I contacted both the Fortville and Ingall's post offices for help. They worked together and finally figured out that the card I was looking for was at the Ingall's location with the entire front ripped off. There would be no way of knowing who it was from or where it was going. What saved me was my brother signed the inside. The amazing and very helpful Andrea in Ingall's helped me find it and now my daughter has her highly anticipated gift from her uncle. Andrea thank you from the bottom of my heart! It's people like you that give me hope that people still care and still do an amazing job everyday. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

There have been a few mail issues over the years but all I have to do is call them and they immediately work through the problem with me. When I come in they are always super polite and helpful. And for those local the store can do just about anything. Think of it like a UPS store and Kinkos. If you're traveling a lot, the post scan mail membership is very convenient. When you get mail it gets scanned in and sent to you. You can then shred/recycle it, forward it on to somewhere or pick it up when you return. Overall I think they are a little more expensive than going direct to USPS or the other carriers but it is in a convenient location and the service is always good.

I called Wednesday and spoke to a rep who advised the mail carrier was a woman who probably couldn't carry the mattress and they would see if they could get a man to deliver today if someone would be there. That's great and hope they get it delivered... I will update this review if they do get it delivered today. My issue is, why didn't said female Mail carrier coordinate with someone on Monday or the reschedule Tuesday? Shouldn't it be their actual job to make sure the mail, packages ect gets delivered?! Why is it the customer's job to get it figured out?! I'm thankful that i found a phone number to call directly to the Lawrence PO because I tried the 800 number yesterday and was on hold for 40 mins and no one ever came to the phone and the website did nothing for me. The building is typical U.S. grade 1980's style, maybe a little bigger than others. There are nice work areas to prep packages, several self service stations, shipping supplies and gift cards for sale. The place is clean inside. Like most post offices, there was only one clerk working, so the line was long......and slow. Post offices boxes are around the corner separated into several bays. A cool antique scale is out on a table. There was plenty of parking in the dedicated lot.

I don't blame him there - it's easy to open the drawer and put your packages in - don't leave them on the floor for someone else to deal with. I mailed a first class international package on Sept 14. Tracking still shows that it has left the post office for the sorting facility. Soooooooooooo glad I paid extra for those idiots (most of whom are unlikely to be actual employees) to sit on it for a couple months. What the heck is going on? Add that to the fact that USPS.com does not provide a method for you to contact them if your tracking still shows a package moving through the system. Idiots.
