The lobby is organized and well-kept, and there are several designs of stamps to choose from at the counter (I picked the snow globes in honor of Christmas!). Vanity was the employee working when I was there, and she was fantastic. She was very kind and personable to everyone who came through, and she was very understanding to the customers having trouble. I would definitely pick the McCordsville Post Office over any other shipping company in the city!

The good thing...the post service added the new address label and we received 2 out of the 3 cards. There was still one card missing. Finally I contacted both the Fortville and Ingall's post offices for help. They worked together and finally figured out that the card I was looking for was at the Ingall's location with the entire front ripped off. There would be no way of knowing who it was from or where it was going. What saved me was my brother signed the inside. The amazing and very helpful Andrea in Ingall's helped me find it and now my daughter has her highly anticipated gift from her uncle. Andrea thank you from the bottom of my heart! It's people like you that give me hope that people still care and still do an amazing job everyday. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

There have been a few mail issues over the years but all I have to do is call them and they immediately work through the problem with me. When I come in they are always super polite and helpful. And for those local the store can do just about anything. Think of it like a UPS store and Kinkos. If you're traveling a lot, the post scan mail membership is very convenient. When you get mail it gets scanned in and sent to you. You can then shred/recycle it, forward it on to somewhere or pick it up when you return. Overall I think they are a little more expensive than going direct to USPS or the other carriers but it is in a convenient location and the service is always good.

The message also said a note was left on the door- but there was no note. I had to go online and reschedule delivery for Tuesday. Tuesday came and went no delivery, no update to the status... nothing. I called Wednesday and spoke to a rep who advised the mail carrier was a woman who probably couldn't carry the mattress and they would see if they could get a man to deliver today if someone would be there. That's great and hope they get it delivered... I will update this review if they do get it delivered today. My issue is, why didn't said female Mail carrier coordinate with someone on Monday or the reschedule Tuesday? Shouldn't it be their actual job to make sure the mail, packages ect gets delivered?! Why is it the customer's job to get it figured out?! I'm thankful that i found a phone number to call directly to the Lawrence PO because I tried the 800 number yesterday and was on hold for 40 mins and no one ever came to the phone and the website did nothing for me. I rescheduled on the website like I was instructed by the automated system and you see nothing was resolved or even updated. I had to call myseland get it taken care of... hopefully. I really appreciate the self serve kiosks here where you can weigh packages, print labels, and buy…read morepostage without the need to stand in a long line. Usually I am able to use the self serve kiosks but occasionally I have to wait in the line. And the line can be very long, and very slow. One serious issue with this location that the mailboxes in front with the drive thru access are often full. I've seen both mailboxes completely stuffed with mail sticking out of the slot. Once it was raining hard and I could see mail stuffed inside that was getting wet. I don't ever drop my mail in the outside boxes anymore because they definitely don't collect the mail often enough. So I park and go inside to mail my letters.

My first experience was my passport appointment for my newborn daughter. I was the first one in while my husband parked the car and was going to bring her in. I show up to a cubicle and the lady doesn't even acknowledge me for a few minutes (I know she saw me because there's no door and she's writing but with her head up) then looks up finally and I say "hi we have a passport appointment" and she says "we?" And I said "yeah we.. my daughter is coming in after my husband parks the car" and she says "it looks like it's only you." Big eye roll. She was not nice during the appointment and spoke minimally. She would give us papers to sign and then get on her phone. You could just totally tell she would rather be anywhere else than with us doing this appointment. Second experience was going in to buy a simple book of stamps. I got a man that I could barely understand but after I told him what I wanted his response was "you're late." And I said "excuse me?" And he said "you're buying stamps too late this year." I think he was referring to if I wanted something to get to where it was going by Christmas, I was "late". I didn't like his comment because it's truly none of his business so I just stared at him and paid. He then said "bye bye." WHAT!! What kind of interaction is that and was that necessary? I get they're busy during the holidays but come on.. Other than my mishaps with (I hope) are just the wrong employees I am getting every time, this location seems alright. It is spacious and you're able to go in 24 hours for drop off which is nice. Just a shame that some of the employees made my experience not so great for a location that is convenient for me.

It's location just two blocks from the main street and with a small dedicated parking lot makes it super convenient to pop in and check items off your to do list. The building itself is on the older side and looks like a lot of the sweet older post offices found in rural Indiana towns. Their staff was very helpful and patient in helping me with my international shipping as well as the book I was popping in the mail. I'd much rather go to a smaller post office like this than the bustling ones in downtown Indy for the sake of parking and lines. Overall, a positive and simple experience.
