I was supposed to have a mattress delivered on Monday. Got a message that it couldn't be delivered because it wouldn't fit in a receptacle? The message also said a note was left on the door- but there was no note. I had to go online and reschedule delivery for Tuesday. Tuesday came and went no delivery, no update to the status... nothing. I called Wednesday and spoke to a rep who advised the mail carrier was a woman who probably couldn't carry the mattress and they would see if they could get a man to deliver today if someone would be there. That's great and hope they get it delivered... I will update this review if they do get it delivered today. My issue is, why didn't said female Mail carrier coordinate with someone on Monday or the reschedule Tuesday? Shouldn't it be their actual job to make sure the mail, packages ect gets delivered?! Why is it the customer's job to get it figured out?! I'm thankful that i found a phone number to call directly to the Lawrence PO because I tried the 800 number yesterday and was on hold for 40 mins and no one ever came to the phone and the website did nothing for me. I rescheduled on the website like I was instructed by the automated system and you see nothing was resolved or even updated. I had to call myseland get it taken care of... hopefully. I just discovered that my package, which was supposed to be redelivered the next day, was sent back to the sender in Florida and arrived there. I didn't receive a notice that there was even a delivery attempt. I had been speaking with Lawrence postal manager Friday and then he didn't call me back on Friday or Saturday, Today, Monday, did to break the news to me that the delivery guy who was new to the route and thought the apartments might be abandoned. There are almost always seemingly deliberate misadventures when my regular deliverer has his day off. There are cars in the lot, nice ones, and an American flag on my porch. As I pleaded my case, the call with the manager I was disconnected. He called back and said it was a power glitch. I was grateful and resumed discussing my perspective that there was a possible vendetta against me. We were disconnected again and didn't call back. I pray that God watches over all postal workers, but there are those who seem to do things to agitate people. God Bless America. read more

No complaints during my short but sweet visit to this post office. Right off the bat I appreciated the plentiful parking and the fact that there was no wait. I often put off visiting the post office in fear of the line I will find upon arrival. The staff was super friendly and helpful in helping me navigate sending the packages I was building. I also think they were as excited as I was about the new Disney villain stamps. Ahh, love me some quirky stamps. The building itself is fairly old but in a cute and vintage sort of way. Conveniently located a stones throw from one of my neighborhood favorites, Porter Books and Bread at Fort Ben. read more

This post office has been terrible about delivering the mail for the last few years. I work at a Lawrence local business and we are always waiting for our customer checks to arrive in the mail. We even have a post office box there and the mail is still always late. Checks take OVER 30 DAYS TO ARRIVE TO US!!! We do not even trust this post office to mail our mail there. We drop mail off at another locations. Every time I go in, there is a line. I always try to go to the Oaklandon Post Office if I have personal business that requires me to go inside. Fire the whole inside staff and rehire people that want to work. read more

the female clerk with glasses is incredibly rude every time I visit this location. Today she made a totally unnecessary comment about how the rules must not apply to me when I told her I've been able to send an item through the mail before that she said I would not be able to send out. (she was told by another clerk that it would in fact be able to be sent, just through ground..... shouldn't she know that?) I was nothing but nice until that comment was made but I admit that I matched her energy after that. I'm sure no one will read this or even care, but there is a certain decorum expected when working with the public. I'm not the only person she was rude to. I watched 2 interactions before me and she acted like it was inconveniencing her to wait on people. If you're unhappy with your job, find another one. Don't take it out on people that are just trying to get on with their day. read more

Avoid female clerk with Ceelo Green lookin glasses. Incredibly rude. I'm hesitant to ever leave a bad review on a business considering we're all human and have bad days. I'm in this location often and every time I work with that lady she has some smart comments that are derogatory and off-putting. Find better employees USPS! read more

I have no words right now. Absolutely nothing. The mail had been doing a lot better at quality control as of late I thought.....until I saw this. Please tell me how this happens?? Had the most unprofessional clerk. I handed her my letters, she promptly rolled her eyes then threw my letters and stamps back on the counter. I did not realize I was a post office employee why the hell should I have to apply postage deliver to box. Another example of a person who has no business interacting with customers. If I could I'd give them a zero their mailman called my father a "fata** cracker" after my dad asked him to scan a package he was picking up (as USPS POLICY states they need to scan when picked up Incase the package gets lost) anyway my father had a stroke beginning of the year and is not allowed to get upset. He started cussing at me and my father calling us white bit*hes. This is by far the most racist experience I've had. Then he acted like he wanted to fit us. Point is another mailman drove by and SCANNED the package and picked it up. I went to this post office to file a complaint and this so called manager wasn't much better. Yes I have HIM on camera cussing us out and yelling racial comments towards us. She basically told me she believes the mailman over us even though I have PROOF it went otherwise. So I took her picture to report her too. She tells me I can't take her picture, ( she's a public worker so yes YES I can) I told her that I feel like this is a racial issue that because I'm trying to do the right thing by reporting it not taking matters into my own hands ( which In this neighborhood happens more than normal) she told me I threatened the mailman I said no I'm not threatening I'm just saying he can't act like that to CUSTOMERS. Point is they hiring the worst type of people and this whole situation was racist towards us. read more

This is really close to work so I always use this location. It's a small post office and it can get pretty busy sometimes but the line moves fairly quickly everytime I go. Most of the workers are non expressive so they come off as rude or mean. But they do the job quickly and if you crack a joke or make an effort to converse with them they'll joke back. Customer service jobs sucks so I totally understand the difficulty of keeping a happy face on all day. As long as they aren't obviously rude to you and they get the job done as quickly as possible, give them a break, it's not their job to smile at you or ask about your day. And if you don't have your shit together before you get to the window that's on you, you don't go to the BMV without all your documents and expect them to complete forms for you. Policies sometimes get in the way of practical work so if they say they aren't allowed to stamp "Do Not Bend" (or provide some other service they've done in the past) get over it and move on. You writing it by hand isn't going to kill you. read more

I"ve lived in Lawrence for almost 6 months now & i have had nothing but problems with the mail delivery. I receive all my other neighbors mail, them mine as well. Packages have been sat in front of our locked building and I have lost 2 of them because of this. SOMEONE NEEDS TO LOSE THEIR JOB.. For over 2 months I have had packages sent to me from my mother and they arrive. When my birthday card with a $1200 check in it was mailed not only was it a month late it was opened and laying in my mailbox with no postal registry stamp on it. Previously, when I changed my address, they got my name and apt# wrong! I had to call and have it all fixed and they told me I would hear from someone in 2-3 business days. I STILL have not heard from anyone and NOW the package I.am waiting on that was SENT BACK YESTERDAY was sent back because THE LAWRENCE POST OFFICE SAID THE ADDRESS WAS WRONG, AND IT ISNT!!!! I absolutely hate this post office. In the last year, I don't think I've received my mail at home before 6:00. Packages are delivered 3-4 days after the tracking status says the "package is at your local post office." I call the post office (if they even answer, count that as a blessing!), to be informed that they (1) can't find it; (2) it's out for delivery; or (3) you'll have to check with the shipper as to why you haven't received it. THE WORST. I went in here today to ship an EBay package. Normally when I take Amazon or EBay packages to UPS or the USPS by my house, they tape it for me or give me tape if I haven't been able to do so myself. I was in line and the lady and check out - her name starts with an A - it's really long, tells me that they cannot tape it for me and that I'll have to purchase their tape. I was not going to spend $4 so I opted for one of their paper bubble wrap envelopes with a seal so my product would be fine inside. I got back in line and she asks me if I taped my box and I told her that I had gotten a package envelope instead. She seems fine but then asks me if I wrote my address and I told her I had a label for it. WHILE HELPING ANOTHER CUSTOMER, she rolls her eyes at me and shakes her head and tells me that won't work, to get my package out of the bag, and gets tape and slams it on her countertop for me to use. This is so disrespectful and so uncomfortable. I stayed quiet the whole time and just taped my box. This entire time, she's socializing with a family member who walked in to visit her while she's on the clock. Once I was done, I couldn't even say anything - I Just gave my package and left. This employee was rude, has terrible customer service skills, just no respect or need to help the customer. I'd never go to this USPS but it was near work and needed to get my item shipped in time. Sticking to UPS from now on! It's not even about the tape, I would have purchased it - it's the behavior towards a customer. read more

The new mail carriers are so lazy. These younger ones will put the orange ticket in the mailbox as if they made an attempt to ring the doorbell to get your signature. I was expecting a package that I had been tracking online. I looked out the window and saw the mail carrier stick mail in the box. Until I went to check the mailbox, I finally saw that he put the orange ticket in my mailbox. I knew that he did not get out of his truck because I watched him. He had marked the ticket that he attempted to deliver (a lie!). He took my package back to the post office. On Saturday, August 4th 2018, I was tracking a package online that contained supplements for my health condition. They were never delivered to the mailbox. Then, at 6:04pm, I received an update that my package had been returned to the post office for pickup. Of course the post office was closed. That pissed me off. The postal person made the mistake. They could have brought it back to my home at the end of the route and placed it in the mailbox. No integrity. As an African-American, I am ashamed of how lazy some of my people do their jobs; no integrity. The younger they are, the lazier they are! It is ridiculous. McCoy street post office has too many of them. You go inside and you get bad attitude as if you are interrupting something they are doing. This is the person(s) behind the counter; shameful! Our service has been terrible lately, We have had to deliver our neighbors mail more than once because it had been delivered to our home instead. This branch possibly delivered a package containing a Christmas gift for my daughter. The tracking number reported it was delivered to my door. I though maybe one of the couriers might recall the package, and were he delivered it, if we asked him soon after. When I inquired about it at the local post office, a woman named Marylin told me to fill out a form, and the branch manager would get back to me. Its been weeks and not so much as a phone call. This branch manager is a gleaming example of incompetence and indolence. I'm going to insist on FedEx to get the job done right, in the future. read more
