I was over in Carmel and needed to mail a few things. I was surprised to find the post office so…read morenear, but hidden among medical buildings. The building is typical U.S. grade 1980's style, maybe a little bigger than others. There are nice work areas to prep packages, several self service stations, shipping supplies and gift cards for sale. The place is clean inside. Like most post offices, there was only one clerk working, so the line was long......and slow. Post offices boxes are around the corner separated into several bays. A cool antique scale is out on a table. There was plenty of parking in the dedicated lot.

Usually I am able to use the self serve kiosks but occasionally I have to wait in the line. And the line can be very long, and very slow. One serious issue with this location that the mailboxes in front with the drive thru access are often full. I've seen both mailboxes completely stuffed with mail sticking out of the slot. Once it was raining hard and I could see mail stuffed inside that was getting wet. I don't ever drop my mail in the outside boxes anymore because they definitely don't collect the mail often enough. So I park and go inside to mail my letters.

So, after 4 trips to the post office, I have officially filed passport applications for all members…read moreof my family (household). On our first trip, we had an appointment and all of the supporting documentation outlined on the application and online, but we were told by Brady that we'd need an additional piece of information that was not listed. He came off as extremely knowledgeable and familiar with the process, so we took his word for it. Before even leaving the station, I'd received (via email) the necessary documentation, however we had no way of printing it there. Brady advised us that he was booked full for the rest of that day, but that I should come back with that documentation for my daughter's application and they'd get us taken care of. That was on Friday, 7/15/22. The next day, I went online to schedule another appointment, however there was an issue with the scheduler on the website. I went through all the steps, but did not receive confirmation that my appointment was booked. The appointment was for 7/20/22 at 10:45am, but I did not receive the confirmation email until 7/20/22 at 5:23pm. I walked into the location the next day (7/21/22) in hopes that I could be helped without an appointment. I was turned away. I tried, to no avail, to drop Brady's name and to mention the issue with the scheduler, but it didn't matter. They wouldn't help me. Today, I returned with all documentation, an appointment AND Brady was there!!! But guess what?! I didn't bring my child....duh, Kandice, they aren't going to issue a passport if the individual (even a minor) isn't present. I did all the steps required during my appointment time and Brady promised that he'd do his best to accommodate me if I returned with my daughter, although he was booked full for the rest of the afternoon. I scheduled an appointment for Thursday (the next available), but told him I'd return and wait today if I had to. On visit #4, which was my second for the day, I was able to complete the task. He had an appointment going and another couple on standby (no appointment), but he worked us in and got us taken care of. I really appreciated his extra effort and understanding. We need more people like him working in customer service positions! You can tell he cares about his job and the service that he is providing!!!

I am going to brag about the amazing customer service I received today. My brother sent my kids…read moregift cards for Christmas. The problem was they sent them to the wrong address. The good thing...the post service added the new address label and we received 2 out of the 3 cards. There was still one card missing. Finally I contacted both the Fortville and Ingall's post offices for help. They worked together and finally figured out that the card I was looking for was at the Ingall's location with the entire front ripped off. There would be no way of knowing who it was from or where it was going. What saved me was my brother signed the inside. The amazing and very helpful Andrea in Ingall's helped me find it and now my daughter has her highly anticipated gift from her uncle. Andrea thank you from the bottom of my heart! It's people like you that give me hope that people still care and still do an amazing job everyday. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

The lobby is organized and well-kept, and there are several designs of stamps to choose from at the counter (I picked the snow globes in honor of Christmas!). Vanity was the employee working when I was there, and she was fantastic. She was very kind and personable to everyone who came through, and she was very understanding to the customers having trouble. I would definitely pick the McCordsville Post Office over any other shipping company in the city!

They are very ghetto and I will be very glad when all of them retire or just go somewhere else out of my sight. I was threatened to not call in to the USPS on them but I did it anyways because I don't threaten or scare easy. Just like they know my address I know all of their addresses also. It's very very disgusting when you take people in the ghetto and give them a job and they still can't perform it like even an average employee. I had to visit this location because of a passport issue. The employee that started the passport…read moreacceptance process was dishonest about the photo submission. I called the 800 customer service phone number, after I was told that the employee had been possibly dishonest, to confirm the truth. After learning the truth, and being advised to visit this location before the passport was sent out, I went to the branch as directed. What I particularly found disturbing was that the way the two employees at the window behaved as well as the supervisor. Additionally, they were not aligned with customer service and disagreeed with what I was advised to do. I wanted to get this situation resolved quietly and privately but all three employees had different intentions. Very disappointing experience. Hopefully this is not the way every employee works at this location.
